Thousands of people every year cross the Smoky mountains on the Appalachian trail without incident, there's no more danger there than there is anywhere else you go,
They were not talking about hikers, although there are several deaths and serious injuries of hikers from falls, the leading cause is from vehicle accidents. People are more likely to injured or killed on the way to a trail head, than on the hiking trail.
In the spring of 2022, a mother cougar and her three cubs were spotted in Wears Valley in Sevier County (East TN). In August 2022, employees working overnight at Dollywood saw a cougar--not a bobcat-- crossing the railroad track.
There are beings out there that will blow your mind.i never believed in anything about bigfoot period.iam a local fisherman in the east Tennessee side and have had these beings throw rocks and sticks at me.its changed my life and my understanding that these beings are very real.and they do not live way out in the Backcountry, more like backyard, iam dead serious.i have fished alot of my life and I have a good knowledge of the wilds and let me say this,I felt so helpless when they snuck up on me.these beings are not friendly period.they will kill you in a second.its scary that people go looking for these beings with there children.stay aware of what's around u and listen.
Every time I go up there vehicles on my ass every where I go. Pouring rain, dark, mountain pass, & you’re on my ass doing the speed limit. Why? And you have NC tags so you’re not from out of state mostly.
Stop trying to scare us . We don’t need anymore of that. Thousands of accidents happen every day from drunks , distracted driving and so on. Not just in the smoky mountains.
In 1979 my mother, sister and I went to the smokies in August. The park was packed because the gas shortages that had interfered with families ‘ travel plans earlier in the summer were easing. I was driving around a blind curve along 321 when I saw some idiot trying to pass another vehicle in my lane. On my right was the edge of a slope that dropped 30 feet to the river with no shoulder and no railing. He was maybe 20 feet away from us when he got halfway back into his lane and there was enough of a space to my right to avoid a collision that would have sent us over the edge. To this day it’s probably the closest My sister and I gave ever come to death.

The internet is such a garbage heap. I'm going home.
I'm wondering if it even sounded right to her when she said over 12 million in a day. Well in one year that's still a lot

so far this year, the weather has been awful but the thru hikers have been able to make it off trail as necessary.

12,000,000 a day? I think that’s per year, not a day.

Usually young adult men in their make shift hotrods....we have them here in Staten Island NY too.
People from the mountains don't like flatlanders and tailgaiting is their passive aggressive way to show it. That's been my experience with them.

12 million visitors a day😂😂
What. We can't outlaw this too
Twelve million visitors per year, not daily.
What about the missing people in the park?
