In that period from the late 70's to the early 80's, "SCTV" was second to none. Just hilarious. The McKenzie Brothers skit aka "The Great White North" was so popular it led to a fun, but low budget feature film called "Strange Brew". About a decade later, "SNL" had its own version of Bob & Doug, it was, of course, "Wayne's World". That skit led to 2 really popular feature films for Paramount.
I also liked the Schmenge Brothers on 'SCTV". They got really hip and got into new wave with "Power to the Punk People Polka" which I still sing in the shower to this day.
