$40 is wild. In Thailand that amount would cost you a dollar. But yeah you gotta do what you gotta do Also some of them don't have seeds in them. That's pretty common in a bag of mangosteens. I don't think yours are genetically modified. I would describe mangosteen as a sweet fruit with a slight acidic taste. Very delicious
I tried a new fruit last week called "Sweet Apple" ... it was an amazing experience eating it! Lots of large smooth black seeds but surrounded by the most complex flavours I've ever had. I don't know about y'all, but when I eat fruit, it takes me away somewhere... maybe to where it was grown... it's an almost mystical experience where I can loose myself in the flavours and I feel there is some sort of "wisdom" in that flavour... okay, sounds odd, but it's only when I noticed how amazing I felt when eating fruit that it really hit home how important it must be for us to eat!
