What a creative/unique adventure for Cubivore, RetroWolf88! It is definitely working for McKays as I had never heard about their business before but will make sure to see it next time in the region! Finally, I appreciate the tribute to the "King of Pop". Michael Jackson touched a lot of people like me (with his music).
This journey is one for the books…INSANE what you did to achieve this! Also, this has to be one of my favorite videos, you’ve done to date! Devon did an AWESOME job editing this together!
This reminds me of one time I stood in a long line for over an hour in blazing heat, just for the guy in front of me in line to get the game I was after. Glad you were able to get what you were looking for.
Awesome video I love it and congratulations on beating the challenge!!! Also this was so much fun to watch! I'm so glad you were successful in the end! Absolutely an epic journey brother! It really has paid off! 😁 This was definitely one for the books!
I'm a newer subscriber after seeing your booth at SEGE and just wanted to say that this video was awesome! What a crazy day man and so happy to see it ended with you getting one of the games you wanted.
Dude! You have amazing patience! I could never do this lol, people and traffic? I’m OUT!!! Lol, amazing vid though…what a journey! Mission accomplished my friend, congrats!!! ❤️🎮
Thanks for taking the audience on this trip. At 97 degrees im glad i was able to enjoy this video with the comfort of air conditioning. Awsome video! You rock dude!
Videos like this remind me how much we’ve fall in love with the journey and adventure or collecting as much as the actual items we are collecting. also how have we missed the Zelda tattoo? Looks great!
What a fun video Matt! Loved your MJ impressions when you guys were going delirious lol😂 Heat exhaustion is no joke! Glad you guys survived and thrived! 😁💪
Hey Matt, congrats on getting one of your GameCube grails. Glad to see that the McKay trip worked out for you. Unfortunately I had to work on that day or I would have done that as well. Oddly enough, I actually recognized some of the trade bait you used after seeing them on earlier trips.
@@RetroWolf_YT Yeah...I could tell that you were tired when you were at Winston-Salem. That looked like it was an exhausting trip. Glad you made it through safely.
Infinite Space is such a wonderful RPG. The only "problem" with it is that it has no quest history, so you pretty much have to remember what to do next, which means if you ever put it down to play something else and forget where you were, you pretty much have to start over, unless you want to just wonder around for a while.
This journey was interesting dude. I thought that first line in Nashville was insane!..and then came the line at Knoxville. 😂 Super cool to get the job done at the end my friend! This was awesome! 🤙🏻
Congratulations retro wolf You finally. Have completed your insane challenge To get one. Of the most rarest and most expensive games on the game cube Cubivore Survival of the Fittest. You truly did went on a fantastic journey.
Yeah I wasn't about to do all that for 800 bucks the knoxville location is my mckays I seen on the news the people falling out and stuff I accually didn't realize everyone got the 800 dollars credit though that's pretty cool of them
Man, well done. Aint no way i could have put myself through all of that for 1 game. I hate traffic and long lines but you managed to pull it off. My hat off to you 👍 Also, you traded the entire stack thats valued at 750 bucks for a 550 dollar game? Why?
So when you trade games at a convention to a vendor they usually only give you about 60 to 70% trade credit. It's no different than trading games into a game store. You are not going to get full value. He gave me an incredible trade deal.
@@RetroWolf_YT your content lately has been brilliant mate really enjoyed recent videos! Would love to see a video of you talking round your game room and what inspired you to set up things specific ways etc. I've currently moved in with my girlfriend and downsized my game room and I'm struggling to get it just right
I’ve gone to McKays in me and a few times. Everything Nintendo or jrpg is like double price charting. I would just end up buying low dollar stuff. And every time I would walk out spending like 70-90 bucks, get home and look at all the trash I bought with that and realized how not worth it that place is. Haven’t been back.
Their prices are wildly inconsistent. When I was browsing for my trade bait games, I skipped over anything that was priced over current eBay. I did manage to get several games that were under current eBay and then some that were right at eBay. It is very odd how inconsistent they are. But more often then not they overprice most things
Wolf do you have alot of those portable shirts because i get confused thinking i done watched the video before? I watch almost every video every week great content
So the good thing is food, lodging and gas was paid for in a way where it didn't factor into this negatively. So my expenses ended up ultimately being $0
Retro wolf. Have you ever been to the retro game store in dalton? I just found out about it. Dude said he has been open for 13 years. Everything very reasonably priced. It's called battle grounds
Ngl, this seems like a miserable experience to me…😅 but the promise of $800 credit / free copy of Cubivore at the end of it, might have been enough to get me to sack up and deal lol Either way, it certainly made for an epic video 🔥🤘
Do you already own these GC games: Freedom Fighters, Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble, Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica X? Those were doubles you traded in for that Cubivore game. It would’ve been very hard to get those back if those were singles you traded in.
Realistically how many people went to all 5? Seems like a terrible business move for that company. Im not familiar with that store, why were there so many people in general? Were there like regular deals?
Surprisingly 1000s of people made it to all 5 stores. And this business move paid off for them enormously because they got an INSANE amount of free advertising and now 10s of 1000s of people now know about the stores. There were tons of people because McKays is a legendary store and this challenge was super fun.
How much was gas and Mann you time? How can you say you added it free, I would have traded you just for the game games you had been trying to get resident evil code Veronica for a while now
All the expenses for the trip were paid for in other ways that were not out of my personal income or pocket. So there truly were no expenses I had to pay for that factored into this game.
So grateful to have joined you on this journey brother!!! Good times🔥
Dude I'm glad you were there! We had a blast and it would not have been the same without you!

That game now has a super epic story tied to it. That needs to stay in the collection forever.
It definitely will!!

i like how mckay's does this in the hottest month of the year instead of doing it in like late november when the weather is nice.
Haha I know, it was insane

Haha it really does!!
Epic journey dude! Wish I would I have known about this! I gotta do this next time. Awesome video bro!
So this was for their 50th Anniversary, so sadly I am not sure there will be a next time. Unless they do it again for their 100th haha

Thanks I appreciate it!!
This was definitely one for the books! Fantastic video brother
Appreciate ya Marcus!
At least if you enjoy a road trip, this event/ challenge would make for a fun time. So awesome you were able to do this and score that Gamecube Gem.
We had so much fun! We were zombies by the end of the day haha
Over 1000 miles for one game? Now that's commitment!
Haha I don't mess around!
What did it cost in gas and bnb?
Nothing, I was able to get it paid for without using my own personal income thankfully. So that doesn't factor into it.

Just wondering: How did you get the store credit even tho you didn't visit the Mebane one? You said Winston Salem was the last visit that day.
They made it to where you could either visit Mebane OR Winston-Salem and get credit for both. So you only had to visit one
