I met Donna Pescow in 81 what a nice lady. There was ad on TV for the movie "The Bible" and she turns to me with a shrug and says, "The book was better."
I loved it. Doris Roberts played her mother, and I think Robert Hayes her husband or boyfriend. I recall it had a live audience; I can always tell. I didn't know it was on YT. I'll have to look.
So glad to have found this channel. Steve Kmetko is conducting master classes in how to conduct interviews that enhance the guests. One of the great listeners, he never interrupts or brings the focus back to him but offers the viewer the opportunity to know these well known people without hype or falseness.
Really? It seemed like he didn't do his homework very well. Named the wrong award she received and said he saw Travolta dance with Uma Thurman in Get Shorty. It was Pulp Fiction.
I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts at the same time Donna was there (1974-75). It was her second year, my first. I clearing remember watching one of her exam plays (cannot remember the name of the play) that we were all required to do at the end of the year and thought is was so very talented. I also remember watching "Saturday Night Fever" for the first time and seeing Donna (as Annette) and saying to a friend of mine, "OMG...I went to acting school her!!!" Then, a few years later, I saw her on the TV show "Angie", which was a very good show with a superb cast. I don't know Donna personally, however, I'm so happy for all of her success, and proud that our paths crossed in the 70s. I wish her continued success! ❤ P.S. GREAT interview!⭐
I really like Donna as an actress! I'm 46 years old, when I first saw Donna was on TV on the TV show Out Of This World! I loved that show and she played her part as Evie's Mom so well! The next thing I saw her in was Saturday Night Fever! My mouth dropped........I remember thinking THATS EVIE'S MOM???!!!!! LOL She is amazing! Thank you for this interview! ❤
I've always been familiar with and a fan of Donna Pescow back from SNF's initial success. I'm familiar with much of her career and waited the entire episode for what I considered the most intriguing casting/role of her career to be mentioned and Steve finally DID! I said out loud "Thank God he brought it up!" That's the AMC role because I remember watching the entire storyline & being so enthralled by the fact that this known, really sort well-regarded actress would take that on. She was great but I've always been curious about her experience doing it. So thanks, this is the 1st time I've heard her discuss it!
I love you both! I crossed "paths" with Donna, briefly, while going up the stairs to set when I had a part on "General Hospital" and she was lovely, just as lovely and elegant and endearing as she is here on the show. Thank you for the interview Steve and Donna!
I never understood why Donna Pescow's Annette wasn't the female lead in "Saturday Night Fever" instead of Karen Lynn Gorney. As small as her part was, she made a greater impact. I remembered Annette as a tragic figure trying to get Tony back and ending up facing the worst nightmare when it goes out of her way. I wish the film had explored more of her character in Saturday Night Fever or had her back in the campy sequel, Tony realizing she was the one who got away.
1st Donna played part of an iconic ground breaking lesbuan couple on AMC. The great comedy Angie. Of course an iconic film....Saturday Night Fever. Steve Thanj You, Thank You for being still....A CLASS ACT interviewer. Not hitting below the belt just to embarrass the guest or to talk to talk.
I just love Donna Pescow. She was great on Saturday Night Fever. I just loved her in Angie. I never missed an episode, and Robert Hayes really made a great husband for her in that series. Being very young at the time I really thought they would get married in real life. Doris Robert's always played a great Italian mother figure, and she really was hilarious. I'm so happy to see Donna again, and she looks fantastic!❤
I never understood what Tony saw in Stephanie. What a conniving, b-breaker AND danced like a Clydesdale horse. Ugh. The actress got the role because she was the director's girlfriend at the time.
The first episode of Angie is online, and it is very sweet. It's very upbeat and happy in a way that "Dharma and Greg" was for my generation (X). I loved the season 1 cast, Donna Pescow and Robert Hays should be rehired on a contemporary show to play parents as a nod to their sensational chemistry and this show. Not sure why "Angie" was retooled in Season 2 (with Tammy Lauren and Diane Robin leaving), let alone why it was moved around on the television schedule. Television networks, forever a mystery.
Have always loved Donna. And how nice to see Steve Kmetko after all this time. I remember him from LA news broadcasts. I feel SNF soundtrack is possibly the greatest movie music of all time.
Donna's comment about losing every patient if she had become a doctor had me bursting with laughter.... I know where she's coming from....art in all it's different form's is a life saver for many people (no pun intended)..... I also remember watching 'Angie' on telly and enjoying it alot...was the guy from 'Flying High'. (also known as 'Airplane') in it?
She's very modest. I saw her interviewed promoting some sort of Roaring 20s period piece drama- I forgot the title- and she said she was just five feet tall and they dressed her in furs and plumage, and Donna rolled her eyes and said, "Oh, I looked gorgeous!"
Love Donna Pescow. ABC foolishly mishandled the “Angie” series, which should have been a long running hit, by changing the schedule in its second season (they also damaged top 10 hits “Happy Days”, “Laverne & Shirley” and “Mork & Mindy” the same year with all the scheduling moves, and none of those series ever ranked in the top 10 again). They also kept revamping “Angie” - changing houses, workplaces, supporting characters, etc.
Nice interview… but it seemed like Steve would jump back to SNF randomly during the conversation… especially in the last ten minutes or so. Also, no mention of “Out of This World?” Did Donna personally request that? It’s part of her history, and fans would love to know the good and bad of it. Regardless, great conversation and Donna is a gem.
Angie was a huge top ten hit its first season. Then ABC decided to move the series in its second season, thus sabotaging this great sitcom. Thankful we have two seasons of this great show (one of my faves in my DVD collection)
Her scene in Saturday Night Fever was harrowingly painful. What a horrible role to play. She had her own show on TV and wondered what she was up to. She got a lot of attention at one point but then we never heard from her.
SNF was another example of a mediocre movie with an exceptional soundtrack. Travolta got way too much credit for that movie. All he was doing was a recycled Vinnie Barbarino.

Donna looks GREAT!
She does!! I loved her in the 80s sitcom!❤❤
"Angie" was such an underrated tv show. So glad episodes are on RUclips!
I loved it. Doris Roberts played her mother, and I think Robert Hayes her husband or boyfriend. I recall it had a live audience; I can always tell. I didn't know it was on YT. I'll have to look.
I remember loving her as ‘Angie’,great show too! Loved ‘Saturday Night Fever’ as well.
where can i find the episodes
I used to love watching her show "Angie". I was sad when it was canceled. Great fun to watch and the cast was spectacular!
Me tooo
A lot of people forget that show along with the fact that Doris Roberts was also in it.
'Angie' had the best theme song, Sung be Maureen McGovern.....still listen to it.
@@stargazer1359d show!😊😊😊
What a wonderful lady, so unassuming and lovely to listen to, thank you
Angie has one of the best sitcom intro songs ever!
I still have to see this movie a couple of times a year. Donna definitely has kept grounded her whole career!!! 🤍

Love Donna! Beautiful lady! Very talented! Wishing her all the best!

Who is watching now in 2024, Donna is a beautiful and talented girl
This interview occurred roughly 3 weeks ago, so, anyone watching and commenting will be 2024
Loved Donna in the final episode of The Sopranos, “Made in America.”❤❤❤❤
Great interview. Donna looks fantastic!!
she looks great...classy lady - her Angie series should have been on longer!
Loved watching that show with my mom.
Donna is such an outstanding actress. I wish she would do some dramatic network series. Excellent interview! Love, love her!❤️
I loved Angie! Great theme song, too.
The "Angie" theme song, "Different Worlds," was sung by Maureen McGovern. The same woman who sang Superman's "Can You Read My Mind."
And The Morning After from The Posiedon Adventure.
@@romerjusu3804 love Maureen, too! Great singer.
Steve huge fan. Donna looks incredible......Steve you still look great.....

Man she was so cute in the day and I recently saw her on Match Game '79 😁👍🏻
Now she's aging gracefully 😎✌
She’s gorgeous
Brooklyn! SBHS! Such an incredibly classy, funny, gracious, and humble woman. I always love hearing her speak. Thank you for years of entertainment.
I have always been a big fan of Donna’s. Nice to see her in this interview.

Karen's father wrote the Depression Anthem "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?"
I loved seeing Tony and Annette reunited in the Capital One holiday ads last year.
@@akrenwinkle Jay Gorney. He also discovered Shirley Temple.
She was great in SNF, played it efficiently given just a handful of scenes. Scene leading up to, and including the bridge, packed a punch.
I work in a movie theater we held Saturday night fever for 3 months I have too say Donna you played the part perfect did great
You still work in that theater?

Bravo Steve and Donna! A great interview.
The 70s was a happy decade for me.
She is still beautiful and kind.
Great interview.
To see a pretty actress who has aged naturally and gracefully is such a rare and wonderful thing. She still looks like HERSELF.
I always felt that the Annette character was way cuter than Stephanie.
Yes! That has ALWAYS BUGGED ME!!!!!!!😂
Definitely a much better actress too.
I never understood what Tony saw in Stephanie. What a conniving, b-breaker AND danced like a Clydesdale horse. Ugh. The actress got the role because she was the director's girlfriend at the time.

Worked with Lee Strasberg!!!!!!......the girl has been incredibly lucky!
John Travolta dances with Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, not Get Shorty.
They danced in both, but 'Pulp Fiction' was first.
@@alisonmoran5396 but wasn’t the famous dance they did together in Pulp Fiction?

Donna was the best dancer in Saturday night fever,,much better than Stephanie.
She looks good.
My mom was Shirley Rich the casting director for Saturday Night Fever
That movie had a great cast. Your Mom did a fantastic job. The Academy needs to start awarding Oscars to casting directors.
She was in Angie
She was great in Saturday night fever
I remember her in Out of this World when I was a little kid in the 80s. 😂❤
Lord i loved her in out of this world
Me too! I'm surprised it didn't come up in the conversation.
I have always loved this woman. She and Patti Lupone could be sisters.
I jus Love Hah! ;)
Ms. Pescow looks lovely, vibrant - and the host isn't bad looking either :)

She seems intelligent.
I think John Travolta And Uma Thurman dance in Pulp Fiction
The nanny, too. Steve, glad you're around. Was kirk giraud's nieman marcus co-worker's boyfriend in the day. Take care, angie baby.🎉
I thought she nailed that character. I bet you'd ask me to LAY down.
John Travolta Uma Thurman Pulp Fiction
It was Pulp Fiction - John and Uma - not Get Shorty
Donna, you were blessed....not lucky.
SHE STILL LOOKS AND SOUNDS THE SAME.
Wouldn't the world be better if the 'good' girls were ridiculed and the 'bad' girls praised.
Curious why her eyes are so much darker now. Her eyes were super striking in the movie.
Yes they were more hazel
Wasn’t it Pulp Fiction that John Travolta and Uma Thurman danced in?
Nice interview… but it seemed like Steve would jump back to SNF randomly during the conversation… especially in the last ten minutes or so.

Angie was a huge top ten hit its first season. Then ABC decided to move the series in its second season, thus sabotaging this great sitcom. Thankful we have two seasons of this great show (one of my faves in my DVD collection)
And such a terrific supporting cast with Doris Roberts, Robert Hays and Debralee Scott!
Travolta danced with Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, not Get Shorty
All i did was like you😊
Most of the women John danced with were very short I noticed that in this film. I wonder if he requested that or was it organic.
Her scene in Saturday Night Fever was harrowingly painful. What a horrible role to play. She had her own show on TV and wondered what she was up to. She got a lot of attention at one point but then we never heard from her.
Didn’t she have a bit part in the Sopranos too?
😊
I literally did not recognize the host until he said his name. Getting old sux.
Uma Thurman and John Travolta danced together in Pulp Fiction, not Get Shorty.
Hosting the party of my dreams. I introduce Uma Thurman to Huma Abedin. "Uma, Huma. Huma, Uma."
Steve Kmetko was such a beautiful man in his youth that I was so attracted to him that the attraction confirmed for me that I am gay.
no...he danced with uma in pulp fiction
Why was donna pescow not supposed to be on drake & josh from nickelodeon?
so she didnt correct him when he said gay john danced with Uma in get shorty?!?!?
Damn ! That annoying background music. It's a damn Interview, not a soundtrack 🙄😏
SNF was another example of a mediocre movie with an exceptional soundtrack. Travolta got way too much credit for that movie. All he was doing was a recycled Vinnie Barbarino.
Pulp fiction....not Get Shorty
Host seems sad to me. Just an observation. No judging.❤ Hope I'm wrong.
She looks great! But why is the host dressed so tacky and unkept?
She's wearing camouflage
