Nice, We did some testing a few years agoon this as well. Results were mediocre.
Just as you experienced, the speed was S.L.O.W... but I guess that's just a trade off that will have to be accepted inorder to have an auto dump bed. lol.
Did you get the one with that auto stop feature?

Could you put the hydraulic assist cylinder in tandem with the electric actuator so that it aids the actuator? Basically one on either side of the top and bottom brackets.

You would have to seriously modify the hydraulic assist because it has a stud coming off of it. I suppose you could though. I've seen people use 2 Electric actuators in the same way.

I see the accuator mounted in single shear. How's that working for you? Being an "Let's overbuild it Engineer" I would have mounted 2 accuators lifts (one on each side of the bed) and built both with bouble shear mounts.
On my Brister truck, my beds pivot point is not on the end of the bed so when lifting the bed part of the weight of the load is already helping with weight balance. I used 2 of the 300 lb lifts (like your first one) and mounted them in double shear brackets that I attached to the bed framing with rivnuts and welded the lower brackets up to the actual frame of the truck. Also, I modified my tailgate so I can remove the pivot pins at the bottom, and leave the upper pins in place, to make a flap door at the bottom. Put a short length of chain as a limit and open the tailgate at the bottom for spreading out my gravel more evenly. More like a rock hauler would do to lay down a few inches at a time while they drive off. I have a 450' long driveway and it needs more gravel every few years. I have been known to put 4 big scoops of gravel in mine.
Love my yard truck. Unloaded a huge 12KW generator off a semi with it Friday. Couple of years ago I built a rack on the front because I also have an "A" frame hoist attachment. The front rack was intended to be for holding counter balance, but Friday I just slide the generator partially off the trucks trailer. Tossed a strap around it to tie it to the rool cage, and backed up to pull it off the rest of the way. Truck driver was amazed it looked so easy. Those Yard Trucks are more handy than pockets on shirts.

It is working fine so far. I just used the OEM mounting point. If it ever breaks I will re-engineer things!

Is there anyway you could make a video of the p700 loaded with couple hundred pounds of corn or firewood going up a steep hill? I'm in the market to buy one. But. I'm afraid it won't have the power I need. I currently have a p500 and. It will pull anything if it hold traction which is why I went with it to start with. But am wa ting more room now.

Well I'm not going to make a video but I often carry a full bed of oak logs in the bed and it has almost no effect on the performance of this machine. My property is all hills by the way.
