- I had the pleasure to talk to one of my favorite recording engineer's Phill Brown. Phill has worked with so many artists, from Talk Talk to Little Feat to Dido to Bombay Bicycle Club. All is detailed in his amazing book '' Are We Still Rolling?''. Phill engineered on three of many favorite and best sounding albums Talk Talk-Spirit Eden, Laughing Stock and Mark Hollis's solo album. I loved the conversation. #phillbrown #talktalk #markhollis
Phill is the man. Great interview. It's fascinating to hear his thoughts on the transitions from primitive analog recording techniques, to advanced analog, to early digital, and now to advanced digital/DAWs.
Hey man, glad you liked it. Yeah, he is a proper legend.
Very cool Paul. Great to have this recorded and documented, he's a gentleman. Spoke to him a couple of years ago and he we chatted for ages about Talk Talk.
Hey Rory. Thanks for the message. Yeah, he's a total legend. I did another podcast with him last month. I think it's episode 57
Lovely interview - thanks.
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
You most def. have to do a part 2. Great interview. You did a great job letting it breathe. Big up.
Thank you for the comment. There is a second podcast with Phill I did. It's here ruclips.net/video/qhhdVjsqV8o/видео.html
@@PaulMelia Great! Thanks for the reply.
Thanks so much for giving Phill the time&space to float through his journey!👍🏻😍
Hi, thank you for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it.
That was awesome! Having read the very interesting book of Phill Brown, 'Are We Still Rolling?', and the book of Ben Wardle about Mark Hollis and Talk Talk, 'Mark Hollis - a perfect silence', also a great read, next to the book 'Spirit of Talk Talk' with a lot of pictures and the drawings of James Marsh, this interview was such a joy!
Finally seeing a person live, to hear Phill Brown tell his experiences with these kind gestures, sitting in his own environment, was very endearing. What great music on records his legacy is, from so many great musicians. And the wonderful memory he has, amazing.
Thank you so much for this interview Paul Melia and Phill Brown, it's a treasure!
Thank you for your lovely comment. Much appreciated 😊
Just received a PhD in engineering listening to Phil Brown. Especially, loved the Hollis, Marley and Hendrix anecdotes. And just checked out Pepe Deluxe, they're awesome. Thank you
