- I am happy to welcome back Phill Brown to the podcast. Phill has re-released the AV1 record he did with Dave Allinson which can bought/streamed at av1music.bandc.... We discussed the record, Talk Talk, Hendrix, Traffic and much more. It is always a pleasure to speak with Phill. #talktalk #markhollis #phillbrown
Highly enjoyable 1 hour 45 listening to Phill talking Faithless , Red Box , Robert Palmer , 10,000 Things , Mark Hollis and the benefits of analogue tape
Thank you. 😊
great interview, big Fan of Phil brown and Laughing stock and the Hollis Albums are in my top five records of all time, thanks
Glad you dug it. Thanks for the comment.
Phill recently mixed my next release featuring two guys from the band Japan! Sounds amazing!
Mark Hollis was a tremendous musical artist. Spirit of Eden, Laughing Stock virtually invented 'post-rock' as we know it. RIP Mark.
Thank you for another great interview @paulmelia. I seem to be working my way through your catalogue in non-chronological order. I just listened to AV1 and it's a transcendental experience. Any idea how Hollis' installation music can be heard?
BTW, saw the Tina Turner concert live in Newark, NJ. I think it was on her 69th or 70th birthday and she rocked the entire arena, just as Phil described. She ran off stage and onto a narrow arm of a cherry picker and proceeded to dance her ass off in stiletto heels. Legend!
Hey that's great to hear. He did a thing called Arb Section 1, it's on RUclips. Tina Turner what a talent she was. I watched that same concert as you. Amazing. If you wanna follow me on Spotify the podcast it on there. It should be linked to my music page if not just search Hold Onto The Colours Podcast open.spotify.com/artist/6HhvllAoAXbPD6d4QQY0N1?si=C8M0HLA1THiedkkInUP_eg
Dude you rock! @@PaulMelia I'm now following you spotify too. 👍
@@rudegirlnycloy How kind of you to say. Thank you 😊
I am so sad to see Phill being traumatized by the LS experience , heartbreaking
You can tell it was super intense doing those records.
Making truly great art is a painful process.
