Ron Carter, omnipresente, con los más grandes de la historia siempre Ron Carter, sin duda uno de los mejores contrabajistas que la música ha podido tener
Man he is incredibly gifted
Genius!! The whole band is brilliant and Ron Carter is so in the moment, thats a bass player.
Gonzalo's articulation is beyond human
Wauw, that was great!! Erik
love how he deconstructs the tune, esp in the beginning, sounds rather a bit like west african music...not surprised. when asked the diff between cuban jazz and other jazz he said, "el ritmo." and what he does melodically and harmoncially is as complex as any development in the sonata form. wow.
It sounded nothing like Donna Lee to me? 😮
Genial
Impresionante...!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎹
Amazing
Amazing!!! 🎹💎
Based on Miles Davis “Autobiography”, this composition was written by him!; that’s, for sure, is true: Miles couldn’t be a lier...he was a sincere person!
!!!
2:33 Uff
1:49
Genial!!! (Donna Lee es de Miles Davis)
Rubalcaba fait un tabac !!!
No entiendo.....en computer...u
Machine.......no sentir Blue....sorry.
On a du mal à reconnaître le thème !🙄
What’s even happening waaaah
The fact that someone knows how to do a nonsensical thing very well doesn’t make it a great thing. This is about the tune. What about the ‘rest’ of the music? Well, there are great moments of something (that is not about ‘Donna Lee’ nor its changes). That is the good part of what the group played. Is it genius? Not at all; it’s ‘only’ genuine, and that is all we should care about when we deal with art.
A hideous beginning and then a lot of meaningless notes. He is not a soloist just a show-off.
Envy much?
How is this Donna Lee? Same chords? Definitely not the melody.
Yes, the chord changes, and he quotes the melody at the beginning of the tune.
u dont need the melody. its the chords....and alot of bebop tunes are the changes of swing era tunes, so they will say donna lee IS indiana, e.g. so the tune is identified by the changes, not necc the melody....usually they will quote the melody in the beginng, as he does....See Lennie Tristano how he does that on the album The New Tristano
sing the melody to it (starting at 1:52), you can tell - though it's moving very fast and lots of substitutions. Obviously the whole thing is a solo and the actual melody is never played verbatim.
The head is kind of quoted several times in the first choruses. The rest is improv on the changes.
Who’s the drummer ?
