It actually kinda was, every ds model has built in gameboy support, even the 3ds models that removed the slot, thats why gameboy emulating on the ds is the best possible option if you dont want to use a regular gameboy and other then no trading support (because link cables aren’t possible) it works perfectly for pokemon and etc
@@Nolabray21actually most people say that in technicality, DS/3DS aren’t used for gba emulation, it runs natively so why emulate it in the first place? Just like how on 3DS there’s not a single DS emulator because people just run it natively, I think there may or may not be GBA emulators on 3DS for some reason but they aren’t exactly needed for any reason

actually this idea originated from a channel called retro future her in RUclips a couple of years ago. it's a channel that has really cool gameboy projects, but it sucks to see the creater of this video make no reference to the channel, seeing as how that's where he got the idea, or possibly stole it. I really hope this isn't the case.

The ds is a great console no doubt, but gba feels much nicer imo to physically hold. realizing I'll need to adapt for x and y buttons. Hmm. I have no clue what I'm doing but this could be fun project to do destroy good equipment with and learn from
@@GameboyCustom it sure was, I still got one my other one broke now they expensive the sp ones. I love the gba sp more than the other Nintendo handhelds, I also love the Vita as well. There some cheap handhelds out there under 100 dollars.
If i made the DS i would make the touchscreen for watching youtube seperately while also playing games on other screen. Like i never understood the need for a useless second screen that just wastes battery and you cant disable it.

I found something similar to this at a thrift store but the screen didn't flip up instead it slid up to reveal a touch screen underneath but when I took it apart I saw it had a ds motherboard inside. It's really cool to see someone's crazy modded console but I just can't believe I randomly found it at a thrift store

Second of all I feel it would be a waste time making a video that's just going to suck badly and plus I'm extremely busy almost all the time so I don't think I'd have the time to make a video. I hope this works out well!!! I've seen people use a faceplate with SP buttons where the bottom screen is, I'm not sure what else the bottom screen could be, only thing I can think of is that dual screen SP that runs the original screen and an IPS screen you can switch in between, but this is amazing sir :)

This is what I would have loved compared to the sp we got, I loved the advanced but hated the sp but loved the screen of the sp
