Catch the first episode of 4 Doors and GT4's tonight at 9pm Eastern where Race Engineer Aaron Phifer and myself will breakdown the IMSA support series races at Mid-Ohio! ruclips.net/user/livesdm5S5yIeyw?feature=share
Places to watch at Watkins Glen. Turn 5 the long right hand from the bus stop down into Turn 6 heading down into the boot. Turn 5 is faster and bring more speed into the boot. The toe of the boot (turn 7) this year for some reason has been the trouble corner for everyone that as run at Watkins Glen this year. The end of Turn 6 has seen a out of troubles as well. But, Turn 9 has not been quiet nor has the Bus stop. Both have been active and cause drivers troubles. The Duck pond (gas area between outer and inter loop) has grabbed cars from drivers and sent them for a ride though it or into the run off. Of course can not for get the tricky 90 (turn 1) is waiting to grab any driver that pushes a bit to far in braking after the long Front Straightaway. IMSA drivers have their work cut out and the track is faster. So, look for a new track record. With faster speed there is a higher work load on the engines and So, far we have seen a huge up tick in blown engines. With 56 cars to be in the field and around 40 for the other series racing this weekend. Fans are in for a great show with Racing starting Friday Afternoon. I do go to Watkins Glen very week cause I'm at a station. I hope this small break down helps.
1:28 😎. Excited to see the second IMSA running of the GTP Lambo. Are you planning to bring merch to WGI? I'm definitely in for a hat and a shirt, would love to take shipping out of it. Or do you have them drop shipped?
Really appretiate you sending those over, they're great to demonstrate the different configurations of the curbs! I won't be bringing any merch for sale to the Glen as it's all print on demand! What I can do though is add some promos to the site though! Everything will be 25% off tomorrow and I added a free shipping promo from the 19th-23rd! off-in-the-esses.myspreadshop.com/
@@offintheesses WOW! That's incredibly generous of you. I had a feeling they were drop shipped/print to order (thus, the edit to the post). My schedule for the 6 hours is still a little TBD (not camping because the bed is 15inutes from the track), but hope to be able to catch you at some point during a support race.
@@DnBBHox No worries! I'll be around all weekend and am going to do a meetup on Saturday after Weathertech Qualifying! If you see me around then say hi!
Haha! It’s actually a choice to focus all of my time on the IMSA side of things! I only have the time right now to focus on one championship really well and for me that’s IMSA!
I'm predicting a Turner Motorsport win to put them right back in the Championship fight. The pace and strategy have been on point in Long Beach and Laguna Seca especially
It's also trouble that the 1st 3 hours are on USA with the finish on Peacock. Fantastic racing tripleheader on USA Sunday but would've been nice to at least show a tape delayed finish for fans that don't have Peacock. 6 Hours at the Glen is always 1 of the best races of the year.
Why don't tracks make the turns track-rumble strip-armco/wall, or run the rumble strap all the way to the armco/wall...or better/cheaper yet, forget about all of it and let 'em run. Added note: My buddy and I rode our motorcycles to Mid-Ohio, up from Charlottte, last week (camping) for the GT weekend and the LMP3 class raced. That was fun watching and listening to them. Great weekend and great racing.
Sounds like what you're describing is a street course with virtually zero runoff. While the street courses are fun to have on the calendar I don't think anyone wants to run at them for every race! Glad you enjoyed Mid Ohio! It sounds like it was a great weekend of racing!
i love how none of the locals can make heads or tails of the glen schedule, theyve had races every weekend this month, yet you call or look on the site to get tickets and schedules, and theres nohing...they just want us to go to winery weekend and the nascar race in september.
It’s only one curb in the bus stop that has been modified. Drove two days at WGI last month, it’s not nearly as impactful as the pictures make it seem. Can’t cut as deep at the entry, but there’s no change to the exit.
Hum, I'm actually more looking forward to the Spa 24 Hours than this race. But, I am curious how the curbs with effect the racing in the Bus Stop. With Kyle Larson's data from the last Cup race, it sounds like they need to do something with the that area to prevent driver long-term injury issues. The Cup cars are much more like a souped-up GT3 car than most people want to believe. But, we will see seen.
the cup cars are still a stock car with a tubular chassis. most, if not all gt cars are racing bred monocoque/unibody mount chassis. garage 56 was too cool of an idea, and had too many good results at le mans, probly why we saw notjing of it this year, every one was and still is kind if shocked by how well it did last year...less of a souped up gt car than a muscle car in a gt setting😊 theyve run nascar chassis and motors in the transam series, and can am cars for over 20 years, nascar has been run at the glen over 30 years😊
Porsche is gonna be hard to beat in the championship. They crossed the line first in 3 of the last four races this season last year. Road Atlanta was the only spot they struggled for pace in comparison to acura and Cadillac. Sure all it takes is one crash out and the championship could flip in favor of another car but the 7 has a healthy lead and the 6 seems to be ramping it up. Acura seems to far out with both cadillacs and porsches ahead by a healthy margin. Its unlikely the 40 can make up the gap to the all four of those cars. The cadillacs have missed too many good opportunities and took a hit on BOP that clearly was fealt at detroit.
maybe since nascar owns the glen, they will have the garage 56 car show up and do a few exhibition laps fir us this year, since its already a basement dweller😅

Can’t wait to be there this weekend. Bringing my dad as his Father’s Day gift since we can’t make the VIR race this year
Enjoy that time with your dad! Awesome memory to make.
That’s awesome, hope you guys have a great time! I’ll be around all weekend, if you see me say hi!
Excellent! Enjoy.
Nice video. Looking forward to how those curbs perform.
0:49 Flashbacks to formula racing at monza at parabolica 😬
Curbs on a chicane. what could go wrong?

The 2024 Sahlen 6hrs at the Glen has been a blast.😊
They should take a note from dirt tracks and put white painted tractor tires inside the turns
100th like🎉
Thanks for the roundup, Stu! See you in Wisonsin!
Ayyyyy glad you enjoyed it! Road America is coming up fast!
Just curious, where did you get that PFAFF Porsche?
Torontomotorsports.com! They do all the pfaff gear as well!

Yeah it's unfortunate that the whole race can't be broadcast on USA, we're in for a good one!

Will we see the SC63 a the glen? any information of that, or was Lamborghini only doing their gtp at sebring?
Yes, Indy and road Atlanta too
@@zombiegutkill8043 sweet, its a cool loioking car and im glad its on the grid again
Yup it will be on the grid this weekend!
Lamborghini is doing the endurance rounds this year so yes, they will be there. Wish they would come to Road America

Hopefully the Prototypes won't have issues with it, that seemed to be where lots of drivers had concerns.
sounds like it will be more like 6 hours of traffic...lol...itll still be fun tho, its always the party weekend after le mans😊😊

i'm sensing a Risi win, hopium after lemans

Good now they will actually have to drive the bus stop as it was intended to be driven.

That would be incredible if they did! Last year they had an electric Porsche Cup car doing demonstration laps that certainly turned a lot of heads
Loving it❤ Le mans? 24 hours watching cars go round and round😢No thank you.....the Glen is going to be a lot more entertaining.😊
What are you talking about? Very similar race format just a quarter of the length. Nothing wrong with Le Mans.
