I think it would seem that way. Snakes unfortunately lack the intellectual capacity to feel love, compassion, or thankfulness. That's not to say snakes are bad creatures. Quite the opposite. They're my most favorite animals of all time. Plus, most are very tolerant to being handled, like this bull snake in the video.
@@expiredwater4118 Not exactly, There are not many studies on the intelligence of these animals, but about many personal experiences, the conclusion I've drawn is that they have the ability to feel these feelings, but the way to express them is different from ours, just like most other reptiles, for example birds will express love in a different way than a cat, and snakes doesn't have facIal expressions or eyelids, so it's difficult to figure out what they're felling
I rescued a wild gopher snake once. He drank water just like that. He was so calm and gentle for a 3 foot wild snake. He even let me handle him a little but I tried not to stress him out too much
"You're not listening to a word I'm saying" lol How stinking cool? love it when they take a drink like that. Smart move to have "pets" out there, a lot less maintenance.
I love how kind you are to every animal you find. Snakes turn so docile once they realize you don't intend to hurt them. Most animals don't really ever seem to realize you won't, but reptiles usually do. Probably because unlike a rabbit, which has big teeth that can do a lot of damage, snakes just make tiny pin pricks. Their best bet if their initial attacks don't work is to just make peace with you and avoid agitating you.. Or pretending to be dead.
Pecos Hank, thank you for being so kind to this snake. My husband and I live in Colorado, and are in the habit of rescuing bull snakes in the summer (although I have never had one drink from my hand!). This is one of my favorite snakes! Thanks again for being a very kind soul.
I have a pet bullsnake- they are wonderful intelligent animals, but I live in the UK so we don't get them in the wild. This is such a heartwarming video, I love it!
Priceless, love how you gave that handsome fella a "dad speech" about ladies, and road dangers, finishing off with a nice cool drink.. This video should have way more views as nd likes😊👍🐍 Thank you so much for sharing and best wishes always..
This is a perfect video showing how docile bull snakes are. Even wild specimens are rather laid back, even more so in captivity, honestly, they should just make top 5 list of best snakes. They can easily push the milk snake out of top 5 if they were bred by more people.
Thanks for doing that, I wish more people respected them like you do, that was a genuinely lovely moment. I love the way he looked at you after his drink. That's one of my fave RUclips clips of all time, I'm gonna be watching that a lot.
I love to watch them drink! Thank you for giving him a nice drink of water! They are some of the sweetest snakes ever! My son has a bullsnake so they hold a special place in my heart!
Getchu some! Haha Oh boy, do I love when snakes gulp water, it's adorable 😍 I can't believe what a dry season it's been (for tornadic storms at least). It's good to know you're out there saving more snake friends in the meantime 😉 I hope you're well Hank! Happy trails!
That's one of the most beautiful snakes I've ever seen. Seeing him drink was amazing. I never thought about snakes drinking but of course they do, and out there in the dry desert they no doubt top up the tanks whenever they get a chance.
I love this video. I have watched a few times. Always entertaining to listen in on a snake whisperer. But absolutely love the watching the snake drink so eagerly. Makes my heart smile. Thank you for sharing. ^o^
All that was missing was Snakey stopping in the brush, looking back at Hank, and giving him a wink or a Snakey salute or something similar... This was a HOF video of a true naturalist!
Hank you're just awesome and a beautiful soul. I know it's sappy but true! thank you for rescuing that guy and hopefully helping him on his way to fatherhood.
Saw a Bullsnake in the middle of the road in Colorado, tried to move him and he definitely wasn't having it, eventually the rain pushed him off the road, but still, wish I wouldn't have just left him there.
i watched this video on my birthday in 2018 the day after it was posted and is the reason i found your storm videos and awesome music hope you do more snake videos too i love your content and wanted to say thank you for all the education and entertainment
This channel is awesome! I'm so glad I found ypu! Growing up in northeast Georgia, I've always been taught not to like snakes & to fear them, but that all changed a few years ago when I found an Eastern Kingsnake in my bathroom (of all places)! I gently picked that beauty up & released her in a safe place in the forest next to my house. Now I love them & I'm always excited to see snakes of all kinds! Keep up the good work!
Like you I wish so badly I could have a pet, I'm just not sure my current circumstances are acceptable. A little therapy snake would probably be one of the most wonderful pets I could imagine! Also that was probably the cleanest, coolest, most delicious water that snake has ever had - beats the hell out of a muddy puddle! I bet he would have drank an entire second cap.
What a cool looking little guy! I've only ever handled one snake in my life. I accidentally ran it over on my bike when I was like 8 or 9. I felt so bad that I put it on my handle bars and brought it back to my uncle to see if he could fix him.
I think what's so strange about seeing a snake drinking water is well you just don't see it all of the time But if you see a small bull snake drinking and think that's strange..well there's another video here on RUclips where you see this huge snake taking a drink and I think that their snake is like a Boa Constrictor or Python but they are beautiful, beautiful creatures.
"It's the last sound you hear before you die." "I'm going to take you down into this river so you don't get run over." "Go free snake..................VRRRROOOOOOM."
I’ve never seen a snake drink water. Don’t know what I was expecting but this surpasses anything I could have imagined
He just looked at you like “hey, thanks dude”
The way he reacted when he realized it was water is epic.
Anyone who treats animals with love and care is a hero in my eyes. Wish every human had that same kinda heart. Good work.
Agreed! Cheers Chester!
Totally agree we need more people that love and respect animals
Ja
Facts bro. A lot of people are fucking trash
the way he looked at you after completing his long drink... like he was intelligently regarding the dude who just helped him ^_^
His Chanel is pecos hank he chase a lot of tornadoes and animals
I think he wanted more water.

The 🐍 after drinks water just stares at guy like THANKS MAN
He was pretty thirsty guy, thanks for being a “ little critters hero” 😊much appreciated!
Pecos hank you are one of the young people who give me hope for the future of humanity.

When's that south Texas video gonna be ready to roll?
I am amazed by how deeply that snake drank from his cup. That was awesome, I shared it on my JJA fb page...
I woulda had it done this weekend, but then everyone planned a trip to SE CO. Herping keeps getting in the way. If you're near SE CO, stop by.
@@JungleJayAdventures ... I've never seen a snake drink so much 😆
Me neither. Awesome experience.
When you drank the last of the water he looked at you like, "WTF dude! You drank it all!" 🤣
You are truly a special man, hank! ❤️
Bless that little critter’s heart! So nice of the man to give it some water.
this literally made me smile i love snakes! i’m glad you could help this poor guy out haha
Thanks James. Hope you're doing well.
Wild Snakes no problem hank. i’m doing well even though i didn’t get ONE tornado this year. There’s always more tornadoes!
that 1 dislike was from a mouse
You are such a kind soul.

"You gonna come up for breath?"
Snake: *NO!!!*
I have a pet bullsnake- they are wonderful intelligent animals, but I live in the UK so we don't get them in the wild. This is such a heartwarming video, I love it!
Two of a few of my most favorite things combined: weather/tornadoes and snakes! :D Thanks for treating him so kindly, Hank!

Cool Video...!!! Beautiful Snake

Cheers Paul!
Really shocked at the end, I never would’ve thought a wild snake could interact like that
I love when the guy is talking to the snake, he just looks back. So cute
This guy is a storm chaser btw. Which makes this even better
I love to watch them drink! Thank you for giving him a nice drink of water! They are some of the sweetest snakes ever! My son has a bullsnake so they hold a special place in my heart!
Lol he's looking at you like: this guy right here
I love how grateful the snake seemed after taking a good drink
That sweet snake was very grateful for your gift of a drink. You are a kind soul :) .
That was the cutest thing ever
"What were you doing - crossing the crazy road highway here? What were you thinking?"
"Shhhh"
That is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen an American do. Thanks mate. I’ll have to change my view of Americans after this. Thanks again!!
Getchu some! Haha

Thanks Nina. Doing great rying to reorganize my life after the peak storm season. Hope you're seeing some pretty sights too.
I can’t believe you drank that water, but thank you for your kindness.
Friendly man: "Don't cross the road, buddy"
Snek: (・o・)
Very kind of you! I had one when I was a kid. Thanks for giving him a drink.
Sucha beautiful little guy ! They are my all time favourite snakes.
Amazing! That was pretty awesome getting to see that snake drink the water like that. Definitely a snake charmer you are 😉✌💚
:D Cheers Jacci.
I once saw a horse stick it's entire head into a tub to drink water. Cracked me up
Amazing we need more people like him , nature ask always for help and we take it for granted snakes is animals need our help and love
Thirsty in every sense of the term... :P
That's one of the most beautiful snakes I've ever seen. Seeing him drink was amazing. I never thought about snakes drinking but of course they do, and out there in the dry desert they no doubt top up the tanks whenever they get a chance.
You are everything I want to be as a storm chaser and a reptile lover!

❤️❤️❤️ I love this, have come back to watch it again. What a gorgeous snake and watching him gulp down the water is so sweet.
That was the best man and snake conversation I've seen. Who would have guess just how thirsty these little guys are!
Solidarity between two wondrous fellows. I love your love of creatures!
Just gorgeous❣️his markings are exquisite, thank you for sharing your water with him as he was soooo appreciative 🐍💦
He drank the water that the snake drank
After my cats have some milk from my cereal, I drink the rest XD

Yea it was...yea
He's from Slytherin.
Enjoyed watching this. Thank you for sharing this little moment in the day-to-day life of a bull snake.
That's beautiful. Thanks Pecos Hank 👍
That is the very first time I have ever seen a snake drink water. Pretty cool. Stay safe out there, Hank.
his little cheeks whilst drinking! haha so cute
That was so sweet of you, thank you ♥
Omg- most adorable vid of a (wild) snake ever! Esp a bull, considering their reputation upon being approached/captured.
That was GREAT! The snake Savior! He looked at you and said thank you so much for that drink of water!
I love this video. Thanks for being so nice to animals Hank.
No idea how this popped up, but that was amazing!

I'm glad to see that Gibby Haynes' side hustle is herpetology.

One thirsty snake. Apparently no transmissible diseases from snake to human. Cuteness overload.
Nice man, having a drink with a friend. I love people who care. Thanks for sharing.

This is the coolest video ever. Who has ever watched someone feed a snake water??? And that snake positively stared at you like Who are you man?
Great chatting with you today!

😂 The way the snake looked at him after the water was taken away. 😕 “Bruh. I wasn’t finished.”
Wholesome. 10/10 would watch again.
Hank schyma is such a nice person i used to listen to his album
What a sweet little guy...both of.you!!
Hank, I appreciate you! Your commentary is so enjoyable. Always looking forward to more videos from you, friend!

Good job.
I subbed because of this video. Thank you for your kindness.

Didja fix him?
I'd like to think my uncle did!
Snake said "huh my man 🙂"
Great job! Great video! This aint no snake harrasser(all over RUclips) this is the opposite(truly)
He's like Bob Ross of the reptile world!! Jim C.
1:58 "You gonna come up for a breath?"
Little does he know that while snakes only have one lung, they can hold their breath for 10 to 20 minutes.
Why does this not have a million views or more?
Bull snakes are always a cool find even in areas where they are common.
Thank you for doing this! And giving him water that was very nice :)
Beautiful Bullsnake. Reminds me of a prairie kingsnake I had that would drink while being held. 🐍

Hope he listens. You finding in swamp goodies?
Just last week, 4 pygmy Rattlesnakes and a beautiful old Watersnake. Looking to get knee deep again this weekend.
Good luck. looking forward to the video. Do you now Smetlogik? Herpers from Colorado... Commented above. Cool dudes need to know other cool dudes.
