:) As someone who to this day regrets Buddy's demise I share your feelings really. I'm in a band and we play the song Tribute to Buddy Holly by Mike Berry every gig.
That tip is within the boundary of Gateshead metropolitan council if that is any help, they might still be there. The clue is the yellow and red bin wagon
"We didn't call them singles in those days, did we." I don't know what they called them in England, but we called them 45's in The States. - I just love this English sitcom! It comes from an era I lived and loved; *The Groovin' 1970's!* (*was the concert that Bob gave donning the schoolboy cap at 4:10 a tribute to Angus Young?)
Not 45's those were 78's. They would be worth a fortune now especially the Buddy Holly ones. I would estimate the box would be worth a few thousand. To this day I mourn Buddy Holly.
@@MrMenefrego1 Yes large discs made of easily broken stuff called Shellac I think. They were singles played at 78 R.P.M. I've looked up the current value and each would be worth £50 - £60 pounds nowadays so there was thousands there if he had every Buddy Holly single and all the rest of the names he mentioned. As a collection I think it would be priceless and remembering the personality of the character they would be in mint condition. Also the comic books annuals he mentioned would be collector's items nowadays.
The best thing that could have happened to Bob would have been if there really were thieves and they kidnapped Thelma, and she was never to be seen in this show ever again!
Miss these days we didn't have a lot but looked after things, if only we had kept things, hopefully would be worth a fortune now, my gran was born in 1907,and when my mom made her move out her house, she had not alot lino on the floor with rugs
@@gingerfellah5665tbf clement and francais have said they didn’t want people to dislike her and if they did they blamed it on their writing. I’ve warmed to Thelma with age
Rediscovering this makes me realize just how dated and wince-worthy some of this is. Yet at the same time the skill of the writing transcends this. Thelma gets on my nerves but of course that is partly her job!
Watching a tea chest that contains a WW2 Stahlhelm and an original R&R and Buddy Holly vinyl collection falling into landfill will haunt me forever
And those you cars...what a controlling cos 🙄

terry is holding the record in his arm
0:54 Terry minces his words.
One of the best comedies of that era. So well written and acted. One of my absolute all time favourites.
No one would ever make me get rid of my teddy. He’s the same age as me......65. And I love him dearly.
I'm 80, and never had a teddy. Rupert books every Christmas, but no teddy. Ahhhhhh. 😀
I’ve still got my from the day I was born
That's so cute, I've got mine too, Lyn got her on me 1st Christmas, priceless
Thank you, so very much for all the uploads. They mean the world to me
Just started binge watching whole series for the 3rd time superb 👌
Yep I do. I think it's that good. Nothing like today and never will.
4:49 It's just suddenly hit me that Thelma looks like a Star Trek Vulcan! 🤣
😂🤣😅
Which is why Bob has bought a 7 year diary.
That thelma telling bob to get rid of his memories.. no thelma lets throw you out instead
Then you’d be out of a job and who do you think gave them the deposit for the house?
Eighteenth time watching this and every other episode. Love them!
This show has kept me going over the last 2 years ...it makes me laugh it should be on all the time
I agree. I don't know just what it is about this show, but I love it!
@@MrMenefrego1 it's about two childhood friends that have a special kind of love for each other
@@lorrainelane6583 Indeed it is.

To think that this was recorded 52 years ago. “Preserve, your memories, they’re all that’s left you” (Simon and Garfunkel).

No that was a reference to the Cub Scout movement - they were the junior version of the Boy Scouts and said silly thing like Dib Dib etc.
@@2011littlejohn1 But why say 'Dib, dib, dib', what's it mean? (and thanks for the info)
It's sad Thelma has passed away now.. RIP.
And Anita Carey two great actresses 🥲🥲

JUST GREAT IS ALL I CAN SAY , LOVE EM
You have got to keep your things from the past, reminder of better times.
A Skiffle band called Rob Ferris and The Wildcats has a ring to it !
Best copper ever
He sounds so world-weary 😂
he was also in george and mildred, robins nest as a policeman
Yeah Robert Gillespie he had a lot of roles in programs he was good in this series as the copper 😊👍

Keep the tea chest, dump Thelma!!!
Agree. She was a drag.
Fantastic ♥️
The days when saying 'knackered' got a laugh!
And you could call Germans " flabby Krauts ", without causing an international incident, and having Panzer tanks rolling down your street. 😀
Get rid of the Rupert books? The woman hasn't got a heart,
you remember how they was in the christmas b/w ep
Poor Bob

I still Terry and Thelma should have hooked up behind Bob's back,
How do you know they didn't ? Bob was very wet, and that Thelma..... ? Hot, hot, hot.
who said they didn''t
thumb print on his head. having to have his stuff meet herr approval.
Magic Magic Comedy Anyone Remember 😄😄
How can that house not have an attic?
It did, artistic license
Controlling woman again I would of divorced her and kicked her out
A “controlling woman” character written by two men. You are supposed to not like her.

"i had every Buddys Holly single ever made"! .....bad mistake
Programmes were shot live in those days and very clever too . Just enjoy this without looking for faults .

People on here slagging thelma is unfair. In the end she said bob could keep his things. It was him who decided to chuck them in the end.
Thelma was only acting
She was the counter balance to the two lads.
