Didn't realise Gary Holton died in 1985. I remember watching Auf Wiedersehen Pet when I was young, which must have been before his death, so 1983 and 1984? I never liked him, or even the show, but back then you watched what was on. However, I never watched TV after that again and until today, I assumed they were all alive, but just looking at his photos, I see he looked really young. Strange really.
The writers ran out of realistic ideas somewhere in the second series, what with the Allie Fraser in Spain farce. Then it got worse in the later series. The original series was the most authentic one.
@@davidcritchley3509 Too right. I still enjoy the whole 4 series because the characters are so good, but halfway through series 2 it gets so far fetched.
Yes, classic 80s ..the first series was and still is the best. The lads the banter .and the crack!!!! The very first episode. It looked so familiar..the old hut 🛖 for their accommodation.. 1979/80s part of Maggies 3 million . All looking for work over seas!!!!
First saw the show when i was about 5 in the mid 80's, loved it ever since, especially the second series which i re-watched for about the 100th time a few days ago.
brilliant.i have been watching awp since i was a kid.i never get bored of it.oz is a legend in my eyes.thanks for posting this as i never knew it excisted
Love the sentiment, but just not the same with no Wain or Bomber, we saw that in the last Special. I think ‘past it’s sell by date” is the modern description!
Sadly they decided to make a bunch of engaging builders into international globe trotters involved in very unlikely and contrived situations. Realism went by the board. Give me the first two series any day!
4 Cheeseburgers with Fries and 4 Bottles of Domperidone Champagne, good treat that is. If I had the money right now, i'd treat my mates to all that for as a nice Dinner Treat.
@leapoffaith20 I'm Irish and I can understand it perfectly. It's not that hard. It sounds weird at first, but quickly you learns what their slang terms mean, most of it ain't rocket science
Bono: Amazing singer, great lyricist... terrible actor.
Absolute classic! Can not imagine writers ever having the bollocks to write this comedy gold ever again.
I've not seen this before, how wonderful! I miss those guys, they were so real, so funny, ...
Ed Love bring them back with new series 👍🏻
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm not sure I have much control over that decision, but it would be great!
To bring them back.
Wonderful English comedy. Joe in Glasgow x

if I met them I would say" Oh you're Bono aren't you? do you know if there's any celebrities around here?"
They really smoothed out the Geordie compared to the 80s original. I can almost make out every other word.
Snob.
The scouser that was Moxie is a right piece of work in Eastenders no as Georges old dad..
'Frank' appeared in a few episodes of Jimmy Nails Crocodile Shoes in 1994
Bring em back
If Barry was there,he'd in prison AGAIN
Absolute classic 👏👏👏👏
This and OFAH (1997) i believe comedy sketch's for relief are my most favourite
Suprised oz didn't that geezer at the door thanx for posting
Auf is the highest bar you can't reach in comedy.
Bit of a shock when Bono and Larry appear.
You don't get comedy like this anymore.
Jamie

Have you got all of your own teeth?
If that was me I would have taken both suit cases and got the hell away... 3 million dollars???
Bono's tax dodge?
Oz "This is the kind of thing that broke up the Rollers"
Where was Barry In all this
I thought OZ would say "....well at least l had a No1 Solo hit......"
Yeah but that would've rang a bit hollow when you consider that Bono is worth about £700 million.
Wow! Oz, den, nev & mox..... don't know the other two were tho?🤔
@leapoffaith20: where can I hear the Geordie accent?
Classic...!
@whatgarage - Great username - very Auf Pet esoteric!
Great use of the English language there.
I’m Cumbrian, I now live in Wales, but everybody there thinks I’m a Geordie.
