Aside from "Kashmir" having arguably THE most iconic, immediately recognizable riff of any rock song ever made, another thing that was unique about Led Zeppelin is the band had arguably the greatest (or at least in every "Top-5 Greatest" list) front man, drummer, lead guitarist, bassist that Zeppelin gave us. For example, GUARANTEED if you typed in "greatest rock drummer" on Google and pulled up 10 legit links showing their greatest drummers, John Bonham's name will be atop the list more than any other drummer. Rolling Stone magazine named Robert Plant as the greatest front man in rock history. What an incomplete list of greatest lead guitarists would be if Jimmy Page's name was not included. And the same goes for the GREAT John Paul Jones on bass, as all 4 members of the band were not only VERY special, but they all got off playing together. There'll never be another band like Zeppelin, that's for sure.

If your gonna watch it live, watch the official video from Knebworth 1979, it’s one of the last few performances the band did, their drummer John Bonham died a little over a year later and the split up. Then watch the 2007 reunion with the drummers son Jason taking his place on the drums. You will see that even as senior citizens and not playing for 27 years they are still better than anyone. Both performances are beyond epic.

A lot of Zeppelin music is very mood-oriented, rhythmic, hypnotic, dynamic, and almost cinematic. They truly conjure moods and imagery. Bassist John Paul Jones played a type of early synthesizer called a Mellotron, however, they also had studio musicians come in to add strings and brass (which Jones also arranged). Here are two links for this performance; the first is from their performance at Knebworth in 1979 and the second is from a charity performance where Jimmy and John Paul Jones were in their early 60s, Robert was in his late 50s, and Jason Bonham (John's son because John passed away in 1980) was in his 40s - and they KILLED IT. I'll leave it up to you to react to either (hopefully both). Glad you liked it! (Knebworth) ruclips.net/video/hW_WLxseq0o/видео.html (charity) ruclips.net/video/PD-MdiUm1_Y/видео.html

I think this is my favorite song that led period I did see them in concert in Seattle in the Kingdom period period they are the same in person as you hear on the record. It's hard to believe there's only 4 guys up there and they're able to make it sound so big.

LZ is the most musically talented band of all time. They are incredibly versatile and all 4 members were masters of their craft. It's like a basketball or baseball team where all the starters are Hall of Famers.
So many more amazing songs of theirs to check out... Fool in the Rain, 10 Years Gone, Babe Im Gonna Leave You, Ramble On, Going to California, Immigrant Song, Over the Hills and Far Away, Hey Hey What Can I Do, All My Love, Tangerine...

You are right Journey Marie, Led Zeppelin does transport you to another place. There is a great live version of this song in Zeppelins "Celebration Day" concert. Unfortunately drummer John Bonham had long since passed away, but his son Jason Bonham does an admirable job covering the song. Check it out, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Peace.

Just a magnificent song. Definitely in my favourite 10 Zeppelin tracks, or more accurately favourite 5. The word epic doesn't quite do it justice and despite it's length of roughly 8 and a half minutes, it always makes me feel like I just want it to keep going.
    Great reaction, by the way.

Robert Plant was unhappy with the performance at Knebworth, he was going thru alot of personal stuff. I think he intended to make up with the Celebration performance and in my opinion he(They) done it.
Maybe because I'm almost a old as them🤣🤣 and so proud to see them preform so well, I rate the celebration performance as their best, and I have watched alot of their stuff over the years plus I seen them in 77 in Pontiac Mi with a crowd of about 80,000 people.

They definitely had a way of building tension, and a release. Jimmy Page called it light and shade, or whisper to the thunder. They were a band of equals, after the death of John Bonham in 1980, the most respectful decision they made to their family and fans was to call it quits. Zeppelin are the real deal
