Now that you've reacted to this, it's time to see if 32 years later, they can still nail it. Check out "Kashmir" Live at Celebration Day. John Bonhan's, Jason, is on drums 🥁 of course JPJ on keyboard & playing bass with his feet, Robert's vocals, & Jimmy killing it. 20 million people requested tickets to the concert - which made the Guinness Book of World Records.

I was at both Knebworth 79 shows along with about 200,000 other people, best band ever in the studio or live even better than Pink Floyd who I seen twice also. If you liked John Bonham's drums you should react to "Achilles last stand" from Knebworth 79. It would be good to see you react to "Kashmir" from the O2 2007 to see the contrast, John Bonham's son Jason is on drums who also performed with Heart doing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy awards. Kashmir is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. I was 10 when I first heard Led Zeppelin in 1973. I still love listening to them to this day. Robert Plant was the best vocalist of any band. John Paul Jones is probably the most versatile musician in the business. Miss Bonzo on the drums, and Jimmy Page is the master of the guitar.

A nice musical journey of discovery from you two nice people. The orchestral effect comes from the melodron, which bassist John Paul Jones plays with oriental note sequences. Jon Bonham, known as Bonzo, was the greatest rock drummer there ever was. Today's drum teachers are thrilled when they hear him. Unfortunately he died a year after this concert. I recommend you "Achilles last Stand" from this Knebworth Festival in 1979. If you listen to more Led Zeppelin songs, you will notice that no two songs are the same. The band mastered everything, blues, folk, hard rock and even reggea on "D'yer Mak'er."

There's an expression, ".....travels to the beat of a different drum". John Bonham, in my opinion, is that different drum. His fills are incredible but what is really amazing is his creativity and solidity. In some songs, he is playing in a different time signature than the rest of the band which is very hard to do (for him and the other members). But it gives the offbeat sound that Zeppelin is famous for. He always holds the beat so solidly even if it is counter to the rhythm of the rest of the band. He was a genius and is still my favorite drummer of all time.

Two Things. 1) Check out 'No Quarter' from the '73 live concert, which is John Paul Jones personal magnum Opus. 2) For another unforgettable, timeless and inventive band from approx the same time period, look at Pink Floyd, no particular tracks really but try Shine On You Crazy Diamond or The Great Gig In The Sky. If you want to hear God in a drummer's heart react to the song Mobi Dick by John Bonham of Led Zeppelin

Definitely listen to the studio versions of their entire catalogue as Robert was notorious for not being particularly articulate during live performances. The time and place is wonderful to have re-experienced with you. With Zepelin, you need to listen to each song more than once to experience the complexity of what they did is incredible. The boys layered content and emotion that is far deeper and meaningful than most of todays lyrics and music. You said it exactly right Led Zepelin, evolved rock and roll and the musicians that followed them. I was at the time I first heard them I was a young teen and they changed my very definition of music instantly. (much to my parents distress lol)

By 1979 Led Zeppelin were considered “dinosaurs” and passed their best…

“Timeless” is a good way to sum this up. You can see why when Bonham (pronounced bon-am, the h is silent) died Zeppelin could no longer exist. What drummer can get close to that? Check out The Rain Song by them, live at MSG 73 preferably. ✌️

John Bonham was unusual for a drummer: he could actually keep time. Seriously, Bonzo was human metronome. LZ was known as hard rock band, but they could groove!

The type of singing or noise that Robert Plant makes in some of his songs can be referred to as Scat singing. Ella Fitzgerald made it famous and probably the 30s and 40s. Other artist that does that is George Benson he plays wonderful guitgreat Jazz music. You have to listen to George Benson's song breezen and then Is unbroadway. You still love it
