Incredible a woman didn't get the cynicism of this song. There's no consent in there! It's I want, I take, I leave and I don't care. Why is the title "uninvited"? Damn!
He says "YOU came uninvited"... as if he wasn't looking for anything, but their "worlds collided". I didn't see anything cynical about this. "Can you dry that thing i like" implying that they've been together before... maybe friends with benefits. "Together as two people in this moment Sharing something beautiful" doesn't sound like there's no consent. This is almost like "locker room talk" and it doesn't bother me at all. Just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I have to get butt hurt about a one night stand and something meant to be funny. Maybe you're the one who's cynical?

All along the song, there are plenty of analogies of penetration, when the title says "uninvited". The chorus you find innocent is full of negative words: "uninvited", "collided", "don't like", "alone". If you stitch them together in a nice fantasy, okay; but separated, they tell another story. So, for me, the first four verses of the chorus are the voice of a victim, and the rest are those of an offender. And don't get me wrong, I have nothing against one night experiences, I've practiced. But this song is not about love, or joy, or something beautiful. It's only self centered even if wrapped in a charming language. And I love Ren, because he is full of talents and harshly truthful. And I love the song, because I think the consent or lack of is a very important topic. He's so smart: it looks like a happy song when it's a very serious one. The production is fabulous. My takes on this for what they’re worth are, Ren as we know is an incredible wordsmith, loving to find not just double meanings but triple and more sometimes. So I think that it’s plausible that this song was written in this way as an experiment in watching which way people’s minds interpret it? But also as it is with every single artist, not every song they write is autobiographical. Just because he is speaking in first person doesn’t mean that he is that first person. Most artists get their inspiration from the watching people and the world around them so for all we know this song is a reflection of how amusing he finds the interplay and differences between men and women when it comes to the whole song and dance of the one night stands and or the evolution into friends with benefits? As you said, we won’t know until we hear Ren say it or may never clarify as is his prerogative.
