    The main chord progression seems to be emin9, f#min7, f#min7b5, Cmaj7, bmin7, Amin7, f#min7, f#min7b5, repeat.

      Sorry I don't really understand much about music theory. So why the vid title use the Em7 chord/key?

    • @Acevgm
      @Acevgm 4 года назад +29

      @@aristide4505 Because the first chord is an em9, which is just an extension of an em7.

    • @yj8201
      @yj8201 4 года назад +46

      @@aristide4505 because most music is labeled as in major or minor, and you just add a 7 if you wanna be extra specific for jazz or blues. The 9 11 13 15 comes as additions to the 7 type of music... you get it?

    • @Acevgm
      @Acevgm 4 года назад +6

      @@yj8201 Exactly! It's kinda like if a song had an em chord in 2nd inversion for the first chord. We'd just simplify it and call it e minor.

      It is just important to learn the right technique at the start (you can watch RUclips videos to learn how to place your hand, fingers, etc. professionaly). And then you just slowly practise what you like and it will be done, just time and practise needed.
      Don't get frustrated, but enjoy every day and day by day you would play anything you would like to. It is truly an amazing and calming hobby, if you perceive it right :)

      @Karlo Tee There's definitely arpeggios, lot of chromatics too. I see a lot of Eric Johnson in here too.

      Giancarlo Curti I found that arpeggiating modes gives you a similar sound...along with swung 16th note lines

      Karlo Tee 1:15/1:35 and all the ones while the dominant chord is on

      muphphinmin i still find hard to make the arpeggios don’t sound like an exercise. Mainly when it’s like a “normal” chord like an major7 or a minor7. Just use the arpeggios with that notes doesn’t sound pretty to me u know?

      Giancarlo Curti I use arpeggios as a mode of transition rather than cycling through notes like a drill..like maybe run a minor 7 arpeggio for one octave but land on the 11th and ascend the rest in 3rds ...either that l feel like I’m Yngwie which to me is an ugly sound like you said
