    First one has a full lush smooth style, second guy is a young talent with great ideas, third guitar player has the groove, forth player has the classic soul sounds. All of these sample bits tell us there is an emerging guitar style to look out for.

      Shoot higher. This is beginner stuff. It all depends on your personally goal though, so do what you please. Listen to some Paul gilbert, buckethead, Steve Vai, stevie ray Vaughan, and Eddie van Halen if you seek to be really good. Listening to technical music is the first step to become good.

      @@tash5540 this is all wrong. This video is a completely different style than all the guys you listed. While I love them all, technicality doesn't make a great player. A lot of the greats learned themselves and didn't know ahit about music theory, they just played what moved them. Who says the guy you responded to is even moved by their music anyway? If he wants to learn what's in this video, all the power to him.

      Listen to a lot of R&Bs like D’angelo... and of course gospel musicians... search Jarius mozee he has DVDs out on that specific style.

      Hey man, there's a video on youtube that covers which scales you need (essential) for neosoul so check that out! Besides that I would say of you're still new to guitar in general try to learn alternate picking/ economy picking. It'll help you alot alot alot. Also if you're interested I plan to upload tutorials for neo soul songs and also covers :) hope this helps!

    Actual playing adds sooooooooooo much to rnb that's been missing 20 years. Bring it back and I'll be right back listening. Real drums. Real guitar. PC ONLY for EDITING. No more drag and drop lucky automated "beats" bitten off of actual musicians or worse, stupid pad hits. Thanks for proving music is still the king over PC beats

    hi marty i have a lesson idea for you! take a simple chord progression and scale, then show how you would manipulate that progression/scale to play in different styles. for example show how you could play C G Am F (the classic pop progression) as a rock, jazz and funk style

    The first vid is the main riff of "Wrong or Right" by Blxst, but this vid is from 2019 and the song was released in 2020. I wonder if Blxst just randomly found this riff and decided to use it in his song. Does anyone know? Just curious.

      Ashton Sellars is mentioned in the song credits, so it's not without permission! Worth mentioning is that Rod Wave used it first in their song "Close Enough To Hurt". 🔥

    what's that technique at 6:08? its sounding like a tremolo but I've seen him play it before and he just uses one finger and moves it quickly across two frets. Anyone know what that's called? I've tried doing it but I can't seem to get it right

      it's not. it doesn't show it here, but I've seen him in other videos do that thing and he only uses one finger for both notes. I've seen other RnB guitarists do it too@@noisyplanet3397
