Fun fact. Kansas State named the stadium after Bill Snyder when he retired. He then came out of retirement and coached the team that played in a stadium named after him.
Actually the stadium name is Bill Snyder Family Stadium. They want to name it after himself but he said "rather than name it after me, you better name it after something we cares about, like our family etc" And dem mad lad at Manhattan be like "OK, Bill Snyder Family Stadium then"
My fav episode by far, for personal reasons. Went over for an exchange, from the UK, to Texas Tech and then got to go to A&M for Thanksgiving amd watched the game vs UT. Amazing stadiums but even more amazing times!
I have been to football game at Rice Eccles as well as it's predecessor, Rice Stadium. I was glad to see Rice Eccles make the list as well as Lavel Edwards. You got both sides of the "Holy War" here. Go Utes!
Well I didn't laugh at it and I'm a mountain!! Actually mountains don't laugh at much of anything because - we're mountains. I too thought the joke was funny. And yes, Lavell Edwards stadium has incredible mountain views.
I went to Kyle Field before and after the renovation. A&M played Rice University; the stadium was much smaller then. I mean, yeah, it was at a casual 82,000-spectator capacity, but still nothing compared to its current 102,000. I got to see just how massive the stadium was when we beat Kentucky in overtime.
I AM ONCE AGAIN ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT "Shameless plug for a possible pt. 5 video; my alma-mater, Georgia Southern. Statistically one of the best home field advantages in all of college football as the Eagles have an all-time home winning percentage above .800. It’s also been the host of a couple of GSU’s 6 1-AA national championships." To further add, it's the house that Erk built. When the program restarted in the 80's they had absolutely nothing. Erk Russell left as UGA's defensive coordinator and presumptive "head coach in waiting" after winning the '81 National Championship to build up Georgia Southern. They used practice jerseys as game jerseys, and put a strip of athletic tape on the helmet to look nicer. They borrowed local school buses to transport the team, and they maintain that tradition for home games to this day. I think you are missing out on one of the most unique stadiums, Kinnick Stadium at the University of Iowa has a Childrens Hospital next to it where the children can watch the game. Between 1st and 2nd quarter everyone waves to the children.
I saw Ohio State play at Northwestern in 2019. Ryan Field is an interesting stadium. We were walking through a neighborhood from the purple line in Chicago and all off a sudden a stadium appears out of nowhere
If you're interested in focusing on small college (ie. FCS, Division II, Division III or even junior college), my suggestions would be: 1. Lubbers Stadium, Grand Valley State (D2), Allendale, Mich. It's a nicer facility than a lot of FCS stadiums. 2. Dan Rooney Stadium, Duquesne (FCS), Pittsburgh. Not only is it named for the late Steelers owner, it overlooks the Monongahela River and has quite an interesting design. 3. Citrus Stadium, Citrus College (JUCO), Glendora, Calif. When you sit in the home stands at this facility, you get an amazing view of the San Gabriel Mountains. 4. Mountaineer Bowl, Western Colorado University (D2), Gunnison, Colo. It sits at 7,750 feet above sea level, the highest elevation of a college football stadium in the world (and, since marijuana is legal in Colorado, just imagine all the bad jokes that write themselves).
Stadium Suggestions: Kinnick Stadium at Iowa-Great facade, good renovations. Children’s Hospital overlooks and fans and players wave to kids during game. Washington-Grizzly Stadium at Montana-biggest capacity FCS stadium I think. At the base of a mountain with stunning views in Missoula. Dana J Dykhouse Stadium at Soutb Dakota State-new modern stadium built on old facility. Only D1 school in Dakotas that plays outdoors (both ND schools and USD play in domes). Blue seats make for good color scheme. Giant Jackrabbit above end zone!
No rich BYU mormon alums? That stadium need luxury skyboxes bad! Even the Illini football team with 1 winning season every 4 years has skyboxes or luxury suites.
No! Indoor football sucks, and would destroy the beautiful views - unless you just meant adding another seating area in end zone. I have been there and setting is beautiful!
Suggestion: Washington Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, MT. One of the best stadiums in Division 1 FCS. One of loudest stadiums in the country. Beautiful backdrop as well. Should definitely check it out
Eventually you should take a look at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. It recently got a massive renovation featuring a new roof and center-hung scoreboard, plus it's one of the few remaining dual use stadiums: they also play basketball in there and can pack in over 30k when Duke or North Carolina come to play.
Thank you for putting Jones AT&T Stadium in this video! I live in Lubbock, Texas and the video images of the facades do not do them justice and thank you for including the Double T scoreboard. #WreckEmTech #GunsUp #RaiderPower 😁👍🏻🏈🔫🔴⚫️ #RedRaiders
@@jdhjimbo oh yeah I know! I lived in Senatobia 21 years and Oxford for 4 years coming up this new year's eve. It's also gotta be the most beautiful tailgate spot in the SEC.
@@ryankirk7642 Unless you are on a boat outside Husky Stadium in Seattle, or on the river in Knoxville, TN, it is the best tailgate atmosphere anywhere in America! I have been to most of the P5 stadiums, several G5, and a few FCS, too - so I have a healthy base to draw from for comparison.
The clip of Bill Snyder Family Stadium at Kansas State University (K-State) is old (2013). North End has been rebuilt and they are currently building more on the south end next to the Octagon (Bramlage Coliseum).
Memo to the author of the video: on the last remodel of Ryan Field, the running track around the field was removed and the entire field was lowered by 4 or 5 feet to improve the sightlines from the stands. It is most noticeable if you view the dotted or dashed lines surrounding the field: in the corners the lines cut at a 45 degree angle to avoid the grass berm. Just a helpful nugget to include when this edition of 10 college football stadiums gets an upgrade.
I have not seen the other 3 in your series, so it might have been included, but I gave been to the majority of P5 stadiums, and Husky Stadium in Seattle for UW is the most spectacular, along with the Rose Bowl - now used by UCLA.
Spartan Stadium, East Lansing, Mi. (MSU). Pressbox renovation. 2005. Holds 75,000. Double decked on both sides. New scoreboards in about 2011. Very loud in there, when The Spartys are playing.
FYI, it's not a "mixture of bench seats and stand alone seats," season ticket holders buy portable chairs designed to be affixed to the benches and the school allows them to leave the chair there in the offseason.
clemson university memorial stadium, the hill , Howards rock, better than most of any youve shown. on the foot hill of the Appalachian mountains right on lake Hartwell, a true college town
For what it's worth Texas Tech is the Red Raiders, not just the Raiders. Pretty much nothing else worth seeing in Lubbock which accounts for the stadium being included in this list. Having played there the visitors locker room is a pit. At least it was in the early 80's which seems like a lifetime ago now.
Bill Snyder Family Stadium is called that because Bill Snyder brought the Wildcats out of a major losing streak and turned the football program around . The Family part actually comes from one of Bills philosophies and that is that K-State fans, athletes, and students treat each other like family. Also the stadium is no longer a U shape its now complete with the additions to the northern corners and
Arkansas State university. Water falls in the stadium and probably the only stadium that allows drinking in the stadium and it is located on campus. lol 😂
Perhaps small stadiums. Meade stadium at the University of Rhode Island has but 6,500 hundred seats; at the state school, no less. Love your corny and offbeat sense of humor.
Fun fact. Kansas State named the stadium after Bill Snyder when he retired. He then came out of retirement and coached the team that played in a stadium named after him.
Isn't like the K state logo technically owned by Bill Snyder? He's a legend up there in Manhattan Kansas

Oh I think we both know there will be a Part 5. This little series will get the JoJo fandom treatment.
Keep up the good work.
For those that don't know, both endzones at Kansas State have been renovated, making the stadium look much nicer.
Loved the "Mormon" joke...and I'm Mormon. That was funny!

Ryan field is cool, just too run down. It needs to be replaced A.S.A.P
The problem is that there are often more fans for the opponents than NW. I have been there 3 times - twice vs UM, and the Wolverines had more fans.
