    • @StreetForged
      @StreetForged Год назад

      What would the benefit to that be over a regular impact driver? I'm assuming you use them for skid pan bolts and such? I dont recall ever needing a non conventional drill on any of the auto projects I've done and I build track cars and do a lot of custom fabrication. Space can get tight but a 90° adapter and driver extensions typically do the job

    • @ProlificInvention
      @ProlificInvention Год назад

      @@StreetForged The benefit was they were lighter, fit in a pocket, had a built in "revolver magazine" that held common bits we use on skid plates on bottom (T15.. T20, T25, T30, 7mm, 8mm Phillips, flathead) we do keep an impact handy for certain tougher skidplates such as on Toyotas and such, but the majority are basically fiberboard with many t30 fasteners into plastic screw mounts which you don't want to overtorque at all. Same thing up top-most bits were in the revolver magazine for the many styles of air filter bolts usually in plastic you don't want to overtorque on.

    • @StreetForged
      @StreetForged Год назад

      @@ProlificInvention good thinking, I can see how that can help save some time and headaches. As other comments have pointed out, ceramic blades are actually pretty good. Some are definitely sharper than others, and they're a little bit more brittle than metal so they'll chip as opposed to wear down if they start getting old or if they're handled really roughly. We've had one ceramic blade especially good for cooking that hasn't dulled whatsoever in the years we've had it. I actually do recommend getting some for cooking. They're good all-around knives

    • @Tw3akst3r
      @Tw3akst3r Год назад +4

      Additionally, when using ceramic blades as opposed to metal blades and cutting fruits and vegetables, you don't get the browning in the same way that you would when using metal blades.

    • @shaneh7519
      @shaneh7519 Год назад +8

      As a professional chef I absolutely would not recommend ceramic knives, even for a home cook just simply due to the fact they are far more brittle and you cannot sharpen them.
      Being brittle is more than just a don’t drop it issue. Because it is brittle, it means you are limited in what you can cut. I wouldn’t recommend cutting any hard cheese, bones, hard root vegetables, etc with a ceramic knife.

    I used to work at a Meijer distribution center, some of us were given these ceramic knives. From experience these knives aren't as sharp from the factory. However if you would take a regular utility blade and it was as dull as the ceramic then the ceramic absolutely will outlast a steel blade. I used a single ceramic blade for about a year before I got a new one.

    I bought one of this little cordless screwdrivers for my dad, he has athritis and problems with normal ones. I was surprised how much torque it has and you can screw 30-40 50mm woodscrews without problems.
    When you need a "multi-wrench" use this KNIPEX Tools - Pliers Wrench

    We used those ceramic utility knives at the facility I worked at raising and breeding saltwater fish specifically because they didn’t rust. We couldn’t oil any tools because it could kill the fish and corals, so the ceramic blades were a lifesaver for us

    We use the Slice Ceramic Utility Blades where I work after they replaced the whole inventory of metal blades that was had. They sighted safety and cost, even though we go through more ceramic blades and they cost more as well. They are about as useful as a dull butter knife. Don’t get me wrong. They cut flaps off of cardboard boxes, but I use them more for tearing the tape on said boxes. Needless to say, I hate them

    Ceramic can actually be made harder and sharper than steel, in southeast asia, historically ceramic was used for armor and weapons, and in some cases preferred over iron. Today we make ceramic tools and weapons for various uses, weapons, to bypass metal scanners. Tools, like this knife, are considered safer than a metal utility knife because it doesnt conduct electricity. If you clip a wire cutting drywall or stripping a live line for whatever reason, it also wont heat up the same. Ceramic is much harder to melt. They will however shatter when heated after hardened. Anyway, cool video, check out some more ceramic blades, there are super cool!
