Hey man. Love the video, but please get some PPE for this type of stuff! You should be wearing a respirator and gloves at the very least.
How are you and your family doing?love the videos.
Tyler all of the chemicals and "dangerous" substances really shouldn't be breathed in or even touched without gloves brother...
Please do these kind of experiments outside for safeties sake 🤞🙏
P.S. The glow sticks thing made you look like a mad scientist 🤣🤣🤣
Put a bone in the blender
This video was good, I would like to see another video where you compare the Somewhat expensive Blenders like the Ninja Blender with 2 blades and other blenders, also their Blending Capabilities.
Now all we need is a microwave and the age old question, "is it a good idea to microwave this?"
I remember watching that RUclips channel back in the day. The memories. 😭
Nobody likes roasted nuts
The original RUclips kings
Aw man. Heck yes.
the good ole days of youtube
"It smells a little weird"
That would be the toxic fluoride gas being emitted from the pulverized battery, Tyler.
(I did some more research and it is described in most places as "an acute poison that can permanently damage lungs and eyes")
Oof, iSmoke, don't breathe this!
I worry about him sometimes. Lol
LoL I was looking for this comment, ty!A blended iPhone has a weird smell?! You don’t say!!! 😂
@@jazzyg1162 someone send him a gas mask
Some of the stuff that comes out of this guys mouth amazes me...
Tyler forgot Rule #1 of “Will it Blend?”: *Don’t breathe this!*
^
Makes me wonder if he ever really watched will it blend..
iPhone smoke. Don't breath this.
I caught myself holding my breath just watching..
also dont drink the glow stick
Tyler is the human embodiment of all my intrusive thoughts and the solution to all my unanswered questions
I've never heard it explained better lol
4:12 Tyler... You're not supposed to breathe that. It was his famous line.
"[item] dust... Don't breathe this!"
Epitaph
Tyler's content is better than mine!
Bcs I suck :(
@@tarmy3619we know
I think we need to revive the "Is It a Good Idea to Microwave This?" series next.
So glad I'm not the only one who was thinking that 😆
@@WiltingSoul You aren't alone.
My thoughts exactly
You just unlocked a memory. I immediately read that in his voice too 😭😭😂😂
Agreed.
After all the fumes and the glow stick juice on your hands, it was nice knowing you, Tyler.
He really meant it when he said “don’t breathe this” Tyler!
I used to love this series along with the “is it a good idea to microwave this?” series.
dear god I remember that show. Early EARLY RUclips was a golden age.
@@pokecore95 “nobody likes roasted nuts”
I miss those days.......
I was literally about to comment this Lmfaoo good old days
@@hunterhicks6726 “the masks they do nothing!”
Slightly scary watching you open the blender with all those fine powdered toxic funzies floating about as you cough "It has a wierd smell to it" .. stuggles to breath "it has a really strong smell"
First rule of blendtec and I quote "DONT BREATH THIS", tyler "it has a weird smell to it" 😂
They used the “Wild-side” jar in the will it blend videos. It is a larger jar that has an offset 5th side which helps redirect debris back into the blade. The normal jar works fine for a lot of things but the wild side jar is better for bulk things like what they typically would blend in the videos. Also blend tech jars have a self lubricating blade bearing and you are supposed to rotate them a few rotations with your finger or a utensil before you run them in the blender.
That was the first ever RUclips series that got me into "science-ish" stuff
I hear ya, that, and "Can you microwave this?" What a great era to grow up in, lol.
my condolences lol
@@OreoHT I was just coming to recommend this next!
A ninja blender that has the blades running all the way up the blender would be interesting! Do a what one blends better video!
for some of the tougher stuff i wonder if the plastic center section of the blades would be a weakpoint
@@givowo I'd be curious as well, but I wouldn't see how except at the very top where it might crack around the steel guide rod. I own one and that's the only real weak point I see with it, but not during normal use.
This has been done by multiple people. The ninja doesn’t have near the raw power to compete. The blend tecs we’re all originally only commercial grade blenders.
Ninjas blenders use that blade arrangement so they will be able to use cheaper smaller motors.
You gotta protect your lungs, Brother. Especially since you really enjoy these blender videos. Can't lie, it looks super fun! Great vid
The plastic of the glowsticks has to be thick and tough because when you crack one to make it glow, you are breaking a glass vial inside which allows to chemicals to mix and react, giving the glow. The glass is sharp (obviously) so the outside needs to be such that it can't easily be punctured.
Yeahhh i was gonna comment this! It needs to be tough so that its hard to puncture and spill the contents all over yourself lmao. Since its primarily made for children.
@@I.no.ah.guy57 same
I love how Tyler is just sitting in the corner not knowing what is going on, he just looked scared and confused!
A few ideas for what to blend next…
- Gloves
- pickles
- month old eggs, milk, ect
- Tyres (cut to size to fit in blender)
- chewy sweets
- Jenga blocks
- match sticks and strikers (may want to do this one outside under controlled conditions)
- fireworks
- Napalm
- Cheese ?
The tyres and Jenga blocks seem interesting
I think the biggest thing to remember is those old videos had a brand spanking new blender each and every episode, it may be strong and those blades sharp, but there’s only so much battered metal can do against things like golf balls repeatedly smashing into it.
That's what I was thinking. Also, as with so many things, perhaps the quality has decreased over the years.
@@ku7342 it would not surprise if quality dipped as well, like you said…in all things lately. Plus I don’t see them tout how amazing their blenders are anymore like they used to, so they be of lesser build quality nowadays
@@Unbound_Selrahc If only we could turn back time and have our guy test with the same controls! That'd be a fun watch. Stay well, bud!
Blend Tec - Will it blend was the best!
Don't breathe this! 🤣
18:12 Tyler looking like a mad scientist 😂
We NEED a part 2. This was great! Nails, bolts, your least favorite kitchen gadget, a tube of FlexSeal, rocks, all your beard toothpicks, cheap 'As seen on TV' tools, a small jar of pickles. The list is endless.
it would of been a better idea to wear some type of PPE in this video tho. Dude just blended a phone to bits and didnt think ''huh? is this safe to like breathe in?''
This is as close to a new Will It Blend video we’ll ever get.
Holy shit, I forgot about the blendtec guy, thank you for reminding me Tyler.
Take an ice cube tray and fill the spaces with Flex Glue and all other types of glue you can think of. Then blend the 'glue cubes' and see which ones are the the most blend resistant.
id be interested in watching that comparison!
I can confidently say that this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone put a ratchet strap on a blender
The lighters didn't break the glass, the ratchet strap did. That vertical force was too much for the curve at the bottom. It just took a few cycles to stress it into fracturing.
that is a solid possibility. good point!
I’m absolutely amazed that he didn’t blow himself up with that one. One spark and that bomb would have sent glass shards flying off in all directions. 😂
I remember watching Will It Blend and Is It a Good Idea To Microwave This back in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
I remember Is It a Good Idea To Microwave This
3:36 Tyler looks like he is setting a timer for a photo with the family 😂😂😂
This dudes garage is essentially the most important scientific laboratory on the earth. Thank you for your service.
Finally a valid use for an i-phone
Jeap!
Hey Tyler Is it a good idea to microwave this? Anyone else remember those videos?
I wanted to watch that show but my parents wouldn't let me because they knew that i would try the same thing they did
From rock tumblers to blenders, you’re moving up in the world.
Idk about everyone else but I vote tyler wears the lab coat in every video from now on
Things you should put in the blender : bones, pop cans, ridge wallet, usb stick, keys and batteries but be careful with the last one tho :D
Some of the actual lithium double a batteries would be fun cause instead of just lithium ion like in the phone battery it has metallic lithium that likes to violently catch fire if you accidentally short the layers
To blend or not to blend is the question
Dude that shot of you holding the blender in the dark was sooooo dope!!!! Print that!!!
Does a video checking to see if the blender would grind up an IPad and instead he grinds it up himself. Gotta love Tyler
I miss seeing things in jars…
Same even though it made me feel sick🤢😂
Nah
I got some things in jars at the back of my drawer if ya want
RIGHT! that was how I found this channel!
@@noodlelynoodle. haha!!
the videos from what I remember reading were actually real and I've always wanted to see someone test that lol. If you watch around 24:45 to 24:47 you'll see that there was actually a small fireball/explosion
Well now that Tyler has a blender I guess we should bother him to make a pickle smoothie yes it exists
Keeping the Blendtek tradition alive makes my soul happy.
A GARDEN HOSE!!! I sware I remember him taking the plug out of the top and then just feeding a garden hose though the hole! Plus you have you say "IPhone smoke, don't wanna breath that!"
Anyone else terrified of that iPad battery blowing up in his face ?
The only reason I don't get too scared, the video got uploaded. But this poor dudes lungs in a few years... that I worry about. 😔
The glow sticks were cool. i wonder if the more you do. The brighter they get and i really thought the flints in the lighters would of ignited the gas vapour.
Do not drink the glowy smoothie.
@@dotar9586 supposedly glow sticks are non toxic, I believe.
This took me back man! I was waiting for you to say “don’t breathe this”, like he used to say lol
Was waiting for Tyler to say "eww, iphone smoke, don't breathe this!"
we bought the blendtec blender about 8 or 9 years ago. our counter (which is on the front as you can see, and counts the times you use it) its around 1000 at this point, still runs like a champ! These things are high quality. The blades aren't sharp at all, in fact they are blunt, and just use pure force to blend. These blenders are no joke.
That’s actually awesome
Tyler just showed how powerful blendtech blenders really are and that the videos were there for pure advertising enjoyment as kids ❤
Hey Tyler I think it would be cool to see you use the blender to blend up some orbies or a Stretch Armstrong lol
Stretch Armstrong is filled with gelled corn syrup it will instantly stop the blender and gum up the blade wheel.
Also, I'd like to point out that the Blendtec blender he always used in the videos -I think- was the WILDSIDE commercial version. It may have a stronger motor than the regular consumer version, Idk.
Let 's blend glow sticks....legendary... your a star Tyler🤣
I was literally just this past day ago talking to Mrs about the good old days of RUclips and this was one of them. Will it blend. You need to make your own version and go with it.
**Iphone dust, Don't breathe that**
Can not wait to see what else you can do with these blenders , and watching you break down the iPad was great
When you poured it out I laughed out loud , thank you I needed that, watching your videos in the hospital , gettin my mind of life
Ahh yes don't we all love breathing in refreshing iPhone dust 😂💀
Been waiting for this one
"It has a weird smell"
Me, remembering all those videos from 2006: "--don't breathe this!"
I loved this series growing up. One of the first channels I discovered on RUclips from what I remember. As well as is it a good idea to microwave this.
Love your vids, keep up the good work mate ;)
Maybe it's because the Blendtec has been cheapened up over the years (worse blade, less powerful motor, etc.)..... Some of the blenders like the one with the iPad look completely different from yours. Even the ones that look similar could have different guts. (especially given the huge time gap)
If it's indeed the blender, that's very unfortunate... Maybe that's why they kinda slowed to a stop on posting 'Will It Blend?' videos... They knew the blenders couldn't keep up due to the cost cutting, especially in blending increasingly crazy things.
Tyler you should get a metal crusher. That would be so fun to watch you crush everything
My mind is blown, TYLER BEING SAFE THOUGHT ID NEVER SEE THE DAY.
A classic series it was.
Anyone remember is it a good idea to microwave this?
"Will it blend" and "Is It A Good Idea To Microwave This?" are classics of a by gone era of YT. Will it blend deffo used tricks to make it seem legit.
I had one of these blenders. It wasn't that great. The lack of a tamper and square jar meant stuff would always get stuck on the edges and not get blended. Also if you want to try and make nut butter you needed another jar which cost $100. I switched to the breville super q which is much better in every way.
I was thinking the square container seems like a really bad idea, surely that wouldn't ever be effective
@@lordmysticlaw1991 its pretty bad design. The stuff your blending gets stuck in the corners.
Blenders need stuff to spin. It's like putting square peg in a round hole.
The hole in the lid is to stick a spoon in and scrape the sides of the glass.. Using a blender isn't surgery science..
@@MarkLada you seem confused...understanding comments isn't surgery science..
They have 3 different jars depending on what you are doing. The square jars are actually to allow the ingredients to be able to move and bounce back into the the blades. It works very well if you have the basic grey matter to read about the differences and the engineering behind the construction the the different jars. But most people just plug in w/o reading the basic instructions then complain about issues explicitly covered in the directions.
The model of the iPad may be what makes the difference between a blended iPad and a not blended iPad. Looking into a model that doesn't have the metal case (or at least the full metal case) could result in a blended iPad.
he already did an Iphone, no difference if he did the IPad or not, why waste a perfectly good IPad
@@michaelmardling3152there is difference cause the iPad he was a first gen iPad
that is the funniest episode i have seen i a while. you need to do more of these like this this one rates up with the pink hammer
Such a great video man! I didnt want it to end lmao. Different colored glowsticks would be cool to see, and see how they mix. I know you and everyone else, including me, were expecting the lighters to catch on fire so it was a tad disappointing. Someone commented and mentioned batteries....? Would probably work but Idk if i want you to do that though bc those fumes would be real nasty. Depends on the type of battery probably, for the fumes and fireball/explosion and would be a good idea to do that outside. But maybe you could do firecrackers or small fireworks too??? Now that would be real interesting to see lol. Looking forward to part 2!!!!
As an android user this makes me happy 😁
The only thing I kept thinking after the blended iPhone was “please don’t inhale it” - I should have known better 😂
I remember stumbling upon the will it blend channel back in the day and bingeing all the videos. Lol
i am guessing they used a NEW blender each time... if you noticed your first blend worked pretty good ... then they didnt after that.... the reason they used the smoothie mode is if you hear it changes speed so it causes the objects to move more. they may also have used sharpened blades or something different in the videos would love to see batteries blended because of the higher fire risk.
batteries would be deadly to blend, literally could kill him with the fumes
Tyler, we all love your content, but please get safety gear, especially for something like this. That smell from the phone was pulverized battery and is likely extremely toxic to breathe in. I know you've mentioned that respirators would affect audio, but I would much rather see you safe than putting yourself at risk for the sake of these videos.
Dude the most important quote from those old videos: iPhone dust don't breath this.
I have an old industrial bar blender. All metal and glass made in the USA. The blendtec is a lot tougher. Never used them for anything but making food and drinks but that blendtec will turn ice into powder real quick. I love the will it blend videos.
Great video! I'm pretty sure the lighters were basically scoring the glass because all the shards were following, more or less, the same path. Also, you should have used a screen shot from the glowsticks for your thumbnail!
Hahaha the glow stick moment feels like tyler is a mad scientist making kryptonite
Tyler recreating these "Will it blend ?" videos ? No way it can disappoint, and indeed it didn't ;)
We never know why we needed this but we always know we did after we saw it
26:44 you can hear it screaming for its life
you are one of two channels i've bought merch from, and this video demonstrates why! Breaking that iPad into pieces made my night!
I see everyone else was thinking the same thing I was about the "Is It A Good Idea to Microwave This?" series. lol
"Ooof, iPhone smoke. Don't breathe this!"
So that "smell" is Fumes from the battery being blended, it is fairly toxic, also a skin and eye irritant. to top it off it also had Lithium metal in the battery which is a very reactive exothermic metal that happens to be toxic. this is just to inform you tyler, have a good day.
The glow sticks made my day LOL!! Thank you Tyler:)
I was waiting for you to say "Phone Dust, Don't breathe this" just like the guy from will it blend
I need more will it blend… like asap as possible!!
I had the opportunity to meet Tom Dickson, the "Will it blend?" guy. He was the nicest, most gracious person you could meet. He personally gave us a tour of the Blendtec facility in Orem, including the set of "Will it blend?". I was very impressed.
- We need a “ Will it shred … ” version next . 🤭
Something about this is SO satisfying, that's why the videos were popular. Tyler...try old game console controllers. Plenty of plastic and some metal. Old sunglasses....or to have some fun, failed products you have reviewed.
TylerTube plus Will It Blend? It's the most excited I've been to watch a new video in years! Keep blending stuff!😁
"It has a weird smell"
Ah yes that might be the battery you just ground up😂
I showed my mom their videos and she bought one. We had it for almost 10 years before the jar seal started to leak. It counts how many times you use it, we used it about 5,000 times and only have the one jar. Highly recommend Blendtec blenders.
I have a memory of them blending a lightsaber; is there any way you can try and recreate it to see if it was just the product of movie magic?
Honey where's my blender?
MAKING SMOOTHIES!
This brought back some good memories. I think blending glowsticks was my favorite video from them.
The fuel in lighters boils around 11 Degrees Fahrenheit, the evaporation of all of it could have cooled the glass enough at the base to cause it to be more brittle.
