I need to do something like this for our new slab. The inspector informed us that the 12 inch slab will need to be filled to the top and NH code calls for another 6 inches above this level for the sil plate. I think I can do this myself over having to mortar and concrete cinder blocks. Thanks!

really hope it works out for you. this turned out to be a great option and gave me extra ceiling height. Just had to make some taller doors.
