    This is the 3rd video I've watched with you sealing the sill and on all the videos NONE of the exterior sheathing is lapping over the foundation at all. Wouldn't a good start be to hang your sheathing just down from the mud sill to encapsulate the void in the first place? ...with z flashing of course

    I ordered the siga tape FedEx delivered 2 weeks late, thus I missed my opportunity. Am now considering the inside now. I didn’t want to do both inside/outside. G

    My basement framing was done directly on concrete slab. Any way to fix so moisture doesnt rot the wood? Thanks

    Im not sure is it good idea to air seal? Wouldn't moisture find its way through the concrete slab or brick? 🤔

    hey there, my sheathing runs flush with my foundation and sits on my sill plate which is embedded into my concrete foundation wall (1962 build) would I primer 2 inches of the concrete wall, exposed sill and sheathing. Covering them all with flashing tape?

    When I bought my home there is a gap between the drywall and concrete, it looks like they used a rubber seal but still gaps. I’m afraid critters could get in. What is a budget friendly way to fix it?

    How do you cover the 2 inch part of the tape that’s on the concrete when it looked terrible

    Our house is on a slab no crawl space no basement and there's a ton of cold air coming in I assume they didn't seal the wall to the foundation. At this point do I take off the siding on the bottom and do this or do it from the inside ? What's the best most affordable solution we live in michigan and it's cold 8 mths and mosquitoes getting in the other months so upset 😡

      I the house already finished inside then your best choice is to do it from outside. I have the same issue in my house, I am thinking of buying a good caulk that can be used outside on concrete and wood and do it thay way.

    Matt, I'm trying to find the best way to seal the base of my foundation. It appears whatever the contractor used to seal the wood frame to our concrete slab isn't working. I've seen moisture getting in. The exterior wall is already covered with stone. I've removed the sheet-rock on the interior to inspect what was happening. I can caulk the interior now, however, I still need to keep the water from penetrating the wood. Hoping I don't have to remove stone on the exterior. If that's my only option then I'm going all in and getting to work. What do you suggest.

    I heard you should not do this, bc then if you do get moisture or condensation build up and the osb can’t evacuate this moisture out to the surrounding environment thro the open end of the trim at the bottom of the trim, that the osb will rot/age faster. I would seal the inside of the house bottom edge, just not the outside

      with what would you seal it with caulk? I am doing my basement right now, I want to seal under the base plates so no cold air comes in before I put on drywall/baseboards

    My new construction has Tyvek house wrap. Would the external tape go under the house wrap (i.e. Tyvek flash over the tape)? Is the liquid flashing better than the tapes?

      When air sealing joints between framing and the concrete foundation, DELTA®-FLASHING or DELTA®-MULTI BAND would be applied in a way that any laps shingle downward for best drainage. One should lap membranes above onto membranes below.

    Thank you, but I think the tape doesn't fit with long exposure to the UV. What can you apply on your tape for blocking UV? Rigid foam ? or something else?

    • @edwardjlombardijr4353
      @edwardjlombardijr4353 4 года назад +6

      Duct tape is not meant to be used outdoors and will deteriorate over time.

      Duct tape is weak to moisture (the thing you're supposed to be keeping out). It won't work at all.
