      Cheers Vince, yeah this one was a nightmare, but we never give up, if it's made by man it can be fixed by man 😁

    Just catching up on older videos, Phil. For being self taught you really impress me. I've been formally trained in electronics and haven't yet delved into this level of board work. You must have called this one off 4 times but you refused to actually give up and fixed it. Really well done.

    For the Fan use a Brush dipped into WD40, Followed by IPA, For the metal Plate I minute "if that" using a SCOTCH BRITE Pad dipped into WD40 then IPA..

    I enjoyed watching this video, was getting concerned when you got 3/4 the way through and it didn't work but you left it overnight(i often need the next day to think of new ideas, but does mean a lot more unfinished jobs) I doubt you would remember, but about 2 or 3 weeks back, i commented on one of your videos about xbox one S and black screen, it was indeed the hdd as you said, and you suggested just putting the offline update on the new drive and I can confirm it's FIXED! nothing like what you are doing, but i feel a great deal of confidence from watching your videos now. just removing the case was daunting, but now i have fully cleaned the dust out, replaced the heat paste and hard drive(considering getting a solid state drive though as this drive was a second hand laptop one for testing). i wish i could watch all your videos, but most are very long (for good reason) and I just don't have the time.
    Glad you were able to cover a liquid damage one, i remember you were talking of doing a coffee Vs Coke or similar.. is it a SHORTING OUT issue mostly and corrosion risk if left too long?
    might be a good video to say, IF YOU SPILL, DO THIS ASAP on consoles etc.. (assume cut the power for eg, tip it on an angle? ) anyway.. super long reply sorry but just thought i'd Thank you for the helpful and entertaining videos.

      Hey bud, firstly sorry for not replying to your comment. Sometimes my notifications get a little clogged up so I don't see all comments. Thank you for the kind words, yeah I do remember your issue (I have a pretty good memory lol), so glad you got it working and I was able to help you. I understand a lot of people won't have the time to watch all my videos, and I do still appreciate everyone and all the kind comments people leave on the videos, it really means a lot. Keep up the good work and keep persistent and your work will prevail :)

      @@TheCod3r Thanks again, no issue on reply time, i wasn't hanging for a solution at least. I've shared your channel to all My mates that could have half a clue on understanding electronics (i did a BASIC electrical/electronics coarse about 25 yrs ago i doubt BGAs were even invented then.. ) i enjoy trying to save/repair things that are too good to throw away, so this was awesome because i am using it! some of the electronic stuff i have fixed has just been cracked solder joints on boards from cars, and a WOEFUL solder job on a auto darkening welding helmet (link to imgur photo of my repair here i.imgur.com/05iEYI2.jpg)
      this is what we are dealing with in the throwaway society.
      Cheers, i'll definitely be checking out more of your repair videos.

    What does it mean when i plug in the power, but the fan doesn't do the partial spin before I turn it on? When I try powering it on, mine beeps, white light, and turns off after 1 second. I can't find any shorts.

    Great video!
    What would you suggest checking if I have no short from ground to the *12V power supply connector (6 pins)?
    All mosfets are good as well.
    No known damage to unit. This one had me truly puzzled.
    Thanks!

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  3 года назад +1

      It's hard to say really but the best thing to do is to go through the power rails and find out which ones are missing are shorted. If you hunt around the board you'll find markings for power rail test points that you can try :)

  • @eazye26boy

    im having this very same issue..no shorts on the 12V rail, all the mosfets are fine and i reflowed all RAM ICs not sure what else i could try

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  3 года назад

      Hi, sadly not. Microsoft has released an update which is corrupting consoles and they haven't released a patch for it yet. The only way right now is to reinstall it from scratch using the OSU1 update and a USB drive

    are these mosfets interchangeable with other consoles or do you just fix that many Xbox one s'??

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  2 года назад

      They would be if the spec requirement matches but I just do a lot of mosfet issues on xbox one and one s consoles :)

  • @chadoneal8830
    @chadoneal8830 2 года назад

    So, if you don’t have a short at the rail, and all 3 MOSFETS test out okay, and you don’t have that super awesomeness FLIR(im so jelly) (this is where every video I’ve seen stops because it’s typically the culprit ) where does the diagnostic procedure take me to next. I’m currently working on an XBOX ONE S board like this, power supply is good and no short at rail or MOSFETS all reading in the .533 range when i put ground on gate and hot on R9031 but when I reverse them I get no readings on all 3. Gate to ground is OL so there doesn’t seem to be any shorts at this stage. Any advise moving forward ?!

    • @LeapFrog_Radio
      @LeapFrog_Radio 2 года назад

      You must determine why you have no gate voltage, the mosfet will not turn on without gate voltage

      Could be a 3.3 V regulator?!

    Alot of work :) nice finish . I don't understand for my board 1540 it start 1-2sec all voltages pop i checked all phases they have pwm and poof off. It draws 2.5A in this time and like 30mA on standby. Only apu get some heat. I hate not having something to compare or schematic. Even some chips are encoded or no datasheet... so blind work.
