I had a student show up with one and had my Flight Scope X3 side by side for comparison and the club speed was pretty similar and ball speed was similar. When shots were hit from a tee distance was ok but off the turf it had lots of misreads. Also the launch angle was wacky as you could see from his 23* launch with driver that looked more in the range of 13-15. All in all for the price not bad.
Excellent review! I was on the fence about what launch monitor to purchase. Your review helped me make my decision. I purchased a SC300, it is an excellent device and has helped me to improve my golf game.
This is a great review and I'm a big fan of Matt's review style. I'm debating between the SC300 and the Flightscope Mevo. Both units come in at approximately the same price point ($500) and I like the fact that with the SC300 I don't have to keep pulling my phone out to look at my number. Keep up the great work Matt!
You earned a new Sub and bell ringer. Nice review, I've been had this thing in my Amazon shopping cart for a week trying to decide if I wanted to pull the trigger on it or the SC200 and your review really helped.
Great review. Bought sc300 and loved it. Hit 50 balls at range and confident it read 45 of them really accurately. Other 5 nothing to worry about. Overall will make the range alot more interesting. I made a little stand so its same level as the mat. The app is really easy to use and knowing the spin rate and launch angle already has me tinkering with driver adjustments.
@@RAFA13D hi sorry for the late reply. I just got some 3 or 4 mm wood cut just bigger than the SC300. I then used 4 x 40 or 50mm bolts and nuts as the legs. Beauty of this was as its nuts and bolts the height was adjustable! Sorry about not giving exact sizes its because I sold it to buy a new driver so I cant remember 🤦♂️
I've had mine for about a year. Going to use it for the first time this week. The "Carry" and "Total" can be change on the display by pressing and holding the "Distance" button (3rd from the left). The issue I have is that to use the app, you must turn on BT and connect to WiFi. I suspect they are tracking the location and useage of the device without notifying us. There should be no need to log on to a WiFi network. Don't expect the peformance to be on par with a $20,000 tracker.
Good review, thanks. I just purchased the SC300 and looking forward to trying it this weekend. The spin rate and smash factor will be useful data for practice.
Will be looking to buy one of these when I can but it's tough to get hold of good products in NZ. I have the swing caddie SC100 and while it measures the ball speed well, it seems to always give me a smash factor close to 1.50 and I somehow doubt i'm that good.
Oh shoot this is sweet!! I was wondering if tech like this would happen; has all those BEAUTIFUL stats and realistic price. Love how small it is, looks like they nailed it - will be interesting to see more of what market thinks Great Review!!
Great vid man. Shame it cant give us data on swing path and face to path but the swing speed, carry distance and spin rate are great. Perfect for practice and for a pre-comp warm up to see what you are bringing to the course that day.
Saw your promotion on SC300, bought on... Neither I got thrilled receiving the product... It wouldnt work here either... expecting a new one... Got my SC300 a week ago - all connects but no result regardless distance between ball and SC300, neither does the upgrade firmware function - fails after 32 - 92 %, tested 6 times. Send claim to both UK dealer and Swing Caddie in US for action... Glad you got your issue fixed next day, don´t have 30.000 followers, so use yours... let you know when this is settled - Gunnar in Sweden...
What if you hit into a practice net can this thing project what would have happened? I’m just wondering where all of it’s calculation takes place...it may be on contact or right after? Just curious. Great review...thanks
Great video and I think I want one of these. But the range at my club is short so the range balls have reduced pressure and only fly around 75% of a normal golf ball.Does the SC300 measure actual distance? Or does it measure the swing speed, quality of contact, etc. and then make adjustments and give a ProV1 equivalent?
everything seemed pretty accurate, although launch angle around 20 degrees with driver? Don't know if thats normal to you, seems high, just wanted to know if you think thats accurate as it wasn't addressed in the vid. Great content though, thanks!
Does the SC300 works properly, too, if you would hit only balls from a shelter box at the range? Because the lighting conditions are very different starting by shadow to full brightness of sun light?
Voice Caddie has updated their App and the with the new version you no longer get spin rate or total distance. I called their support and they removed those features as they were inaccurate. They are working to fix the issues but don't have a timeline. I just returned one I bought as without those features this is not much of an upgrade from the SC200
Great video, I really appreciate you taking the time to get this info posted. I just want to ask if there is a procedure or capability on this device to re calibrate. It seems that the numbers for your drives are a bit overstated. I'm assuming 103 mph swing speed is actually club head speed, and if so that's not going to get you 278 yards of carry. Not trying to be a hard ass, but maximizing that club head speed is going to be closer to 245 to 250 carry, depending on smash factor, temp and the elevation where you are playing. I'm really interested in this device so any input you might have on this is again greatly appreciated.
So remind me please. This unit uses an algorithm based upon ball speed and launch angle to make its determinations versus a gps device correct? What is the difference between the 200 and 300 models? Thanks.
I don't care if it does MORE things, I would only get it if it is more reliable than SC200. Any sense of that? Hard to test that by eyeballing distance on the range.
I've read that he SC200 had problems reading high ball speed / club head speeds with driver. Under reading significantly if you're swinging over 110mph or so. Anyone know if this is improved in the new version?
What driver and shaft do you use buddy out of interest my irons are on point with your numbers but I'm only getting 230-240 on driver so it got me thinking 😃 im 101-104mph with the driver
My best guess is you’re probably hitting slightly down on your driver. I hit my irons farther than this guy (7 iron carry is about 170-175) but my driver only carries about 255-260 cause I hit about 2 degrees down on on the ball. I’m trying to hit up on it cause I’ve heard that can give almost 20 yards more of distance
Great review! Any idea how much room you’d need between you and a net for it to register shots? Assuming you don’t need any metallic dots on balls? Thanks!
Thank you very much Matt for making this awesome review. Btw, the SC300 only records in yardage? Can the distance metric be switched to meters? How long can the battery lasts?
Sc300 double the price of sc200 but adds little. Only peak height or apex and a phone app. Highly recommend the sc200 which I use all the time on the range to dial in
I was wondering if the device would give you readings when hitting golf balls into a net in the backyard or do you need to be at a driving range. Thanks!
Net works great. But you need to be at least 15 feet away from the net to get a more accurate reading. Wedges not the best into the net. Driver - 8 iron works awesome.
I’m mostly interested in the carry yardage. Is it accurate with range balls and will it take into consideration any potential elevation changes at the range?
I have an SC300. Range balls aren't consistent. Some are good brand balls, some are dedicated range balls that are "crippled" for distance so that you can't hit them beyond the fence. There's no adjustment for elevation.
I have SC200 and based on the technology it uses it measures the speed of the ball using doppler radar right after the launch so depending on the ball you use it detects the estimate distance. I also use it with "almost golf balls" at home using my hitting net and it works great like a real ball :)

Good question.
Yeah it did seem a bit high but the yardage was pretty accurate.
Would bet its because now that the ball is on a tee its not the exact height as the SC and that's where the extra few degrees are coming from
Does the SC300 works properly, too, if you would hit only balls from a shelter box at the range? Because the lighting conditions are very different starting by shadow to full brightness of sun light?
Good thing you didn’t say the price of it in the beginning of the video..I would of quit watching lol way too expensive but thanks for the review :)

You can change the carry/distance on the device as well as with the remote.
Would the carry change if you were using good balls instead of range balls? How does it know?
It would. I used some Volvik balls on a few swings and they definitely went farther.
It would due to higher ball speed computed measurements

Could you make Comparison videos with other launch monitors next? I.e Mevo, then trackman etc

Do you have to be at the driving range alone? Does other balls flying around interfere with trying to read your ball?
The device has to be about 6ft directly behind your ball. Other golfers on the range will be out of the "field of view".

How accurate do you fill that the club head speed numbers are?
I'd say the swing speed is within a couple miles per hour.
when you're on the range, can you switch from driving-range balls to normal balls? is that converted?
There's no adjustment for play balls vs range balls.
