You’d want to avoid areas that can get hot, light fixtures, fireplaces. Also avoid area where it could come I contact with water.

Hi for that you would use caulk for the mounding and there’s a cement caulk for brick area around the fireplace. Spray foam shouldn’t be used around a
Fireplace

This product sucks! Very hard to use! Drips out of applicator straw when you stop spraying. Has some glue component that that makes it very sticky. Be ready for a lot of clean up
