God Orion on TFW2005 has released a downloadable guide of fixes and tweaks for your KO MP44 Prime. You may experience none, some or all. It's worth a look in any case.
It's a whopping 36 page PDF that you can download here
www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/mp-44-ko.1189622/page-197#post-18332758
So, I've had my mp44 ko a couple days now, and thankfully they seemed to have already fixed the knee issue, so no problems there. But on the ab crunch, I've seen a couple youtubers talk about this now, and i think the problem may be more a misunderstanding of the engineering than the tab itself. When I use the ab crunch on my figure, I start lifting from the front of the figure, and the back tab slides out of place, allowing the full range of motion. No screw loosening or shaving. Didn't even need to use force. Seems like a bit of engineering that was too clever for it's own good, like the knees on the original figure, and it needed to be explained better. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
that actually makes perfect sense, still deciding between getting this ko or transform element
@@feqol Actually, I was wrong. I misunderstood the engineering, and ended up popping the waist swivel myself. I didn't realize there was a second tab in the back that allows for the ab crunch without having to disengage the front. It was that tight. That being said, this is still a great reproduction of MP-44, and the most recent ones have addressed this issue and its no longer stuck in there so tight that you run the risk of breaking it. Transform Element is a fantastic figure too though. I actually have one of each for Optimus, Nemesis and Shattered Glass Optimus.
For the knee joint, just loosen the screw and it will work well. No need to cut it off. Works for mine at least.
I actually did that as soon as I took it out of the box. Cant remember who told me to.
Thanks! Mine's knees didn't have L-shaped tabs, just flat already, but i didn't even realize that waist joint was there!
Okay, I got my MP-44 KO V.2 and that first tab is no longer an issue, same with the knees.
Mate, i received my MP44 KO 1st week of September, i just checked the knees now & its got no more of those messy L shaped tabs
Some sellers cut the tabs off before shipping them out.
@@BotsandBits Havent checked the ab crnuch yet though, its too tight, might as well unscrew that blue tab first
Ive seen videos of people complaining the forearm flap leaves a gap after transformation but if you look at the base of the hand were your wrist is theres a very small tab and hole for it to clip into which sorts that right.out.
Unfortunately, at least on the first lot from 3 years ago, that tab was too small for the hole. So it wouldn't actually hold it. Probably fixed in later batches I'd imagine though. Usually unpainted KO's dont account for the size difference due to the missing paint layer.
Can't wait for your take... I just finished transforming the mojo... too many issues with tolerances and tabs for a pleasant experience. LOL
I did the Takara and KO back and forth in the same session, and hated them both
@@BotsandBits LOL
Really looking forward to your full review.
Thanks bro, cheers, good to hear from you after so long
Its a VERY small amount of the ab crunch tab that needs to be removed , i only filed it for about 10 seconds and that was enough on mine anyway
I dunno what was more distracting in this video?
- The seal in the background
Or
- Prime getting a Phillips screw driver in the bum lol
Subscribey Seal has been in almost every B&B episode ^_^
Thanks for this video and tips, will make sure to mod mine as soon as I can.
Now I'm dying to see your full review....
Where can I get the Autobot logo for his shoulder, thanks
My 3.0 ko's waist didn't even snap due to ab crunch release, it just sort of grinded off on its own after twisting Prime's torso a bit too many times I guess. Piece of crap. I'm gonna just twist tie the dude in place for now and figure out a fix later.
Thanks for posting this :3
I got mp 44 ko version 3 and the waist is lose and the knee is just faulty it might be for my copy
hey bro ko mp44 hole leg came off do u know how to fix it
MP-44 is a piece of garbage. I hated it... still do.
I agree, I looks ok, but as a figure/transformer I really don't like the engineering at all.
need ur help bro
Take heed people, this is a great figure, but has it's issues. These can be fixed quite easily, apart from, like my dude says, this issue God Orion has. No need to cut the knee tab off. Instead, use a small tool like a screw driver to widen the space it fits into. I made a video to show an arm fix (mine fell off), but also go over what I did to make it look good, and play ready! Good luck! ruclips.net/video/j37TqwnubF0/видео.html
Excellent repair video mate :)
Oh my god! We still have knee issues. This is the stupidest design ever!
✌️😮✌️👍
Makes me feel even better about getting TE01
this is why MP10 is better and as far as 3rd party primes, my fave is Magid square light is freedom. I'm so disappointed in mp44
LOL. I'm glad mine is taking forever showing up because it's giving you all a chance to figure out how to fix it before it gets here. Thanks for the help! 😅
Make sure you check out the repair PDF by God Orion linked in the pinned comment
@@BotsandBits Yup, i will. Thanks again.
