I think their lenses are made by Shamir. But I am not sure. Either way, they are considered the best sunglasses you can buy. The frames look great too. Good size for most.
If I can ever dig that information from their cold dead hands I’ll pass it along. Best I can tell based on their worthless white papers (marketing bs mostly with no substance) they use an IOT derived design with tweaks to their specs like I use. Most likely based off the IOT Road for their sun lens and IOT Everyday series for their clear rx. Which is actually better than if they were derived from Shamir, but doesn’t stack up to the endless steady tech I normally base my lenses on.

MauiBrilliant is still a massive no-go for me. I have very bad experiences with MauiBrilliant in terms of scratch resistance.
Now STG only.
However I recently tried to steer away from Maui Jim as most of our MJ acetate and nylon frames squeak pretty badly which feels very cheap for their price tag.
I know it’s a big fashion to hate Luxotticas but Persol and Oliver Peoples seem to have a much better built quality and hinges, even my RB Original Wayfarer too.
I’m still in love in MJs, their lenses are absolutely amazing but the built quality is really something that needs improvement. So as their styles overall, most of them are too beachie. I really miss the classic, iconic, stylish frames so I recently had to steer towards Randolphs and back to Luxotticas as well.
Some of the mirrors just don’t hang on. Nature of the beast to some degree. Don’t usually see it a problem with brilliant but the pure is only pure trash 🥶. I haven’t seen any of my stock come in squeaking though, that would be a hard pass for sure!!! Even the cheaper rimless stuff doesn’t seem to squeak or have hinge issues, and the latest stuff with the Kering partnership has actually been incredible! Seeing some stunning hinges and robust solid acetates that I’m loving (reviews coming on those soonish). Great stuff coming down the pipe!
FWIW. The latest Oliver peoples I’ve seen have been really good too. Actually has me on the fence on liking it 😂🥶
@@ThatGlassesGuy03 there are not too many frames we had problems with, Two Steps, Glory-Glory, Mariposa and Perico. They were the squeaky ones. But still enough for being sceptical and having negative opinions about the built quality overall… although the metal frames seemed to be quite solid.
It’s good to hear that their latest styles have been pretty good, looking forward the reviews of their new acetates.
Some nice Oliver Peoples and Persol reviews would also suit really well to the channel (and it’s owner as well) 😆
Which gradient did you get in the bronze? Ordering a pair and trying to decide between the bi-Gradient and the regular.
Mmm something about answering this for an order not through me stings…… but alas…. I do enjoy a good result. The bigradient mirror is what you see in the video 😎
So the black/gold frame with jack lens is the way to go? Trying to decide if I should go with grey/black lens or hcl.
Personally I think the bronze HCL is a better look and a nicer lens to look through 😎

In my hands, no. I have seen their other crystals in other frames from the luxury line and they’re quite well done and nice, I have no doubt this one is as well :)

How exactly would you like me to do that? It’s a big wooden box with a different rectangle case. This is specific to the marked LUXURY frames. All other frames are still the same old trifold trash.
