  • Myrta Barvié ji was the pioneer of Indian classical dance in South America. She began her artistic career as a ballerina at Colón theatre of Buenos Aires. There she met Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale and was invited to learn the art of Bharatanatyam.
Then she and her mother traveled to India in the lates 50’s. Myrtaji lived and studied in Kalaksetra where she began her career as an Indian classical dancer. She graduated some years after and there on she studied Kuchipudi and Odissi as well.
This video is a small homage I have gifted her on the occasion of Guru Purnima, many years back...I have added another symbolic dance about freedom as it’s the way I can perceive her soul now.
I was lucky enough to spend 15 years with Myrta ji. I was there until her last breath and Im eternally grateful for the chance to serve her. She is my beloved Guru ji, a friend, a mother, guidance and a permanent inspiration and always will be 💙🙏🏼
As long as I live you will be remembered with love and devotion Myrta ji. We will dance together and rhe fragrance of your being is my divine gift.
Thank you, thank you, thank you !
Atma Shanti mo pyari Myrta ji,
    Atma Shanti, Shanti Devi 🤍✨🙏🏼
