why would anyone not be allowed to get a CAC test? I don't understand.
Same story in my case. All parameters good, but cholesterol "too high". Not allowed to have a CAC, will not authorize a CIMT, even if it's out of my own pocket.

I started low carb in 2011 at 245 pounds. Got down to about 190 and stayed there for about 10 years. Then had a NSTEMI....no stent....had 2 collaterals. Switched to Ketovore.....now 173 pounds. I must be a lean mass hyperesponder......because despite 1 to 1 HDL to triglyceride ratio....VLDL of 9....HSCRP of 1.3....my total cholesterol is over 300....LDL of 233.
I do take low dose Crestor for its anti-inflammatory benefits. It just seems the longer I stay low carb and the leaner and healthier I get the higher my TC and LDL gets.

occluded original artery. How much of Keto for 12 years was involved in this??? I ask this in the most sincere way. For in year 2005 my LAD Heart artery was occluded blocked 60%__From multiple CT Angiograms Budoff.UCLA scans. From year 2005 to now
october 2023 I was not on Keto. Knock on Wood I have no stents. no heart bypass. no heart events. My current BP blood pressure is appx 120/80.
Hope there will be a research on prolonged water fast on how to stabilize soft plaque immediately.

That is exactly where I am. CAC score of 70, lost 67 lbs but gained a few to be 5'10 195 all on Keto with blood work showing everything in the normal range. Doc won't do CAC, CRP or Lipo a tests.
My guess is that you have to pay for these tests yourself. What do you think?

agree get the tests. seems worth the money. Docs proba bly thave charts that say if x and y do z. if not the provider won't pay for z.

Keto is not the BOMB! Carbs NEED to be ingested,. Make them Low G.I. ones. Weight is the problem. Rid yourself of it without Keto. I have achieved that. Cholesterol is NOT the enemy...
