We were rolling out 30 feet lengths of roofing paper all the the way back in the early 90s. One of our club members came up with the idea when We were caught in a dilemma of hosting flying guests from the Dallas electric club who could not use the landing gears because of our grass. . ISo 'm a big fan of rolled roofing paper for 2 reasons. Is much cheaper and slightly more rigid that the geo stuff. No planes over 30 ounces is our rules. Much more portable and faster to lay down. It can be readily rolled and put away after every session so it can be a temporary field even at public parks.
