For most of the former USSR states the USSR period was OBJECTIVELY the most peaceful and prosperous times in the entire history of those nations. This isn't my opinion, it's an empirical fact. yes there are some exceptions such as Latvia for instance. Unless of course you are in the Russian minority there. but I digress. For most of those states, Russia was if anything too generous to them in the USSR. Subsidized them at Russia's own expense in the spirit of communism. Today Russia is a high income country with a highly educated population and most of those states under Western management are dysfunctional and underdeveloped.

It is a generalization that goes far. Polish history does have a trauma regarding the Russians - but so have they regarding the genocide the Ukro Nazis did during WWII (who, btw. see the that time German leader as a saviour), and the Germans. But Poles unfortunately have some reason to that and these issues are not yet settled. I do not know the Baltic countries enough, to be honest. But Hungary, on the other hand, is different. After 56 there was a kind of deal between the Soviet and Hungary that led to a developing and peaceful period, regardless the Socialist rule. I think the same applies to Slovakia and the Czech Republic - regarding the latter at least what some Czech people told me. And no, we do not hate Russia (whatever it means) and I believe that the people in the post-Soviet region understand more about Russia and the heavy heritage Russian culture than those on the West. And as we see that the Soviet imperialism with its ideology was very different to the current construct of the Russian Federation and its intentions. But before we move on - what about Catalonia and their independence? The Que volen aquesta gent was written not long ago and as I recall Madrid simply suppressed the Catalonian independence movement lately (again).

Speaking as a Russian who has been living under Putin for almost all my life. Everything that Roman says that Russia doesn't do is false. We're expanding our cities, building new infrastructure there, building schools and we actually have a pretty solid education based on what people who went to somewhere like the US say. And I don't really understand what's with the "they don't build universities" line. We have a lot of Universities and Colleges already, and considering that the education in University is free, it means the government would have to spend even more money on a University with the identical educational program as in the neighbouring University in the same city. There should be a request for that in the society, but there's none either. It's just a dumb line the author of which doesn't understand anything(which is pretty typical for ukrainians with diplomas at this point)
What will happen after Putin? It depends on who will be in power 6 years later(I don't believe Vladimir Vladimirovich will do another term in 6 years, he's too old and he should understand that himself). There're rumors that he already has a successor, and if that is true and people will vote for him, nothing will pretty much change, which is good for us! We need stability and growth which Putin provides
Also, thank you, Sebastian! I was surprised to hear someone from Romania being on our side. We appreciate that😌

Medvedev wont be a president anymore. Putin will be president till 2030 and Medvedev will be 64 y.o., which is a lot considering dramatic changes in the world. But most likely Putin will be president till 2036, so Medvedev will be 70 y.o. which is too much for him, taking account he isnt nowhere near as brilliant as Putin.
So we all will be very surprised about next russian president, i bet it will be some smart and dedicated man in charge which is 35-45 y.o. now. You can look at all ppl in power in this age and you will quickly get list of about 20 candidates.

Hello, I am from Central Europe, and for a long time, I believed that the West was intelligent, smart, strong. However, what is happening here (migration, oligarchy, immense increase in the cost of living, nothing being done for the family, normal people no longer being welcomed by anyone) makes me think otherwise. We in the West have gotten ourselves into a huge mess, it's like the West is collapsing into itself, because nothing grows to the sky. In companies here, you must have a certain percentage of trans people, gays, etc. The bureaucracy is unbelievable, with regulations and prohibitions (such as the increase in the price of sugar for children). This makes me sad. I look at the East, especially Russia, as an island of normality, where a man is still a man and a woman is still a woman, where there is support for the family and nationalism, because what forms a state is the nation, what people believe in and what they have in common. It seems to me that in Russia they still know that everything has its limits and that it is necessary to adhere to them because only then can everything work. If I had the courage, I would love to come to Russia and thank your nation for accepting me. Greetings from Western EU.

But I visited Russia through out my lifetime 3 times, Once when I was very little, once when I was a teenage boy and once not long ago. And I can vouch that Russia is like a phoenix coming out of the ashes. Meanwhile, through out that time I saw how Israel is declining into this liberal infested shithole. The economic powerhouse of our country (tel-aviv) is literally one giant LGBT flag. It should be enough said for you to understand what has became of this very traditional nation. If I would describe it in a single sentence. Imagine the democratic party becoming their own country. This is Israel. Our roads are falling apart, people are going completely insane, I even had arguments with my close relatives about how men can not become women.

Initially Putin was a project of Russian oligarchy to replace inefficient Yeltsin. He has managed to pursue his own policies but still he is in no way a revolutionary or a visionary person. He just keeps the balance in Russian politics. Sometimes it is justified, sometimes not. Sometimes I wish he would be more radical.

The Georgian war was started by Georgia with unprovoked shelling of civilian city Tshinval (South Osetia), they literally bombed civilian homes with no reason and NOBODY in civilization world blamed them for that, NOBODY even asked them for reason why they did it, but EVERYBODY blamed Russia when Russia interceded for innocent people.

Hello from Russia, despite i agree on many things that you say, i want to put out some points.
Firts of all, Russia is big, yes, but contrary to what you've said our territory not that good, and if we will compare the median temperature in most of the land, you'll see that most of our land is not so very good to live. I live in the Russian Far East, more precisely in the Khabarovsk city, where's it's considered to be a "temperate climate", and our weather is literally dogshit. In Khabarovsk there was a snow. In may. And it's like this in most of Siberia, Russian far east and northern Russia. So my point is that we have a lot of land, but compared for example to the US or China, our land not very good for living, that's really why there's not 300millions Russians but only around 120-150millions, cause our land not that good.
Despite that, most of the land we lost, especially in Ukraine/Belarus, the Baltic states and Caucasus is very rich on human and natural resources or very important to the strategic defence of our "heartland", Moscow and other big cities, and that's why we want Ukrainians and other states either have governments loyal to us, or just annex those territories, cause they're very rich, and have strategic importance.
But despite those points, i really like to see that there are a lot of people in the West who want to cooperate with us. How sad, that all of our (russian) tries to make ourselves part of the west (Lenin, for example, was the most progressive politician of his time, read about sexual revolution in early years of soviet union), have failed (Boris Yeltsin and Putin wanted for Russia to become part of NATO, even USSR tried to apply to NATO, but all of those attempts were declined by the western politicians).

He got his sailing diploma in the Netherlands. My country was also the first country in the world to recognize the USA. We saluted an American ship that came to St. Eustatius. Nowadays the Netherlands follows the Anglo-Zionist Empire..I moved out of the Netherlands.

It's the past 4 years of living in Western Europe that have opened my eyes wide and i can now see clearly. Also my brain finally switched on.

And all this, being under the most pressure recorded historically 🤯
If in the past i never thought of that, this seemed like a natural course of events, recently I realised who we have to thank for rescuing our Motherland 😢

I have a Russian Woman and would not trade her for a Million Dollar. She IS a woman in all aspects. Very humble , immensely skilled and educated with a heart of Gold. Granted, she is in her early 50's, we met when she was 45. We never just once argued, we had conversations and talk about things but never once did we argue, never once did she not behave like a respectable woman and person. Now I also now not all are that way, especially the younger generations and especially from the Ukraine. Many of those Generations are out for Money, Luxury and lavish Life. Don't be fooled to think she loves you ,especially forever. If there is a better off Guy coming along you are dropped like a Hot Potato. As for the older Generations , Russian and Germans for example are much more the same than most European countries. Austrian are the same as Germans and Russians are right Behind. Not Italians, not French, not any country in the West. Of course the younger generations are so confused now a days, they don't even know who and what they are.

Keep in mind that he is former KGB and spent many years in the West. He knows how they think and how they operate. He now uses that experience to his advantage. However, even people who do not know and talk about such things should know what is happening in reality. The part that I saw about a year after Mariupol was occupied by Russia, I will honestly tell you that I was blown away, not only by the new look, but by the way things that are opposites are harmonized, for example traffic in relation to children, parks , roads, parking lots, etc. I literally could not believe that people were even thinking about traffic-pedestrian relations, in terms of safety. Incredibly!! What tells me personally that this man does not know, he knows and he is lying, or he simply did a "job" for good "money"!??

Never underestimate the collective memory of a people/culture/nation/. Yes, the russophobia today is disgusting and ignorant. But here comes the but... But - in some countries it has a good soil to grow on, if you get my point. Past conflicts, - in eastern europe, the Soviets and their rule - the communist scare - and if we go further back - for example, in Sweden - they lost half their land with Finland, and fought (as an aggressor, but still) more wars earlier (Karl XII) . In the mind of the Swede today - (although the last war they participated in was more than 200 years ago) they still fear Ryssen... (the russian). That fear is pretty deep in the collective psyche, seen to their reactions today. Imagine for nations/peoples that had dealt with the russians more recently?
People are complicated, and groups of people even more. I'm not making excuses for the Russophobes, but acknowledging the complexity of the issue when seen in a larger context. It's really gotten way out of hand. Thankfully, more and more people look up the truth for themselves, and also, as this channel does, share those truths. So there's hope.

@@desarc6855 Memory is a very subjective thing. We remember what we want - if we've been hurt, we remember that - not the action prior to that (that may indicate our own fault in the hurt). Add to all this the propaganda through the years by the ruling class, thus shaping the collective memory. Which will be used at a ny given moment to stir up those memories for their purpose.
