It is important to know that Dick was friends with both James Taylor and Carly Simon. I think he did a great job of bringing out the essence of both of these artists!
Carly Simon was amazing. I still listen and love her music.
James Taylor and Art Garfunkel - The sweetest and most melodic voices.
James has blessed us with the most beautiful music and lyrics as well being a wonderful performer. Best and Brightest all the way. Thanks James for making life so enjoyable. Bravo! Bravo to RUclips as well.
One of my favourites of James'! So beautiful! Appreciate the simple things!
Just when I thought I couldn't like James Taylor more, I go and watch this and LOVE him! What a beautiful soul. Calms my sadness and touches me where no other songwriter ever can... to the heart.
I agree, he calms my sadness too. That song, The Secret of Life, has awakened my appreciation for the passing of time. I've been singing it to myself as I walk to wherever I'm going.
Carly was my favorite female singer growing up, had all her Album's when they were Album's. She was a lovely intelligent gifted singer/songwriter. Loved them both was a shame they couldn't make it work and I wished I had appreciated Cavett back in the day but it was Carson for me, thank goodness for RUclips to get to find these gems☺
Started relistening to Carly again this year. Such great musi
c
Great to see such talented people. James and Carly nail it about drugs and the desire to use them to connect when in fact they disconnect relationships. Thanks to Dick Cavett for bringing them together for this show. He had many music legend entertainers like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and John Lennon.
James, like Jimi Hendrix, seems so shy when it comes to talking, especially about himself. But put a guitar in his hands, and ask him to perform, and he instantly comes to life. They were a nice couple. But, like the rest of us, they are human. And sometimes, no matter how hard we try, our relationships just don't work out. They've both done well through the years. Good for them.
I never heard this song before and it is so lovely
I love their music for decades.. so great and impressive to see this honoust interview..
Exquisitely beautiful song by James. In addition to my love of Carly's voice and music, she has always been the most beautiful woman to me. I was once asked by a teacher, who would I like to be if I could be anyone, and I said Carly Simon. To have been endowed with a sensual and evocative voice, physical height, and exceeding beauty, I would have been grateful.
I miss the styles of this period, the muted earthtones, comfortable shapes and fabrics, natural hairstyles, minimal makeup, all that.
You and me both
Absolutely! They look like just regular folks. And act like it too.
I’m practically obsessed with the style of this period-the entire decade fascinates me (was born in ‘’71, so my memories of the the first half are understandably not all that clear) but for some reason, 1975-79 seem to be the pinnacle.
Yep, love the seventies❤what a time to have seen, and been alive❤
Just his voice and guitar - sublime.
It really shows how much Carly loves him so much., touching and holding his hand and James so calm and just wants to makes music
James Taylor is such a lovely guy has a very calming persona, love him X Love Carly Simon too, her song Coming Around Again is such a wonderful song. X
You really need to read Carly's book.
"The secret to life is enjoying the passage of time".
I'd totally forgotten about that song, and don't know why, because I love it so much!
You people are tough. Cavett had a style that was welcomed back then...as for Carly and James...they are very introspective artists who gave it their best to come on on TV and give an interview...They went beyond their fears and did the best they could. Obviously, performing is where they seemed to be most comfortable...but if you listen to Carly ... even that could unglue her. As a singer/songwriter I can relate to the whole interview. I really enjoyed seeing them be themselves...comfortable or not:).
@ Giorgi Baino
Thank you for your perspective! I'm glad you enjoyed this!
B4inSF I really did. it gave me great insight into the artistic process...and it was nice to Carly and James together performing.
+Pasquale D.avino I am having hard time translating:)
Two beautiful very talented people. It's a shame - like any relationship that it didn't work.
I am so glad this was posted. Unfortunately because of Carly's stage fright and their son Ben being so ill, we don't have much footage of them together. I love when they sing together. Cavett usually does wonderful interviews but this one was stiff and uncomfortable. Perhaps because both Taylor and Simon were uneasy being there. I would love it if they would do an album together again. Their voices fit so nicely together. Again, thanks for posting.
So very amazing that this interview is so very honist ... Thank you for sharing your words. I'm so very pleased this is posted and kept to share w/ friends ...
❤
Didn't James and Carly have a bad divorce ? People say they don't even talk to each other since the divorce .
@@Airon79 Yes - not sure what went on in the end of their relationship. He was heavy into drugs - could not seem to get off them but once he left Carlie he broke the drug habit. I read her book and the book her last husband wrote - very strange childhood for Carlie and bit of a 60's wild child. Maybe that does not lead to healthy relationships? She has now lost both her sisters - must be a bit difficult for her although close to her children - I think. Anyway both were great together when they sing and wish they liked each other enough to sing a few new songs together.
@joannmarie61 Not to be mean but she goes through men like most people go through clothes . But that might be more that the entertainment is rough on relationships and not something like she hates feeling like she's trapped when in a relationship . I was just wondering what drugs they did , other than cannabis or alcohol , like : cocaine, meth , acid , etc .
Thanks for posting this. I saw it when it aired in 1977 and I taped the audio on a cassette to re-listen many times. it's cool to see it again. I've looked for it over the years. Great.
Great show. I only expected to watch a little, but, was drawn in and watched the whole thing.
When singing she’s looking at him and he not looking at her. It says it all.
Well to be fair he did look
at her at times but he was playing guitar, and you do have to see what your left hand is doing.
Wow, this is just an all around brilliant pair of guests, putting things so damn well.
Thanks! I had never seen Carly so uncomfortable before. The bad tension between the two of them was palpable. I'm just finishing her book - which is great, by the way - and it's so sad that they couldn't make it work. But that's the way it is... anyway, compared to the majority of people on Earth, both have had a wonderful life. They have survived, after all.
+Ricardo Monteiro I agree with you on all counts!
I'll read it soon!
I remember watching this live and was able to zero in on the awkward exchanges I remembered. But, then again I find all the old talk shows to be kind of awkward. I think they plan them out more now.
James Taylor, what a hypocrite! Sells himself as so simple and wholesome, but he was a serial cheater and heroin addict. Poor Carly.
Try not to judge, there's so much we don't know. As far as I'm concerned, both were extremely important in my upbringing and I love and care deeply for both of them. Happy Holidays! :)
Wow, those two were such big influences on everything in the 70's. I'm so glad they still write music, and sing. I love how Peggy Lee kept singing until her voice sounded old. She still drew crowds.....and so do they. I guess they are the comfort food for the baby boom generation. We need all we can get of that with the way the world is now. Or is it the same as it ever was?
It has been a great ride so far enjoy!
thx to Cavette, Taylor, & Carly ... things worked out for them ... and I hope that everything works out vfor the rest of us.
I LOVE what James said about his past experiences with drugs. He is such a great guy. I met him and he is kind, funny and I share many life views with him. :-)
He then went on the eventually beat it!!! Good job James!
I love the honesty! So great.
Oh my gosh, I cannot believe that I heard the word "homely" referenced. Carly was never homely or ugly. Beauty is not all about asymmetry. Beauty goes to that heart from within radiating to the outside of the person. Carly has always had a good heart, a good voice and Carly is a beautiful person. If she had not been beautiful her career never would have happened. I am thinking of her in the Let the River Run video when she was in her 40's too.
Stars don't reveal these things about themselves anymore. I miss the old days.
God what an old video that had nothing to do as we know now about the the truth of their life. Never seen Cavett so nervous.
Such a beautiful moment when James asks Carly if he 'got out' at a point in the song, and she says she didn't think he got out and touches his arm. Vulnerability at its most tender.
well, she realizes what a great Fucking artist he is
Oh... Brings back many happy memories
I just love this couple and had hoped that their marriage would have been a lasting one!
I really enjoyed that! James is such a real guy, a beautiful soul and so is Carly! I do wish they'd have lasted, too, but, alas... Their vocal blend is sterling and their spirits meshed. Notice how she looked at him as the spoke or sang. He was always inside of himself. Wouldn't it be cool if Dick Cavett reprised his show as a special and brought them back with an update?
You were so right for each other, Why is Love never easy.
James Taylor is a great talent but yet a very humble man. One of the truly nice people on this planet. I wish there were more like him.
This comment is not meant to disagree with you but for information only.
In a documentary about Livingston Taylor, there is a sequence where he talks about having played with Tom Chapin (brother of the late Harry Chapin). Tom enjoyed playing with Livington so much that he suggested they go on tour and call themselves the Brothers of James and Harry.
Livingston, however, immediately said, "no, no, no let's not go there." The audience laughed awkwardly.
I have often wondered what James may have said or done to his own brother to get that kind of reaction. Was James a nice guy or was he really something else we're not aware of. Carly after their divorce in some interviews -- didn't have much to say about Taylor that was nice.
Livingston was really livid about it. But he never elaborated.
I was always a fan of the actor Burt Lancaster -- but when I met him (I was a publicist in the entertainment business) he wasn't such a nice guy at all. It really bothered me that who I enjoyed was such an ass in real life.
@@lastrada52 I'm glad you mentioned that meeting with Burt Lancaster. The person we see on screen can be far different from real life, that's for sure. Jimmy Stewart was always my favorite actor, until I found out what a racist he was. Same for the greatest character actor I've ever seen, Walter Brennan.
From Livingston Taylor's book: Although James is not interviewed, Livingston talks about their friendship, and says their bond is strong. “As a brother, you've got to find a space for yourself,” he said.Aug 15, 2018
It's common knowledge that James had a serious drug problem in his younger years. Maybe that's why his brother made the remark you mention.
@@felixmadison5736 - I think you're right on all accounts. Thanks.
James is so much more comfortable when he is holding his guitar! I felt so uncomfortable with his body language during the interview. Definitely felt the wall growing between the two of them during this interview. As much as I always was sad they broke up, I can see why now. Love them both so much! And I love this song so much!
Did he really just call them an "old fashioned, conservative married couple" This guy is off his rocker??
He was teasing. Tongue in cheek. If you listen to more Cavett interviews,, you will understand.
You are quick to judge. Context is imp. Hard to see caveat as off his rocker. Compare that to daddy, Epstein, etc…. Or are u an extremist?
Dick Cavett was so awesome.
You can not be serious???
Yes seriously Dick Cavett is awesome .
I miss jukeboxes and record players... that once did play James Taylor, Carly Simon, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin and so on. Carly is so classy and has such a set of pipes on her! I miss real music coming out. At least it saves me money. lol
I was a 16 year old and could not wait for this show to air in 1977. Carly & James were the IT couple of that time and had avoided appearing on television together in a sit-down atmosphere up until then. I remember being so let down after seeing this show. Dick Cavett is a snooze as an interviewer and James and Carly seemed uncomfortable and weirded-out by the whole experience. Seeing it all these years later, I still can't understand how he could have taken such intelligent, talented people and led such a boring line of questioning and conversation.
💯
One interview does not establish anything about an interviewer. I think just about everyone knows Cavett is the best and everyone coming after him has tried (or not) to match him if they have some % of his intellect.
Thanks for this!
Dick Cavett is a master class interviewer. He took on some of the most difficult guests (Sly Stone) and consistently brought out something interesting in the process. He's not only brilliant and well educated (Yale, at a time when that actually meant something), he matched wits with some of the best in the business and held his own. Before Wikipedia and instant access to information, one had to rely on a razor sharp memory and insatiable curiosity. Go and watch how he handled Yoko Ono in an interview with John Lennon which had disaster written all over it. Watch his interview with Oscar Peterson, the legendary Jazz pianist, Groucho Marx and Bobby Fischer.
This was a time when people actually talked to each other, attended social functions together and knew how to actually communicate. His friends list was the very definition of eclectic so regardless what a guest threw at him, he always seemed to have a personal anecdote to contextualize it.
Even though he's sympathetic to most viewers because we love his music, in this interview it's clear that the blame for this failed relationship rests squarely on his shoulders (we now know he was strung out at the time). What's truly amazing is how subtlety he did it.
Just to freak everyone out: Carly Simon's longest-charting hit, "Nobody Does It Better" was written by Marvin Hamlisch, and recorded in...1977.
You know, damnedest thing, but I attended Yale Law School 2000-2001 and there's something just annoying about this sort of Yale-inside joke shit. Nobody cares where Cavett went to college. Yale proves nothing up or down.
Neil Delaney Just some more elitist New York Liberals yukking it up
Really odd case--this seems like a perfectly fine interview. I must have been drunk when I criticized it at all. Peace to anyone I offended.
I think he's stilted and self-conscious
Wow. Oh wow. Classic. Wish they'd of done an entire duet album, loved their voices blending together in harmony... too bad the marriage wasn't that harmonious.
Thanks for uploading this. I've loved JT since the 70s and have enjoyed him in concert a number of times. Always seemed a wee bit nervous while talking during a concert, but this video shows it in a new light for me.
Secret O Life was so gorgeous live. I remember playing the JT album over and over as a teenager. But this interview is bittersweet. James seems distant to Carly and that sad, she's such a beautiful artist and woman.
Agree that he's distant and even a little caustic towards her-
Sad because she really loved him and still does-
James Taylor is/was a legend!
I think that was Dick Cavett's brilliance. He didn't necessarily know where it was going and it had a quality of real conversation in real time. I find his style very relaxing, soothing. People shared in an honest way in response to it.
James Taylor = TALENT.
I feel strongly that James Taylor was an extremely complicated and conflicted as a young man. It appears that he was also abusive and a pathetic example of a husband, Hugely in denial and pained. Who is to judge and know truly knows what transpired in their relationship. He is brilliant and so is she.
isn't it so funny how we all wanted them to last...but my love relationship went all thru these years, with ups and downs, and mountains of love...and he just passed away...they did it the way they could...and they did it well...
what a stilted interview
it was stilted because of the subjects. they were very uncomfortable.
Indeed. Dick Cavett is pretty insipid. Not sure how he ended up with his own show.
@@icecreamforcrowhurstIt was a whole different approach than talk shows nowadays though. No studio audience, no hype, no studio music. They’re all friends and they can be a little awkward and make dorky jokes here and there. Dick was generally really good a putting his guests at ease and people didn’t feel pressure to be “performing” in the interviews. I find it kind of refreshing to see people just having a normal conversation like real people.
Taylor didn't get clean until after their marriage in the early 80's. He gave Carly hell for 12 years with her trying to get him off drugs, then he leaves her, hooks up with another singer and he is clean within a year. Talk about a slap in the face. And now he won't even talk to Carly, the mother of his 2 kids ... real classy guy
That is so sad! I think Carly never got over James.
Emma, how do you know all this since neither of them ever talk about it? Did you just read something off the internet and regurgitate it here or do you know them personally.
Emma, That's the most honest thing that's been said here - not gossip but instead, their sad story.
Makes me wonder if he was compensating through the drugs, that their relationship was somehow toxic ... perhaps even her family/name bringing "impossibilities" to the table?? With their lives so completely out there in the spotlight and the pressures on them, maybe they didn't really have a chance (with the things they had to keep under wraps). To have insight into the true story would be worth so much, but how to have such and not dishonor the many...
She put up with hell
But that was neat when she, referring to James' diction in song, quoted a line from "Secret O' Life" from the JT album still unreleased...then told him sorry, I didn't mean to give anything away. Dick Cavett did cite "Handy Man" and I think that was the single preceding the album. I was a young kid at the time and that song was on the radio a lot whatever part of the year that was in '77. And James was still fighting addiction and not nearly over with it as we now know. Smack, tough stuff.
absolutely so right on, MmeMirabeau. Thanks for your thoughtful post.
I love Carly Simon.
She was an inspiration in my youth.
She personified a free spirit who doesn't lose control.
Passing through the ups and downs of life.
I am glad she chose to stop puttting on airs and being so unreachable, and unrealatable in her interviews.
She will always be an inspiration of elegance and lady like modesty.
And so much more.
❤️
This interview is So awkward.
Taylor left because he wasn't worthy.
And he didn't have the heart that his songs elude to.
very interesting ,,,james is quiet and shy .....damn good looking too
Wha?! dick caveat rocks- i mean~ he was the one to get THE interview...think about it....taylor suffers no fools, and carly being sociallly phobic- Dick Cavett was the whisperer for them #Cavett #Respect
They look so uncomfortable and there seems to be a degree of tension between them. She is almost apologetic when she addresses him. He seems really introverted.
Who the fuck cares, that's none of our business
their voices blend well
Two great talents singing a duet together. liked cavett's joke. I wish Dick Cavett still had a show on tv.
James Taylor and Carly Simon are mortal enemies now, he tours with Carole King who is a great singer. Carly's dad is
the founder and owner of Simon/ Schuster publishing, she always tried to live up to his expectations.
The first time The Secret of Life was ever played in public, a great message on drug addition that most people will never get...
Thanks! Wish we could find a better copy!
This interview is not without it's pleasures but OMG The Dick Cavett show is like a cable access sketch on SNL.
I never really was a Cavett fan so didn't see this show. I've been a longtime James Taylor fan, however, so neat to discover this old footage. Sorry their marriage didn't work out but I think they are amicable today at least.
Oh no they are not, sadly
@marjoe7 I first saw this about 8 years ago. As a Carly and JT fan I was uncomfortable right away with the introduction by Mr. Cavett as he portrays them as such a loving couple. I agree this is a very troubling interview given the perspective of history. I wonder, though, what it was like to see this when they were still together? Was the distance between them as real as it seems to be or is it the perspective of what we know now?
why would anyone not want them to last? Taylor has given us an enduring living body of work, and that "weasel" is a beloved American Icon, who's name and songs are loved and recognized the world over, boring audiences for more money in one night than most earn in a life time. show some respect or just move on. thanks for sharing this video.
Dick Cavett wasn't nearly as smart as he thought he was. I don't understand why he asks James Taylor about song-writing and not Carly, since she was also a song-writer and a very good one. Cavett was known for getting interesting guests on his show, but Taylor and Simon aren't particularly interesting, and I don't think that's entirely Cavett's fault, although the interview questions are pretty bad. I did like hearing Taylor and Simon perform.
Taylor is by far a much better songwriter and much less egotistical.
Carly is beautiful.
I do notice how they are sitting so far apart-and the stiffness-compare to John and Yoko, a few years before-they were SO together, though of course they had their trials also. Being passionately in love is one thing-Carly and James were at some point-look at their wedding pictures-but staying in love, through the years-not so easy.
I thought they were even separated at this point and not in a stable marriage.
B Kavanaugh They had a son in '77 so I doubt they were separated at the time of this interview.
I so remember watching this when it was on. I loved it, but it is kind of awkward at times. I like Cavett, but find that is true about most of his interviews. You never knew where he was going with his questions and I don't think he did either.
It's pretty obvious they are pained to be doing this interview & their body language and quick glances say that they both know their marriage was already over - it's just that no one else knew this till later....
I think you're just reading into things after the fact. When interviewed JT always came across as somewhat pained and reluctant. Really it's Cavett's insipid personality and strange comments that make the situation awkward.
Wow. Dick Cavett set the tone and it was sooooo stiff and uncomfortable. I even felt nervous after Dick spoke. It just set up for everyone else to be nervous.
No these two were the tense ones. I have seen Dick interview before. Handles situations well.
Yes. That coupled with an empty tv studio really taxes the vibe.
"I hear you're the queen of stage fright. Are you experiencing any symptoms right now?" 🤦♀️
I can remember in the book her brother did of her in the 70's she said James was a Fairweather father. I think she wrote a song about it.
Here we have the three water signs of the zodiac ,James (Pisces) ,Carly (Cancer) and Dick (Scorpio) and the evident free flowing connection between them ,a greatly intuitive sensibility which seems to allow them to speak candidly and without reservation .
It is really too bad that James couldn't maintain a professional relationship with Carly because they made beautiful music together. He doesn't even speak to her.
His current life and wife is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better for him, and for anything, much much better that they are together instead, such a stable and healthy relationship, this here was just training for the real thing
Truly Wonderful!
Never liked folk music at all, but find them both so interesting. Clear to see the problems here.
cavett asks james taylor to say something anti drug not knowing
that james was still using heroin around this time.
Exactly what I was thinking
they seem very formal with each other - weird vibe
Frankly the weird vibe has more to do with the production than Taylor & Simon (& Schuster lol). First we get the ridiculous theme music, followed by 3 people in an empty tv studio one of them being the thoroughly undynamic Mr. Cavett. Not exactly a recipe for cool vibes now, is it?
Why WASN’T there an audience?
"I like the children to be influenced by 'thee' and 'ei'"
He was painfully uncomfortable with intimacy and she craved it. We’re all just doing the best we can.
That is probably the most compassionate way to describe them and their relationship I have ever heard. Very wise!
I like some of Taylors tunes although to spend $80.00 to see his concert would be like paying to take a nap!
+Anthony Richard I've seen him in concert several times, and believe me, he's worth it. He is one of those artists who almost sounds better in concert than on recordings--great band, great back-up singers, he talks to his audience between songs and is quite amusing. Plus, if you've only heard the songs that have gotten play as "hits" on the radio, you don't know the range he has. There's a lot more to him than Fire and Rain and You've Got a Friend.
$80 to see Taylor? That's a steal. I spent that much to see and hear Bob Dylan recently and it wasn't good at all. I blame myself on that one. Bob was just there to collect a check.
right on bill545555! not sure about your Steely Dan reference talk about transparent.....but I'm totally on board with DC making a a schmuck of himself here.
Carly makes a comment here that no one has ever posted about. It is at least one attempt to bring this showcase for sainthood back down to earth in the most hilarious and humorous way. It went unnoticed.
BRILLIANT
This video popped up so I watched it. Many comments here about Dick Cavett being at fault for an awkward, stiff interview. You don't have to like Cavett, but I do think Carley and James were uncomfortable. Over the years, both of them have done many interviews, and we find their marriage was very difficult. James was still on heroine during this interview. He admits he was a distant husband, even terrible, he's said. They did have fights, and he was was frequently cold and uncommunicative. He was depressed from an early age. I'm glad he finally quit heroine. They both have wonderful music to listen to. His second wife helped him get off drugs.
She loved him like nothing else.....Truly the mannerisms of endearment. Things don't work out. I think it was a lot. Too much maybe for JT.
If Grant Wood were alive he'd paint you? Oh, please.
Hey Dick Cavett, *Carly* went to Sarah Lawrence. Why didn't you ask *her* about college?
I do agree on the college question to James. Should have asked Carly and James was SOO uncomfortable with that question. He may not have known James did not go to college. Carly tries to cover up for James.
Brooke Hanley I don't think she's covering for the fact he didn't go to college. JT is clearly a very intelligent, thoughtful man.
Interesting how he's saying that it's tougher to get into the music industry now because it's so much more saturated than when he started. lol... James... it's only 1977.... .. wonder what he'd have to say about getting in the music biz now... in 2015.
Harsh commentary. These people are artist, not professional speakers. I didn't see anything unusual about it at all - just two sincere people trying to get through an interview. Cavett didn't help - really stiff and dumb questioning.
Dick Cavett was horrible! What an idiot!
Oh my gosh, did James write this song about their impending divorce?!?!? The lyrics seem to explain it all!!! Wanting her to accept it and just “enjoy the ride sliding down “ away from each other. ( while it lasted)Carly says coded to him “I was touched n moved “ knowing what the lyrics really mean. Does anyone else sense this? It was a rough marriage for her. She loved him and loving suffered thru it all.
Taylor didn't like talking about himself--even within the confines of their marriage, according to her book--and she had stage fright, so you can't blame the fumbling nature of this interview on Cavett. Plus who knows what kind of day they were already having, since her memoir says that after an idyllic beginning their relationship was wildly up and down, all the time, often going from one extreme to another within very short periods of time.
Awkward? This? Not really. Maybe slightly, but that was Dick Cavette's style of interviewing people. Things were done differently back then. If you want to see "awkward", for REAL, watch him do the ABBA interview! Now that is a bit "cringe-worthy".
As for Carly and James, I don't see the "not getting along" that people say, and I've watched this closely. If they aren't, I think they hide it well, for the most part. If anything, I think James is more "awkward" (as in maybe he wasn't feeling the same toward her, and it showed a bit in his attitude toward her).
Otherwise, it "seemed" (though maybe it wasn't in reality) like they were getting along like a regular couple might. Not perfect, but still getting along (As well as can be in front of a camera being interviewed!).
The saddest part was when they sang together. Then, the truth of the matter was more obvious -and I felt like SHE was singing her heart to him, but like he could hardly look at her. Now THAT was sad and awkward to see. Shame they couldn't have worked it out.
I always hate it when guys, who wouldn't try with their wife, THEN go on to work and try so much harder with the next wife/girlfiend. Especially when they seemed good for each other! It always makes me feel bad AND mad that they didn't.
Especially when you have kids, you TRY!! Not leave, THEN kick the drugs and grow up and say -ok, THIS one I'm gonna make work. THIS time I'm gonna be a father and be close to, and there for, my kids. Sorry, I have no respect for you, then.
OR like the ABBA guys, who could have tried harder to work it out, but didn't -then DID with the next one that "came along". Why didn't they just work it out with the girls? They were both such good couples together. Even Bjorn said (years later) he wished they hadn't jumped to divorce without trying some more. Sad, too. As I am big fans of theirs. But it is what it is. *sigh*
I was just going to say this then I saw you wrote it already.
Love this guy... and all his idiosyncrasy's .. his speech impediment, stutter, and his awkward quirky movements are endearing I think.... super intelligent ...

We all did, Susie196921. Let's be happy we have this.
@vaccavo as far as I have read she still does love him.
