These parts... have a story. I wasn't intending on joining this map, I saw the call about a month before volunteering, but for whatever reason didn't listen to the whole song until one night before bed, when I was figuratively hit over the head with fight choreography. I wanted to ignore it (Because dear god I join too many maps for the amount of work I put into them) but I just couldn't resist!
I thank SaraXu in the video for helping me by creating the backgrounds, She is an amazing artist and I would not have finished these two parts without her! : / @saraxu

I swear, if any animation truly captured the lake scene of the book, this would be it. I’m a huge sucker for intense expressions, so I loved how you were able to make such a dynamic fight scene packed with so much raw emotion! SaraXu’s backgrounds added so much life to your already incredible animation! Really well done!!

Aaaaahhhhh, ALEX!!!! You continue to make some of the best fight scenes in the entire WC community! I love your use of camera angles here! The shots are all so dynamic without ever sacrificing clarity. Not once did I question "Whoa, what happened?" because the characters are so easy to follow on screen. That's something that's really difficult to achieve in any medium *coughTransformerscough*, so I'm extremely impressed! :O You continue to be a huge inspiration to me!!! Thank you for sharing your amazing animations with us!

This is amazing! I love the intense use of inbetween smear to simulate fast movement, and i always love your style, creating a mix of anthropomorphic expressions and realistic anatomy!!! The amount of times i replayed this is great, its so action filled and flows so well! Great job!!!!

This is just insane, Alex! I'm so happy to see it again and will probably watch it forever. Every time I do, I notice something else that's just beautiful about it - whether it's how an action is timed perfectly to the music, or how solid and dimensional your drawings are, or the gorgeous editing. It's just wonderful, you've really outdone yourself this time.
gosh ive watching this so many times and slowed it down and just watched the frames and my goodness you drew every frame so beautifully and it just, loks so smooth i cannot believe how you have gotten this done so fast to be honest, i can tell you put your heart and soul into this part and this animation of this scene will be one that will be remembered for a long time

Your fights are so powerful and dynamic
I actually want to cry, your animations are always amazing and they get better and better every time!!! I've never seen anyone animate the fight between the two brothers like this, usually it's just the moment Hawkfrost is stabbed, or the lead up to it. You captured everything, from the angle to the lighting to the fluid movement of the battle. I especially love how you included Firestar in the backgrounds, observing the fight, everything about this is fantastic!! (not to mention the little spinning thing the stake does, I love that so much omg, it's like a little "wait for it..." moment to build tension!!! aaa!!)

Honey. You're one of the best animators I've seen!! you're up to Disney standards! my favorite part was the oh so realistic blood splatter. I love anything that includes fighting or blood in warrior maps. I dislike then a person hesitates with blood with warriors. I'm amazed.
Oh gosh this is so, so cool. The lighting is beautiful, and I love all the little movements, like Fire in the background and Hawk's tail twitching. I also love Bramble's smooth moves with the stake and all the emotion. It's absolutely stunning

Brambleclaw unsheathed his claws and flung himself at his brother, who stood by the dying ThunderClan leader, Firestar. For a quick moment, Hawkfrost looked surprised, then narrowed his eyes and prepared himself for Brambleclaw's attack. Firestar lay watching in surprise as the two dark tabby brothers collided. Brambleclaw sunk his teeth into his brother's neck, but Hawkfrost kicked him away. Brambleclaw leapt again, but hawkfrost jumped under him, sending the other warrior crashing to the ground, where the white-tufted warrior quickly pinned him. Brambleclaw felt helpless until he saw the sharp metal stick that drove into the ground, which held the fox trap in place. Pushing Hawkfrost off of him, he made a beeline for the sharp stick. He yanked it from the ground and it twirled a bit until Brambleclaw caught it, seeing Hawkfrost in hot, angry pursuit. He drove the sharp end of the stick forward, lodging it into the tom's neck. Blood splattered everywhere, and Hawkfrost fell down, dead. Brambleclaw panted, eyes wide, while the spirit of his mother, Goldenflower, stood behind him.
"Don't be scared, kid." She tried to persuade him.
Revisiting this because it's amazing. That's it. It's just amazing. Like, Brambleclaw running and then grabbing the stake and watching it spin and then him catching it while in mid air is so fricking addictive. omg

The part where Brambleclaw stabbed Hawkfrost makes my chest actually hurt, it was so realistic, good job! ^^

Someone used this video in a tiktok compilation and without credit. They said “subscribe to me for more” and gave no credit in the description. I asked for them to at lease give credit and they havent. So I thought it was best to let you know.
There's very little I can do for tiktok takedowns, the best thing to try is to report it and not bother with talking to reposters. they know what they're doing is wrong and they don't care that it's stolen. but I also hate tiktok because it feels in-navicable so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Question: how does the fox trap even work as a fox trap other than to act like some sort of plot device thingy to get HawkFrost dead??
OMG i dont know if anyone mentioned this but I love when Hawkfrost had brambleclaw pinned to the ground their tails were wagging, its great detail and I noticed this because I kinda like to watch cat videos of them fighting and the cats wag their tails , idk if its a way of showing they are mad, but most likely.
Oh my goodness this is by far the most dynamic animation ive ever seen of this scene! I love how the spike/pole spins before bramble catches it!
I've waited a long time to comment on this because I needed to get my thoughts straight about it. It's very ambitious-the production level is insanely high and the framing in most of the scenes is some of the best i've ever seen. it's a really spectacular piece, and the critiques I have are nit-picky. however, the movements of the characters leave a lot to be desired given the level you're operating at.
The first thing I wanna talk about is your tweening. It's frustrating to watch because you've almost got it to where it's seamlessly integrated, but not quite-it's an uncanny valley kinda thing. for the first cut, at 0:23, you seem to want to slow brambleclaw down, but the "camera" shakes unnaturally; instead of the shaking, an arc-as if he was finishing that last bound forward-would look more natural. the following shot, where they're jumping at each other, is probably my least favorite part of the project because they look somewhat like two stuffed animals being lobbed at each other. the leaps are too lateral and too far apart-both of them should arc up to meet each other in the air as if they've just leapt up, and hawkfrost ends up on the opposite side of the tussle from where it looks like he should have gone.
post-tweening, the part is a clusterfuck of stuff happening, way too fast to understand what's going on. each new movement of the characters (i've found three distinct actions-0:25 they hit each other, 0:26 bramblestar's got hawkfrost in his mouth even though we haven't seen him bite down and then hawkfrost kicks him away back first, 0:27 bramblestar is now on his feet bounding and jumping forward) is completely disjointed, and the backgrounds don't make sense with how they're supposed to move.
the physics of their fight are difficult to suspend disbelief for, too. having hawk kick bramble away directly instead of the disjointed clash-bite-kick-jump and then cutting to bramble recovering and then jumping forward would have been more comprehensible. the angle he's coming down on hawk is also way too steep, and hawk pauses midair when he jumps up to counter bramble-he should have shoved him as both of them were moving. his landing is also completely unrealistic, as he wouldn't be able to move his legs back under him after kicking out-he'd likely rotate in the air and come down facing away from bramble.
0:29 to 0:36 is a perfect example of the physics done right-it's gorgeous to look at, and everything has realistic weight and momentum. it's a bit fast, but that's hard to help, as your part is time-limited. the last shot of hawk falling away made me double-take at first, as the camera angle movement wasn't quite as pronounced as it could have been, but it makes logical sense watching a second time. bramble's expression at the end is phenomenal too-it feels really raw and realistic. the only thing that i caught here was the stake twirling around, but that was clearly a dramatic choice, and doesn't take the viewer out of the scene the way inaccurate character movement does.
despite what i've mentioned, this part is unbelievably good, and i'm incredibly excited to see more uploads from you.

As you can see there's quite a bit of it and there are several different shades, meaning there's just all kinds of love I have for this. I apologise if this comment was a bit overwhelming, annoying, or inappropriate.
