- I've had this on the backburner for a while! I think I knocked a big chunk of it out in like... November? And have been chipping away at it for a while. It was a pretty big project, similar in scale to Drive by but it only took like five months of intermittancy rather than like four years so! that's fun.
I kind of love Breezepelt even though he is garbage. He's a pretty good sympathetic asshole.

I love how you acknowledged and showed that Crowfeather had panicked and saved Breezepelt/paw when he was nearly buried alive and how Breezepelt never really knew that by showing Crowfeather hugging/thanking Jayfeather for helping save his son but Breezepelt had misinterpreted that. Nobody ever seems acknowledge that and ignores it when they try to argue that Crowfeather never cared about his son.
I never even considered how Antpelt’s death could contribute to Breezepelts hatred for Thunderclan.
Heatherpaw says at a gathering that Breezepaw is a fun cat on good days so it makes sense they’d be close.
It makes me want him to become a villain even more. He’s such an interesting antagonist.

I think you're mistaken, the orange lineart cat at the end isn't Lionblaze, when Lionblaze is shown here it's only in a negative light and tbh, for good reason. Their relationship doesn't really change

Even though I've not read past the final battle I can perfectly understand the rest of Breezepelt's arc just from the way you've portrayed the scenes! You're so good with storytelling and even as sketches, the scenes with high stakes were such eye candy! I love to look at animations frame by frame to see how it works and this one was such fun to just watch!
I love this so much!! Your art style is super pretty and I can't wait to see it completed! And I can't express how happy I am someone made a Breezepelt family video without demonizing anyone. That means so much to me.

Who gave you the right to be so good at storyboarding choreography and character acting and my gosh I don't even read these books and I was able to understand this story so well just from this video... phenomenal work!!
Always felt like Breezepelt was struggling with the realization that he was merely a product of Crowfeather's desperation to prove his loyalty to WindClan, and when Crowfeather realized too late what he had done, Breezepelt was already so far gone that it took him a long time to accept his father's apology. You've really brought that aspect out here in such a beautiful way. ;u;

Breezepelt being a good dad brings tears to my eyes. You’re animatic made me tear up, because I believe that it portrayed what a lot of people saw in Breeze, a hurt, but good hearted character. Thank you, for opening of the eyes of a lot of people, and giving this cat justice in a way.
I love this one because it shows how much breezepelt changed from a 'villain' to a loving character.

EDIT: OH! I forgot to mention lol, that I love how you make Crowfeather in this. He doesn’t look at his son with anger or coldness, but just in like, fear of loving him because of his past. It’s a nice touch from cold hearted Crowfeather that we see in other maps and Pmvs😊

This is so incredible!!! Your ability to show Breezepelt’s entire life story in one short video is amazing. The transitions especially are so on-point!
There are so many things I love about this animatic. The subtle relationship between Crowfeather and Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Hollyleaf. The nod to the friendship between Antpelt and Breezepelt. His reaction to Antpelt's death via Ivypool shows his sorrow and how his hatred for Thunderclan grew. It was also lovely to see his relationship with Heatherpaw and Onestar.
This is absolutely wonderful (haha I'm funny) but really this really makes you feel for Breezepelt and just,,, you can tell how much time went into this, amazing work!

I've watched this I don't know how many times now! Not sure what else I can say that hasn't already been said by others, it's just so good and so well put together and it perfectly represents Breezepelt's story. I can practically picture it as a finished product it's so clean. I absolutely loved all the little family shots at the end, they put a big ole smile on my face!
One thing I wanted to ask is what Heathertail is saying at 2:05 ! It's just obviously not the lyrics so I was just curious! (I think I got 'Breezepaw are you alright'? But I wasn't sure!)

Okay, I’ve been watching this on a daily basis what have you done
okay i know this was posted quite a while ago but i think ive decided this is my fave warriors animatic 👏 the emotions are so expressive and you captured the character of everyone SO WELL!!! especially breezepelt and crowfeather but theyre all so accurate to how i imagined them while reading. my favourite part is definitely from 2:35 to 3:17, everything is so raw and i literally feel the expressions aaaaaugh im such a fan!!! good job alex, this is definitely my fav interpretation of breeze like, ever
okay editing to add this comment im sorry but i think the shot of him stealing the rabbit kill from crow is so strong and underappreciated! i love how crowfeather catches up, and instead of reacting he just. says nothing. and his expression goes from annoyance to raw guilt and almost shame while hes catching his breath is so loyal to his character and i adore it

And the lipsyncing was perfect and that cat anatomy was just beautiful. I'm a sucker for correct anatomy and movement/behavior... so this video is just beyond perfect.

Oh dear, my heart....I was thinking about this the other day. My parents fought all the time when I was really little. I think that's why I didn't hate Breezepelt too much. I didn't like what he did but I felt for him.
Favorite character by far, sorta evil and an asshole but love him
I love how you portray both Breezepelt and Crowfeather. Crowfeather wasn't a good dad, but it didn't mean he hated his son. And yeah, Breezepelt was a butthead who thought violence was the answer. But now, he's better, he's made up with his father and has really developed into a neat character.

I relate to this on a spiritual level, with my dad leaving me and my mom for some other kids, loving them more than me, me tending to be moody and a huge dickhead. Which is why I love Breeze. I see a bit of me in the little shit lmfao.

MMMMM oh man is it bad taste to say that this animatic is absolutely wonderful because it IS and i love it so much and also how youve included so many of breezepelt's important story beats in here?? or whatever its called, the defining points of his life we get to see its extremely cool and dang if this isnt one hell of an appropriate song haha
It's nice you don't show Breezepelt as some "lost poor baby with no choice but to train in the dark Forest and is so sweet" yeah, Crowfeather wasn't the best father, but Breezepelt was manipulated from the Dark Forest and really believed he had a reason to be bad. He really believed his dad HATED him and he HATED his dad and his mom was so in the right and they're so nice. He's a bad man, Breezepelt wasn't a good guy, he's just too edgy.
Luckily, he became better in Crowfeather’s trial

Wow, this is absolutely stunning. It tells his whole story in almost 5 minutes. The animation is so good! Love the lipsync and it is just perfect for a sketch. I love the expressions, they show so much emotion. The storytelling is just awsome, love the different shots. It is just really really creative and easy to follow. Absolutely amazing!

This is amazing. From the beginning right down to the two half brother's teaming up to take out the stats. That book really brought out a lot in Breezepelt
No matter what lack of attention Crow gave Breeze, he tried his best. Breeze did awful things that can never be forgotten, and I'm not quite sure he deserved to get off so scott free, but this animation is beautiful, and though I still despise Breezepelt, really captured the emotional conflict in his family.

I can't quite put into words how much I love this video, it's such a wonderful (haha, get it) song to illustrate Breezepelt's feelings and honestly I adore the portrayal of his entire family, which I feel is kinda a hard thing to do sometimes. The story you tell in the video is so clear that even my uncle, someone who knows nothing about warriors was able to follow it (and he loved it) and how you hit certain beats with certain scenes is just incredible!!! (the choice to show Antpelt's death on the most exaggerated 'no' captivates me, it's so perfect, I also love the lil hints at his and Breeze's friendship, like him having the fake thicker eyebrows to mock Crowfeather) I just love this so much A+ will watch a million more times

Holy heck this is gorgeous! It's amazing how you can convey so much emotion thru just sketches, and while Breezepelt isnt a fave I definitely felt like this gave me a new perspective on him! I love that you included antpelt, they didnt really have a connection in the books (they're both rash and abrasive so youd think theyd be buds!) and it's cool to see them hanging out and then seeing Breeze mourn for him in his own way. Also Heathertail, her involvement with Breeze is sweet too! God I just cant say enough about how *wonderful* this is, though it's no surprise because your work is always so good aah!
