Yeah, Ashfur had total emotional issues. I feel bad for him and even though it doesn’t excuse what he attempted to do i can still get what he felt from a human perspective
@@pjgtail I'm mostly just sick of every other villain being depicted as murder edgelords and whatnot, like emo murder edgeboy scourge or psychotic 'nice guy' edgeboy AshFur. I don't remotely condone what he did but I feel like he could have been a good character if he wasn't written so poorly. To me it *really* feels like the Erins realized "Wait we need BrambleClaw to be the good guy" so they decided to make AshFur a psycho to counter Bramble's abuse to make him seem like a better option
@@pjgtail they could have added a bit more to Ashfur's and Squirrel's story, fleshed it out more. Slowly let the attachment issues come out. I mean, he did lose his mom or sister early as far as I remember. So they could have used that as him being attached more, obsessively more.

In his eyes, she saw her own, frightened and heartbroken. The question was simple, yet laced with so many emotions it was hard to control her own tears. Her ears flattened.

Ashfur has allot of content, there’s no denying that. But this map, this was something that managed to feel so different from the others while still being about the same character. Congrats to the hosts, the animators, and thank you for this BEAUTIFUL work of art.

I’m so obsessed with it because of how well the artist did at capturing all the characters involved’s emotions through their eyes. It was beautifully executed and so powerful
When he screams at SquirrelFlight so why don’t you love me back and then goes into a teary expression, I feel like I can feel how he’s feeling, it makes me feel sorry for him. ESPECIALLY with the bagpipes 😢
That ending was really bone chilling - watching the blood start to form in the water as Hollyleaf flees the scene. To think that the murder happened during the credits is insane. It's such a nice detail. This turned out amazing! Everybody did so great.
I love the part at 0:32-0:47 when Squirrelflight showed up like "What's going on? What happened?" then Brambleclaw nudged Ashfur gently and turned with an "He is gone." expression and Squirrelflight shook her head with disbelief and regret and helped carry Ashfur.

okay umm--- I already know this will be a long comment, I have multiple things I need to say, so bear that in mind,, words can barely express what I thought watching this. First of all, I love how Brambleclaw was genuinely sad and remorseful when they found and treated to Ashfur's body. I have never seen anyone else do this before, but I just really love it! It shows how in this, anyway, he never really held any hard grudges against him. Second, I love how somebody finally showcased Ashfur as more desperate and spiteful, rather than just fueled by pure revenge. Like, you gotta admit, most depictions of the ol' fire scene, while good, mainly just show him more as just out for revenge. But I love how dramatic he got in this. Third, how he died in general in this. I haven't read PoT in years, but I swear wasn't one of the details of his death was that his body had floated a ways away and ended up where it was? So I like that detail, along with Hollyleaf cleaning the blood off immediately afterward in the water. just,, kudos to all the amazing artists in this, they did a spectacular job!
@Rose Skywalker The Weirdo yeah, I will never justify, or even understand some choices he made, but I thoroughly stand by looking in any fictional character's perspective that you can. Not always sympathizing or understanding a character's actions, but still understanding where they're coming from, is my personal number 1 rule for reading. So basically with Ashfur I'm always like, "ya got dumped, and are forced to live and look at her every day, but damn dude, don't attempt murder on most of her family!?"
He didn’t purposely start the fire, but he did assist in an attempt to kill squif’s father and then was prepared to let her three kids burn alive because they dated for two weeks and then broke up three years ago. So yeah, I think t h i n k that might be why she doesn’t like you Ashfur.
this map doesn’t paint him like villains like tigerstar or mapleshade, but a lovesick cat, it kinda makes you feel bad for him even more especially when he gets murdered and his death is lied about. I can see why he came back in the broken code more clearer now not for just squirrel but mainly for injustice aswell, like this actually showed his emotions and not him being some weird yandere. This was beautiful and well done.
I think it portrays him as more of a crazy, obsessed cat who really needs to sort stuff out. The map makes it clear that Ashfur was incredibly sad, but the map also makes it obvious that Ashfur was NOT in the right to try and kill a bunch of cats.

Watching Ferncloud in tears and Ashfur drowning makes me realize... *the background characters REALLY deserve better.* Drama can be necessary to a story, but Ashfur’s story and life has been pretty dang unfortunate and for what tho??? He was never my favorite cat and he never will be, yet only the *wonderful artists* that made this map possible can drag sympathy from me to one of the most *infamous* characters.
IT IS SUCH AN HONOR TO BE A PART OF THIS MAP!! It came out so beautifully and I know it’s going to inspire and impact the community in a huge way, thank you Chilly, Lunepools, and the rest of my fellow animators for all the hardwork and patience in making such a beautiful product.
This is one of, if not the best MAP that I’ve ever seen. There’s so much raw emotion that stings you when you listen to the lyrics; almost everyone can relate to that feeling of rejection, and that really shines through here. Kudos to all the animators and people who helped put this together, you did a fantastic job!
It's nice to see a map about Ashfur that focuses on his emotions during the arc in a kind of different light, mostly it's all "He was super angry" or "He was super violent" when this MAP says "Yeah he was angry and violent but he was also really sad about it and his emotions all came out in this one scene" The animators did an amazing job portraying his moods and emotions, good job to all of them!

The raw emotion put into this animation is some of the best I've seen out of any Warriors MAP. It matches perfectly with the vocalist's scratchy, sometimes too loud, sometimes too quiet, desperate singing. The variety of styles and absolutely stellar facial expressions lift this to such a high level, and the atmosphere of all of the story beats having their own color palette takes it even higher. I've waited years to see this complete and I'm just stunned by the result. Well done to all of the animators and artists.
There wasn't a single second in this MAP that wasn't incredibly satisfying to watch. Every participant did such a lovely job and it turned out beautifully! Stunning work you guys!

This was the first map I ever stuck with waiting for, watching the parts before it was released, waiting for it, and now rewatching it a year later. It is still absolutely stunning even after all these years, and I love all the parts! You can see clearly how much effort was put into this and it defiantly payed off
the reason why this is such a good map is because of the colours. it goes from grey to a bluish grey to a sudden orange/yellow/green pallete and then a purple/grey/blue with some pops of green, then suddenly very red and a lot of fire and stuff then purple then grey again its so gooooooooddddd

This song gives me all the feels and I can't- I found myself lipsyncing, just screaming with tears freaking in my eyes. The emotion in this is just so raw and powerful and I can't express how much I love this.
@foxsnax did such a good job in the part they animated, showing so much emotion in the shapes and sizes of the eyes and head movements, to me was honestly a highlight of the whole M.A.P.

In some ways, I can relate to Ashfur. Obviously not the.. trying to burn children alive part, but I have my own Squirrelflight. I can understand his anger, but obviously I don't support his actions. However, This song hits hard, especially put into Ashfurs story, since I can put myself into his shoes sometimes. Everyone did wonderful on this map, and I'm not sure how my replay button isn't broken.

Scenes with fire hit... More than I thought. Ashfurs expression in that ones is something, that is really a Masterpiece. Everyone has done a tremendous, immeasurably great job, and I'm happy that I was finally able, after years, to finally see the final work. 🤲💛
This is absolutely amazing! If I had to pay $50 to see it at a cinema, I would pay it and not regret my decision. So excited for this project! I haven’t watched most of the parts because I’m so excited and want to see the true beauty for itself all together, but from what I’ve seen, everybody has done really great!! This MAP in particular means a lot to me even before it’s released because I ended up, technically, naming myself after this MAP! Of course I chose Rory because it just fit, but this MAP is what led me to really become attached to that name and to realize that’s what I wanted to be called, so thank you for that! So hyped to see the final product!
I kept seeing a lot of fanart for this map on twitter, so I had to come see for myself what all the fuss was about. And OH MY GOD yall did not disappoint. The emotion portrayed in this map is just amazing. The animators did such a good job there really wasn't a part of this map that I didn't like. This MAP was truly amazing and i would love to see more from the animators in the future for sure!

I've been waiting for this MAP to come out for what feels like an age. Rory has easily become one of my favorite songs in the meantime, and this has been one of my favorite projects to watch. Everything about this is flawless-- the scripting, the animation, the amount of emotion captured for sure. Thank you for seeing this through to the end, and thank you to all the lovely animators that took place.
I haven't felt this much emotion for Ashfur since I was a middle schooler reading the books for the first time and fully believing that he was, in fact, a good man (yikes; here's to growing out of that phase!) This map is one for the record books, for sure. An absolute masterpiece. Everyone involved should be super proud of themselves!!

i’ve never felt so emotional🥺 Ashfur has always been my favourite canon character. i related to his hurt and how much he was in pain, the person i loved didn’t love me back. he was almost the only character i drew often back in my big warrior cat phase...i really loved this and it made me literally cry💔 especially when he began to sync the screams and cries, even if this was all drawn and animated i seen so much emotion in Ashfur’s face and eyes😭🥺❤️ thank you to all the animators yo worked together to make this amazing map of our beloved Ashfur!!!!!!!

Favorite Ashfur map by far!! easily now one of my favorite maps!! Y'all caught everything perfectly, from the emotions that Squirrel flight felt, to how Ashfur and Hollyleaf felt. The only thing I wish I would have seen is when Holly comes back, Bramblestar claims he saw Hollyleaf and Ashfur fight. I think it would have been a nice touch to see Bramble hiding in the bushes and hiding his foster daughters secret.

This has got to be one of my favorite MAP’s ever :0 Everyone did such an amazing job! God, the emotions and animation, and the effects- Just- Everything. It’s perfect. I’m left wordless. I can’t express how much I love it. Up til the end credits. I absolutely love how the blood slowly spreads with the waves, and how we get to see Hollyleaf fleeing the scene. Quite chilling to think the murder happened during the credits. Oh gosh this is going to be one of those MAP’s that I hold close to my heart.

2 years late but omg- The raw emotion in this MAP is awesome, especially in the fire scene. And this is stunning. In all honesty, I think this is my favourite Ashfur video now, the way he's portrayed in this- Just wow. Everything about this MAP is brilliant. I've watched this so many times its freaking incredible. It seems like everyone who worked on this didnt just do their parts beautifully but closely communicated with eachother in order to make the transitions seamless and the vibrant colors of Ashfurs blue eyes and the fire match each part. Either that or someone edited them all to match at the end, either way bravo

Ashfur has allot of content, there’s no denying that. But this map, this was something that managed to feel so different from the others while still being about the same character. Congrats to the hosts, the animators, and thank you for this BEAUTIFUL work of art.

I love how Hawkfrost was added. No one pays attention to how the two were friends and understood each other.
When he screams at SquirrelFlight so why don’t you love me back and then goes into a teary expression, I feel like I can feel how he’s feeling, it makes me feel sorry for him. ESPECIALLY with the bagpipes 😢
That ending was really bone chilling - watching the blood start to form in the water as Hollyleaf flees the scene. To think that the murder happened during the credits is insane. It's such a nice detail.

I love the part at 0:32-0:47 when Squirrelflight showed up like "What's going on? What happened?" then Brambleclaw nudged Ashfur gently and turned with an "He is gone." expression and Squirrelflight shook her head with disbelief and regret and helped carry Ashfur.

okay umm--- I already know this will be a long comment, I have multiple things I need to say, so bear that in mind,, words can barely express what I thought watching this.
First of all, I love how Brambleclaw was genuinely sad and remorseful when they found and treated to Ashfur's body. I have never seen anyone else do this before, but I just really love it! It shows how in this, anyway, he never really held any hard grudges against him.
Second, I love how somebody finally showcased Ashfur as more desperate and spiteful, rather than just fueled by pure revenge. Like, you gotta admit, most depictions of the ol' fire scene, while good, mainly just show him more as just out for revenge. But I love how dramatic he got in this.
Third, how he died in general in this. I haven't read PoT in years, but I swear wasn't one of the details of his death was that his body had floated a ways away and ended up where it was? So I like that detail, along with Hollyleaf cleaning the blood off immediately afterward in the water.
just,, kudos to all the amazing artists in this, they did a spectacular job!
@Rose Skywalker The Weirdo yeah, I will never justify, or even understand some choices he made, but I thoroughly stand by looking in any fictional character's perspective that you can. Not always sympathizing or understanding a character's actions, but still understanding where they're coming from, is my personal number 1 rule for reading.
So basically with Ashfur I'm always like, "ya got dumped, and are forced to live and look at her every day, but damn dude, don't attempt murder on most of her family!?"
I agree, Ashfur seemed more desperate and spiteful to me and not just vengeful. I also like how Bramble reacted in the way you described too.

this map doesn’t paint him like villains like tigerstar or mapleshade, but a lovesick cat, it kinda makes you feel bad for him even more especially when he gets murdered and his death is lied about. I can see why he came back in the broken code more clearer now not for just squirrel but mainly for injustice aswell, like this actually showed his emotions and not him being some weird yandere. This was beautiful and well done.
But he is a villain for sure.

I think it portrays him as more of a crazy, obsessed cat who really needs to sort stuff out. The map makes it clear that Ashfur was incredibly sad, but the map also makes it obvious that Ashfur was NOT in the right to try and kill a bunch of cats.

Drama can be necessary to a story, but Ashfur’s story and life has been pretty dang unfortunate and for what tho???
He was never my favorite cat and he never will be, yet only the *wonderful artists* that made this map possible can drag sympathy from me to one of the most *infamous* characters.
IT IS SUCH AN HONOR TO BE A PART OF THIS MAP!! It came out so beautifully and I know it’s going to inspire and impact the community in a huge way, thank you Chilly, Lunepools, and the rest of my fellow animators for all the hardwork and patience in making such a beautiful product.
This is one of, if not the best MAP that I’ve ever seen. There’s so much raw emotion that stings you when you listen to the lyrics; almost everyone can relate to that feeling of rejection, and that really shines through here. Kudos to all the animators and people who helped put this together, you did a fantastic job!

It's nice to see a map about Ashfur that focuses on his emotions during the arc in a kind of different light, mostly it's all "He was super angry" or "He was super violent" when this MAP says "Yeah he was angry and violent but he was also really sad about it and his emotions all came out in this one scene"
The animators did an amazing job portraying his moods and emotions, good job to all of them!

The raw emotion put into this animation is some of the best I've seen out of any Warriors MAP. It matches perfectly with the vocalist's scratchy, sometimes too loud, sometimes too quiet, desperate singing. The variety of styles and absolutely stellar facial expressions lift this to such a high level, and the atmosphere of all of the story beats having their own color palette takes it even higher. I've waited years to see this complete and I'm just stunned by the result. Well done to all of the animators and artists.
There wasn't a single second in this MAP that wasn't incredibly satisfying to watch. Every participant did such a lovely job and it turned out beautifully! Stunning work you guys!

At 2:30, i loved the animators emotion so much it made me cry, everyone else had me on the verge of it but overall this was amazing!

This map actually means a lot to me. I’ve been rewatching most of these parts many times before the MAP was completed. Seeing the feelings and emotions of Ashfur really helped me to understand my own ones and to deal with them. Thank you all.

This was the first map I ever stuck with waiting for, watching the parts before it was released, waiting for it, and now rewatching it a year later. It is still absolutely stunning even after all these years, and I love all the parts! You can see clearly how much effort was put into this and it defiantly payed off

the reason why this is such a good map is because of the colours.
it goes from grey to a bluish grey to a sudden orange/yellow/green pallete and then a purple/grey/blue with some pops of green, then suddenly very red and a lot of fire and stuff then purple then grey again its so gooooooooddddd

I was so hypes when this map came out...
This song gives me all the feels and I can't- I found myself lipsyncing, just screaming with tears freaking in my eyes. The emotion in this is just so raw and powerful and I can't express how much I love this.
@foxsnax did such a good job in the part they animated, showing so much emotion in the shapes and sizes of the eyes and head movements, to me was honestly a highlight of the whole M.A.P.
Ahh after seeing all the work you put into rehosting this MAP and watching it come together, it’s surreal to see it finished!! I’m excited to see everyone’s reactions 😄.

In some ways, I can relate to Ashfur. Obviously not the.. trying to burn children alive part, but I have my own Squirrelflight. I can understand his anger, but obviously I don't support his actions. However, This song hits hard, especially put into Ashfurs story, since I can put myself into his shoes sometimes. Everyone did wonderful on this map, and I'm not sure how my replay button isn't broken.

So excited for this project! I haven’t watched most of the parts because I’m so excited and want to see the true beauty for itself all together, but from what I’ve seen, everybody has done really great!!
This MAP in particular means a lot to me even before it’s released because I ended up, technically, naming myself after this MAP! Of course I chose Rory because it just fit, but this MAP is what led me to really become attached to that name and to realize that’s what I wanted to be called, so thank you for that! So hyped to see the final product!
I kept seeing a lot of fanart for this map on twitter, so I had to come see for myself what all the fuss was about. And OH MY GOD yall did not disappoint. The emotion portrayed in this map is just amazing. The animators did such a good job there really wasn't a part of this map that I didn't like. This MAP was truly amazing and i would love to see more from the animators in the future for sure!

I've been waiting for this MAP to come out for what feels like an age. Rory has easily become one of my favorite songs in the meantime, and this has been one of my favorite projects to watch. Everything about this is flawless-- the scripting, the animation, the amount of emotion captured for sure. Thank you for seeing this through to the end, and thank you to all the lovely animators that took place.

I haven't felt this much emotion for Ashfur since I was a middle schooler reading the books for the first time and fully believing that he was, in fact, a good man (yikes; here's to growing out of that phase!)

i’ve never felt so emotional🥺 Ashfur has always been my favourite canon character. i related to his hurt and how much he was in pain, the person i loved didn’t love me back. he was almost the only character i drew often back in my big warrior cat phase...i really loved this and it made me literally cry💔 especially when he began to sync the screams and cries, even if this was all drawn and animated i seen so much emotion in Ashfur’s face and eyes😭🥺❤️

Favorite Ashfur map by far!! easily now one of my favorite maps!! Y'all caught everything perfectly, from the emotions that Squirrel flight felt, to how Ashfur and Hollyleaf felt. The only thing I wish I would have seen is when Holly comes back, Bramblestar claims he saw Hollyleaf and Ashfur fight. I think it would have been a nice touch to see Bramble hiding in the bushes and hiding his foster daughters secret.

I've watched this so many times its freaking incredible. It seems like everyone who worked on this didnt just do their parts beautifully but closely communicated with eachother in order to make the transitions seamless and the vibrant colors of Ashfurs blue eyes and the fire match each part. Either that or someone edited them all to match at the end, either way bravo
