Seriously outstanding recreations. The polymoog sounds nearly blew my head top . Who would beleive done on a d 50 , i like that slight unstable analogueish warble to the vox humana . Spot on !!!
Thanks. The D50 is a very capable synth way beyond what it's presets demonstrate. The Vox Humana patch isn't too bad but I've got it much more authentic now using the Virus TI2. Checkout Tubeway Days live at the Garrick Theatre to hear this and other analogue Numan style patches I did.
Actually Paul, they're all brilliant. I really wouldn't have guessed that these sounds had been created on the D-50. So many people say that it just isn't capable of analogue emulation. This proves otherwise, beyond all doubt. I think that the problem is that this is not an intuitive synth to programme for most people and they therefore aren't prepared to put in the necessary time and effort to get the best out of it. Again, brilliant job Paul. Why, even your name sounds like you ought to be in Numan's band!
Great work emulating his classic sounds! I'm impressed with how similar you made the first sound to the Wavestation, which was the source of the original patch (Vox Concrete). Same goes for the percussive bass in the Intro/Interlude emulation, which was originally a Korg M1EX patch. Overall, nice programming work!
Thanks for that info. I'm not even sure that I knew Numan used the Korg wavestation but after checking out the sound it sure is there. The patch I emulated sounded so much like a D50 and easy to achieve; I just assumed it was one. I'm sure I heard the same patch on X-Files years ago. I did know he used an M1 and struggled with the reso/percussive bass and it crossed my mind that it was from another synth. Cheers, PKH
Very true and especially so considering as they say; time is money. These patches must have taken a long time to perfect, surely? The Music for chameleons recreations are amazing.
kvfive thanks for that :) it’s very annoying when people show off patches and then refuse to share the patches? I would have no problems if I was the creator :)
Great work there Paul, as followed Numan since his inception. Would be very interested in the patches you've created in Pt.1&2 - can you make them available now?? Thanks and hope you'll create some more ......
Hi Paul, recently saw Numan at Portsmouth, brilliant!, so trawling around for some similar patches again on web .... Did you keep these you made for the D-50?, as really interested in getting these in to my D550. Let us know, cheers!
Wow, Can these patches be loaded into the GearMusic softsynth D-50 and if so - do you sell them? I see others have asked but did not spot the answer, hoping so. Serious enquiry.
You can't let me hear these and not give me the opportunity to buy them! Please? Excellent job, would put some life back into my d50 that's for sure. Let me know if/when I can buy them
I've never found any Daniel, but there are lot's of free SysEx banks out there for D50; however most of these are poor and uninspiring. I programmed these patches myself.
Hello PaulKingsleyHurst. I listened to your bank "Roland D50 Gary Numan Patches", congratulations it sounds! Please tell me if this bank (Sysex) is available for purchase? And if so, can we pay it through Paypal? Thank you in advance for your response. Cordialement Sylvain
Good Lord, you have a good ear. That level of accuracy given the limitations of the D50 in recreating sounds like these is extraordinary.

Now would be the time to release / share these excellent patches of yours.... Boutique D-05 & all that. Something to consider ;/)

I would love the Vox Humana patch!! :)
Gibson Weasel If you have a MiniNova or UktraNova check out the free 25 patches on my vids. 2 Numan patches in there, Vox Humana :-)

liked cars, and other sounds but, for me the friends Electric as far from a mini Moog richness and punch. Well done.

Great job. Could you please tell me where I can find Gary Numan patches for Roland d-50! Thank you.

Thanks for your interest, but the patches aren't currently available.
Why tease us with your patches when you aren’t prepared to sell 😪😪
The Photography Team Probably because he's more interested in showing the capabilities of the D50 than getting your money.
OMG! BRILLIANT! Would these patches work on a Roland FA-06?
They won't no; different spec completely.
Is there a method to create my own samples and send them to a D-50?
There isn't no.
MUSIC FOR CHAMELEONS SOUNDS GREAT
Hi Paul, do the patches work on a d-20?
Have you uploaded them anywhere?
They won't work on a D-20 no; different spec. They aren't currently available anywhere either, sorry.
@@PaulKingsleyHurst Bugger. I just bought a (working) d10..
Didn't know any of these sounds were possible parts 1 or 2 on a crappy D50. Are your patches for sale?
very nice ,compliments....
