    Agree with most comments. It’s 80% of Apple quality in terms of finishing and design but panel quality not great (poor Brightness and lightbleed) - I had 3 Razer 15 (2018 models) and same applies.
    As an owner of this 17” model, it’s a perfect supplement to my main pc rig (2080ti with 27 inch 144hz 4K)
    whilst away from home. The 17” panel is large enough without the need for me to hunch over the screen for detailed work and gaming which is mandatory for prolonged use.
    I was surprised the RTX 2060 is sufficient for gaming as well, I dabble with RB6 with some graphics tuning, it pumps out 144fps. I was surprised there was no tearing with the absence of G-Sync and no stutters. I paid way more for the same specs from the products from vendors (MSI and Acer) but what I wanted was something that is thin and light, minimal plastic finishing and one that is the least gamer looking (I use dBrand to cover the ugly green logo) and have decent cooling with bearable noise output. For those Apple fans which wants to switch to this for work and gaming, this is so much better than my MacBook 15 Vega 20.
    1080p resolution.... meehhhhhh and wished it was higher definition (happy to sacrifice frames) and to compensate , I use GeForce Freestyle filters and TXAA to improve sharpness and clarity. Not great solution but it is what it is.
    From my experience with top end MacBooks and Windows notebooks, this is the best Windows portable machine money can buy right now.
    Speakers, no where as good as the MacBooks and it sounds hollow. And keep in mind the weight of the power brick, it’s heavy if you are used to notebooks with USB-C chargers but the damn thing needs a large brick as it is the watts to power this beast.

    I don't know if you'll see this or not, but I just bought a Razer Blade Pro based on your review. Thank you so much for all your work and insightful commentary that makes it easy for even someone as technologically ignorant as myself to understand. In case you care, it's replacing a Lenovo Y510p, the performance difference is essentially going from no gaming in 2019, to all gaming in 2019. Any laptop would have been good, but I've always wanted a Razer laptop because of how good they look. I'm shallow like that.

    Looks great and the cost is a significant flaw. I picked up a Dell 7730 Precision with Quadro 4200 and i9-8950HK for $1,300 with three warranty. I love thin and light designs and using my laptop for onsite video editing, going with a 17" laptop that is "thick and heavy" satisfies requirements. Adding .5" inches of chassis on the Razer Blade Pro 17 and larger fan circumference would add minimal weight and eliminate thermals. While a niche market, I expect more manufacturers are adding thermal ability at the cost of thin design. Thank you, Jarrod, for another stunner review.

    Hey Jarrod! You have an awesome channel which I've learned so much from, I was wondering if you could give your opinion on choosing a gaming laptop.
    I'm looking for a think and powerful laptop that doesn't scream "I'M A GAMER" so that it can be used in workplaces etc. I have been eyeing the Blade Pro 17 max-q 2080 for a while now and the build quality, look, good thermals and great fps has been a big plus for me. I learned however that blade pro doesn't have g-sync, is this a big deal in your opinion and would it make you get another laptop if you were me? Thanks!

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  4 года назад +1

      Thanks! It's not a huge deal, but it is nicer having it smooth, plus G-Sync generally gives a 15% boost to FPS in games due to bypassing Optimus/Intel graphics. The ASUS GX502 has a similar sort of design (just black metal and clean) but has G-Sync, and non Max-Q 2070 so even more powerful but in a 15" body. Otherwise the MAX-15 from Eluktronics is available with same specs but about 20% lighter if you need portability, however no G-Sync there.

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  5 лет назад +1

      Personally I'd never go 17", I prefer the portability even if performance/cooling is a little less, overall still does just fine. That said the 17" does have some nice modifications, which as you can see make it perform very well vs other options with similar specs.

    How 2070 maxQ out performing an 2070 on the Scar III and Aorus ?
    could you do a review of the Eluktronics MAG-15 with 2070 maxq please.

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  5 лет назад +2

      The power limit is boosted to 100 watts, that's why, it's above Nvidia spec. Also, the CPU is undervolted -0.1v which helps, oh and the GPU is overclocked, basically it's tuned well out of the box. I can't get that exact model as they are in the US and I'm in Australia, but once it's resold under some other brand I'll be able to get it .

      @@JarrodsTech The Scar III has 115 watt Boost on the GPU, I thought that would out preform the Razor. Maybe with Undervolt on the Scar III would preform the same .

    I just brought this was loving it then downloaded a few games and noticed my games isn’t performing as well as yours? I have the charger in on max performance but there’s a lot of hitching that I don’t get on my desktop but your results are getting better than my desktop? I don’t understand

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  5 лет назад

      What results? What games? It's important to be aware that if you compare games where I'm actually testing in the game at different locations like bf5/fortnite/ping etc then you'll never be able to compare directly in a fair manner unless you do the exact same test run as me. The best way to even attempt a direct comparison would be to use games with the built in benchmark as they perform the same tasks. Also this is available with different hardware configurations so do you have the same?

    • @JustConkeh
      @JustConkeh 5 лет назад

      Jarrod'sTech it turned out to be Xbox game bar that was causing hitching and Game mode in windows was causing the FPS problems, not sure why it’s on there when there causing problems now my benchmarks are near identical!

    Jarrod, for comparison 2080 Max Q results of Heaven Benchmark on Ultra are 2983, Valley on max settings 4648. Overall 2080 Max Q preform 7 to 17% better than 2070 Max Q you have reviewed from what I have been able to compare so far...
    My stable CPU undervolt was 0.145. Could not quite reach same R20 results, as all core load after initial TDP boost caps at 55W which was around 3.3GHz on my machine.
    As the downside, really is the shallow key travel - even old 14inch Razer with Nvidia 1060 had a better key travel distance...

      Yes, laptop arrived with same 0.1 undervolt on the Core Voltage only. High Performance mode does apply GPU and Core overclock. Regarding the GPU wattage it is a strange one... under load it is averaging at 100W, but it peaks at times with maximum of 124W that I have been able to capture with HWinfo
