I'm 65 and this has always been my favorite song by the Scorpions. They were our last concert of the year (last year-2023). They were great and we hope that they come back this year!
Scorpions - the first band I bought a record of, it was actually a "pirate" cassette bought at marketplace. It was late '80 socialistic Poland and there were almost no official releases of western band's albums. This band brought me to rock and metal and will have a special place in my heart forever. Some years back I took my father to their show in Zabrze, they've made a huge impression on both of us. Awesome, greatly underrated rock band.
@@thelastowitch not really, they are a german band, they were the stuff of legends during the 80's, but black sabbath, iron maiden, rainbow, judas priest, deep purple etc just completely drown most of the rock bands back then. dont get me wrong scorpions is awesome, but not well known to the average consumer. i can go around and go to people and asked them which would they choose "iron maiden or scorpions" pretty sure they would choose iron maiden because those are more mainstream and way more well known (well known as in people have heard about them) due to less embargo back then, europeans have to go around few loop holes due to the political nature back then which kinda put a lot of obstacles in the entertainment industry. same goes with smokies, also german, awesome band, but hard to take off in western audience because of and again locations. Scorpions are one of the biggest name in the rock industry because we are more well verse in that knowledge.

It doesn't have to be. all it takes is a few young dudes who love metal. It takes someone who is truly inspired to make not only the riffs, but replicate the recording sound too. Old school metal had analog recordings, newschool has digital.
Being a german who grew up in the USA during the 80s; it may surprise you to know, the Scorpions are virtually unknown in Germany (outside their local area) while in the USA at the time they were as big as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest were, circa 1983.

It is so nice that Scorpions has aggressive heavy metal songs like Zoo or Blackout and at the same time has lyrical soft songs like Still Loving You, and all of these songs are so good! Scorps forever!
It is actually Amazing, no doubt. Back when this came out, you'd have to rewind the cassette which eventually would break (run out) after too many plays. Or a record, which could get scratched and you'd have to place the head carefully to be sure it didn't. Or listen to the radio for hours hoping it would come on. All of that is true. But there was something irreplaceable about living through it, when it was part of the culture. People wearing metal concert tour shirts were "cool". Plus, music back then was more poetic, you had to think about what it really means. Now, WAP is the jam of kids these days, and frankly that's just outrageously offensively sad... (and parents of the 70s/80s were worried we were all devil worshippers...)

I was a sailor in the USN, stationed abroad in Italy as a 19 yr. old. I was missing home, so lonely. Scorpions... God love them... u all are my honorary Shipmates.
I was stationed at Clark AB from 82-85, lived in a house with three other guys off base. We used to crank the tunes and I especially remember this song! It still sounds great when I blast it in my car on the interstate all these years later.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

@Beeintelligent It fell apart. Literally. Tiles were falling from the ceiling and onto the playing field. It was cheaply built and the roof was flawed and leaked badly. They spent millions to supposedly fix the roof but instead they made it worse. Plus it was an eyesore, especially from I-5 because you could see the top of the roof from it. They finally demolished it in 2000.
Quite possibly my all-time favorite Rocker!! Soon as I hear the first note of that intro, the volume goes ALLLL the way up. It's impossible to sit still when listening to this song, or to not scream along, lol. If you're driving, your right foot gets 500% heavier, too...
Never forget the time they played this live as the first encore and in the middle of the song everything but the vocals shorted out he kept singing for a little bit and then started laughing. I can’t remember who they were opening up for that’s how early it was in there career. This was in New York city . It was the beacon theater or the palladium when the palladium was a concert venue. This had to be early 80s but they put on I remember one hell of a show. In fact I probably seen them about five or six times and every time they were awesome live.
In the 10th grade I discovered The Scorpions and went to two of their concerts, plus seeing them in Tampa at the Monsters of Rock! They are an amazing live band! They sound just like they do on the record! And my buddy who also liked them, played The Zoo for me when he drove me to the recruiter station the day I left for Parris Island.

They spent millions to supposedly fix the roof but instead they made it worse. Plus it was an eyesore, especially from I-5 because you could see the top of the roof from it. They finally demolished it in 2000.
I was lucky to watch both of my favorite bands Queen and Scorpions,though separately in 1980! Long lived Queen❤
I saw them open for Ted Nugent the year before in Spokane Washington. I didn't even know who they were at the time... Ha Ha.

Quite possibly my all-time favorite Rocker!! Soon as I hear the first note of that intro, the volume goes ALLLL the way up. It's impossible to sit still when listening to this song, or to not scream along, lol. If you're driving, your right foot gets 500% heavier, too...

Never forget the time they played this live as the first encore and in the middle of the song everything but the vocals shorted out he kept singing for a little bit and then started laughing. I can’t remember who they were opening up for that’s how early it was in there career. This was in New York city . It was the beacon theater or the palladium when the palladium was a concert venue. This had to be early 80s but they put on I remember one hell of a show. In fact I probably seen them about five or six times and every time they were awesome live.

In the 10th grade I discovered The Scorpions and went to two of their concerts, plus seeing them in Tampa at the Monsters of Rock! They are an amazing live band! They sound just like they do on the record! And my buddy who also liked them, played The Zoo for me when he drove me to the recruiter station the day I left for Parris Island.

The rock station I usually listen to, plays classic rock. They played this song they seldom play. I rocked out. This song should have been played more. It reeks of bad ass rock 'n' roll.

my 1st concert in cincinnati oh about 1979. scorpions, ac/dc and ted nugent. in the service about 1985 or 86 scorpions in arizona. a scary concert. a couple of stabbings and no concessions for my previous nights hangover
I'm 500 Years young, I've seen entire nations come and go. I've travelled vast distances, from one end of the galaxy to the next, warping the fabric of time itself. My wife died 5 billion years ago, and I have to keep getting new ones.
Oh uh, and the scorpions are pretty cool too.
