My understanding is that in Angelina's case, AGT pursued her & her family to be on their "champions" show for quite awhile. She had only 90 seconds to perform here. Later performances don't have that limit, so she adds even more ornamentation. As Simon said the simplicity of this arrangement is what makes it so unique, thus her adding to it makes it somehow less authentic to we purists.

I love both, of course, but since I’m old, many of my favorite performances are her earlier, simpler covers where we get more of her straight beautiful voice-as opposed to more vocal ornamentation and dynamics as we see now. But for me, this Bohemian Rhapsody we just watched is my favorite live performance of anyone at anytime.

Mean ol Simon was forced to be honest. She knocked that out of the park. She was such a class act.💕
She had only 90 seconds to perform here. Later performances don't have that limit, so she adds even more ornamentation. As Simon said the simplicity of this arrangement is what makes it so unique, thus her adding to it makes it somehow less authentic to we purists.
I loved this arrangement and obviously her voice was amazing!
@tomrogers You stated that perfectly. I can’t decide if I like younger Angelina or today’s better. I love both, of course, but since I’m old, many of my favorite performances are her earlier, simpler covers where we get more of her straight beautiful voice-as opposed to more vocal ornamentation and dynamics as we see now. But for me, this Bohemian Rhapsody we just watched is my favorite live performance of anyone at anytime.
