  • One beautiful sunny sunday i went to trip on top of Makovica hill, which is about 700m ASL.Not so high but nice relax in the middle of the woods, birds all that beautiful things and fresh air. Trip was nice but i was not in sucess with radio contacts. No big deal but i believe in bright tomorrows :-D There was not a good time because of running SP Polish contest, even above 14.300 and on all main bands. Was not possible to do some normal QSO due to pileups everywhere. On 17m i heard only two stations. Both from US. One was running 1kW and second one (weaker) 100W. They had pileups from Europe. I have not heard any station from Europe this time. I did not added music because of nice natural voices from woods was there.
    Thank you guys for watching and 73.

    Looks like you still had a fun day. I like setting up portable. I found that I had very good results using CW at 5 watts out with my magnetic loop. SSB is always harder to make contacts. I hope you enjoy your new X5105.

    Another great spot to setup , but as we know sometimes we can make lots of contacts and sometimes not......... bonus is the nature and a picnic lunch with hot coffee , and of course the clean fresh air. 73 Paul

    Why does the radio screen flicker ?

    • @OM0ET
      @OM0ET  6 лет назад

      jiang jj hello. Screen was not so flicking on my own eyes. It was visible only with camera. Flicking is probably due to power saving or due to how this display works. I don't know ;-)

      I think it is the camera doing the recording. Shows a lot when i watch videos on the x108G

      LCD screens do have refresh time (they always flicker very fast). But human eye is incapable to register that blinking - its reaction time is too low. On the other side video cameras are much more sensitive and because of that register LCD screen flicker.

    Sometimes it’s like going fishing.... maybe u don’t catch anything but the fun of going out there is sometimes all we need. Nice video and beautiful place to live! 73

      Yes, exactly! I feel it same. Sitting there listen birds around and DX in SSB is my best relax ☺ And when I have a QSO it's like a bonus 😀 Thanks for watching! 73 Paul 🙋‍♂️

    Hi Paul, 700 above sea level is good. I operate from city area with old buildings around me and still get into France and Germany 5 watts and used the HB1B qrp radio and MAG LOOP

    Both the antennas have a loss of many dB compared to a dipole. This is not suitable for QRP operation.

      Have you seen already also my other videos with magnetic loops and QRP contacts? 😉

      No I haven't seen those so I will have a look. 73

      What antenna loss did you calculate? I was not sure about your comment regarding resistance. One web site is giving me 10.9 dB for a 1m loop at 7 MHz.

    QRP QRP QRP is not a callsign. Try giving your call someone may then respond.

    • @Bashnja1
      @Bashnja1 5 лет назад

      Also. QRP requires a superior antenna not a compromise one. But if you use CW you will stand half a chance.

    • @OM0ET
      @OM0ET  5 лет назад +1

      @@Bashnja1 it's not true... sure that fullsized antenna is still better than small one. But sometimes if you will working real outdoor QRP so you will realize that it's not so easy as you think. And very often the counter station response of my calling better when he knows that it's somebody with QRP and he will get my callsign later after picking me up. 73

    You Operator workflow is very BAD !!!!!! Do you have a license ? Ever crying QRP QRP .... Are you really crazy or what

    • @OM0ET
      @OM0ET  5 лет назад +6

      Thanks for watching. Yes I have a licence - Extra. There are some occassional situations when is "QRP" an easiest way how to tell to the DX station in the pileup that I am low powered station and it will give me a higher chance to be heard and to be preferred. But if you never been in a real QRP trip situation, you will never understand that and will write such a stupid comments. It's sad... btw. this video is edited and there are many cutted passages where I call normally with my call sign, but they are missing in this video. 73, Paul
