Thank you. I have to do this in the next week sometime for my employer (they haven't given me a day yet) I really want this job and I am trying to copy your videos and just doing the vaults with up and down has me winded. I am trying though and I won't stop. Tomorrow I am going to try the sprint and stairs. I am so happy that I found how they run the course. Now I can train on it. I will keep you updated. I really hope I make the time limit.
For the most part, length of legs makes no difference. I’ve seen short people clear the vault, I’ve seen y’all people struggle. For many, it’s a mental block. But if we’re talking physical, it’s the amount of power you can generate in your jump, which for most people they’re capable of doing. They just need to believe they can do it.
Technically speaking, both feet need to be in the air at some point. So you could do some kind of awkward jump/hop over the bar as long as both feet are in the air and no other part of your body touches the bar as you go over.
Ratedr 711 That’s a narrow minded view. I have helped many people overcome this specific fear, and in the process change and become confident. And not just confident in clearing the vault, but confident in themselves and believing they can achieve their dream. I know, and have trained, plenty of fine officers who had this fear. If they listened to your advice, our communities would be missing out on upstanding people. Rather than putting people down and telling them what they cannot do, why not help them instead?
Ratedr711 - I’m glad your not my trainer. There are many of us that find this challenging as agility isn’t the greatest. Having these videos to help us improve and or overcome our fears/challenges - gives us more ease.
That's not a very nice thing to say. If you want to have a pissing match, I've been involved in a number of awful scenarios working in downtown clubs involving gang members, idiotic drunks, country show enthusiasts, and users of modern chemistry, no vest, no weapons. Only brains, verbal judo, and some UofF training. Basically, what I'm getting at is... You want me watching your back.. When I walked up to the bar during my SOPAT, there was definitely quite a lot of mental anxiety, plus the stress of passing the SOPAT and 15 other candidates plus Sheriff's watching. It's a lot to take in. Thankfully they let you practice the course before your exam. You won't believe how many people had to "help" me overcome my fear of that hurdle in a very short amount of time before my actual exam. So show some freaking respect for the men and women that are willing to risk their lives and keep our communities safe and the people who help candidates beat these physical exams.

Wow!
Awesome tutorial!
Hey can you do a video of how to jump over 4 ft vault?
Will this work if the bar is a feet higher?
Is it possible somewhere to try to do this test pare ? In Canada
There are, we are one them (in Langley, BC). You can also do a Google search and there should be places that show up in the search results.
If you have short legs...does it make a difference?

Does it have to be a jump? Popat. Can legs just go over the bar instead?
