I remember discovering Frightened Rabbit 17 years ago when I was only 13 and going through the beginning of one of the hardest times in my life. And Scott was with me through every single hard time after that (and there were many.) There has never been another songwriter that has stayed with me like Scott. There is no other band that has been at the top of every playlist without fail throughout every phase of my life. FR is so fucking special. Scott was so fucking special. I’ve never cried over losing someone I didn’t know before. I remember my husband coming to me with the article saying they found a body while I was standing at the fridge in our kitchen and I just wept. I felt like I lost someone I knew and someone that knew me. The connection that he created through his lyrics was unreal. And we’re all still here years and years later. I made it through the absolute worst times in my life with his help. I only wish that he could have realized how fucking important he was to so many people. We miss you, Scott.
They always used to close gigs with this. I miss those times, standing in crowds, all of us shouting out "woah wooaah", an electric solidarity. That was our scream. Amazing. Scott Hutchinson. Speak his name.
RIP Scott. While some of your your more melancholy songs have always been a safety net in my darker times, this is how I want to remember you. Defiant, proud and strong. Shine on; you won’t be forgotten.
Scott Hutchison... you will be greatly missed. You've been such an inspiration to so many of your fans, myself included. I'm glad I got to see you in concert at least once in my life.
I think people make the comments for the people they address them to, to let out and show their appreciation for that person whether they can see it or not. And also for others to see how much the man was appreciated.
Can you hear the road from this place? can you hear footsteps? voices? can you see the blood on my sleeve? i have fallen in the forest. did you hear me? in the loneliness? oh, the loneliness and the scream to prove to everyone that i exist in the loneliness oh, the loneliness and the scream to bring the blood to the front of my face again am i here? of course i am, yes all i need is your hand to drag me out again it wasn't me, i didn't dig this ditch i was walking for weeks before i fell in to the loneliness oh, the loneliness and the scream to prove to everyone that i exist in the loneliness oh, the loneliness and the scream to fill a thousand black balloons with air fall down, find god just to lose it again glue the community together we were hammering it fell down, found love but i can to lose it again but now our communal heart it beats miles from here
Oh god, when i first started watching that i wanted to just cry, because it was so depressingly scottish, then it got so uplifting because it was like he found his own feet again. That was lovely. Thank you frightened rabbit!!
So many of Frightened Rabbits lyrics I feel I could write myself. I drink too much. I feel lonely. No one really knows the true me. It's all so hopeless and I always think about taking my own life.
Life is already short enough. Enjoy the ride. Pick up an instrument. Write. Read. You need to love yourself before you can expect anyone else to love you. Stay strong ❤
Frightened Rabbit is part of my soul now. I literally cry when I think of Scott and how we lost him far too soon. I will forever be grateful we'll be able to listen to his monumental talent. Rest well and easy my friend. If I make even the smallest of the tiny changes you made while you were here, I'll leave this rock satisfied.
I have only just been lucky enough to discover this band. A friend was listening and I just loved what I was hearing. And this track in particular, this must've been immense at a live gig. I so wish I had heard of this band when they were flourishing. I simply cannot stop listening. They are awesome, inspiring, fun, sad, joyous, meloncoly, like every emotion you can think of. This is the best band playing the best music I have ever heard. Amazing. Sorry to hear the story of Scott, Rip. You have left an amazing mark on this world in your astounding music. Thank you so much
May you rest in peace. Your work, your music will live on. I only wish I could say the same for you. A mind as bright as yours with the talents you were gifted with...it is deeply sad to know that the world will miss you, and the hurt is felt even further by those who love you. I wish I could have spoken with you prior... If anyone else reads this who is contemplating the way in which the world lost Scott, I urge you not to remain silent and to speak to others. You will always find someone out there who cares. You only have to look around you. Nobody is ever alone, no matter how alone you may feel.
i came here because these dudes are from my hometown and grew up with billy.....amazing band scotts one of the uk's if not the worlds greatest writer about.....
I wish you knew how much this song means to me. It was half of what inspired me to continue photography after I almost lost hope in it. It saved me. My first tattoo is going to be based off this song.
Oh my cheese, when the old dude put on his war outfit and everything it was so cute and I giggled because of so. I love old people so much, they're awesome!
This song and the clip are totally amazing. I don't understand all the lyrics because Iam franch but...whaaaaa. Can't forget it and I will try to make discover this song to french people!!!
I knew a man when I was younger who lived nearby, he was a WW2 veteran as well, he was very lonely. I was young so I couldn't really go over to see him. After watching this immense video (after having the song on my iPod since October) I felt like I should have done something :/ Godspeed and RIP to all war veterans everywhere! x
Now, if anyone has a legit reason to check out it is combat veterans. Same time, unless someone has voices screaming in her head, suicide is a spiritual copout.
This video is not sad. It's a really beautiful expression of life inspite of age. I love this old guy because he has been through it all and he knows what it means to really live. He doesn't need to scream. He is already there. Thanks for Frightened Rabbit for the best music
They closed with this song at the Barrolands show last December. It was the best live song I've ever seen. When I was in the cloakroom getting my jacket everyone there was still clapping shouting ''woooaahhhohhhohhohh''.
Why does it matter where someone heard the song or who heard it first?! Why can't we appreciate that this awesome song has been heard and enjoyed by another set of ears other than our own?
going to be seeing them in august as the open for DC4C. I've never heard of them until now. I am really liking the music. Trying to get all of their albums DL'd so I can sing along!
Since 2003, Scott painted us vivid pictures of what was going on in his head. His stories reach into your chest with claws and grab on. Gently. Scott didn't use invisible ink in life. His words have always hurt with fury and the guitars, sometimes gentle, other times forceful, looped his words around the atmosphere permanently etching themselves in the listeners skin. The question I ask myself 4yrs later is this - Is it hard to listen because in some way it feels as if we are Voyers listening to a tragedy? Perhaps it was not avoidable. Perhaps all the signs were in our headphones. Either way - I’m a Frightened Rabbit like the rest of you, right there walking hand-in-hand with Scott.
i have been a frightened rabbit fan for years!!! and i understand where your thought is coming from, but that doesn't make it right!! because this song was on teen wolf it gives this band more exposure which means they can make more beautiful music like this!! if anyhting tv shows that use artists like this are good for the music business!!!
so I do kinda afraid when I grow old and would in the end die alone in my room without anyone knowing. annnd. this is really a good video for a good song. love u all.
some of biffy clyro's older stuff and twin atlantic's stuff is sort of similar :) Just discovered an american band called We Are Augustines and theyre album is awesome, give it a bash!
If you ever meet someone who knows frightened rabbit, there is this weird bond. You both know you’ve been through some shit

Thank you for beautifully capturing what many of us can’t find the words to say.
They always used to close gigs with this. I miss those times, standing in crowds, all of us shouting out "woah wooaah", an electric solidarity. That was our scream. Amazing.
Scott Hutchinson. Speak his name.
Wish I'd managed to see him in the flesh but I'll still keep singing and spreading his words
Fuck man. I’m missing Scott today. This comment is bringing tears to my eyes right now.
FRabbit is better than Coldplay.
RIP Scott. While some of your your more melancholy songs have always been a safety net in my darker times, this is how I want to remember you. Defiant, proud and strong. Shine on; you won’t be forgotten.
Tiny Changes brother .
I remember this being the first song I listened to after his passing, couldn’t bring myself to listen to Floating in the Forth
FRabbit is better than Coldplay.
Needed this today. Five years without Scott and it hurts. Thank you.
Scott Hutchison... you will be greatly missed. You've been such an inspiration to so many of your fans, myself included. I'm glad I got to see you in concert at least once in my life.
I know I like reading them. Perhaps for themselves, perhaps for others to read and reflect on.
I think people make the comments for the people they address them to, to let out and show their appreciation for that person whether they can see it or not. And also for others to see how much the man was appreciated.
Me too! My best birthday ever was seeing them play live
FRabbit is better than Coldplay.
This is absolutely fantastic. It kills me that we live in a world where barely anybody knows about Frightened Rabbit.
Trueee💯
FRabbit is better than Coldplay.
Define "barely anybody"? "Winter of MIxed Drinks" charted in the Billboard Top 200 (86) and in the Top Ten in the UK.
Can you hear the road from this place?
can you hear footsteps? voices?
can you see the blood on my sleeve?
i have fallen in the forest.
did you hear me?
in the loneliness?
oh, the loneliness
and the scream to prove
to everyone
that i exist
in the loneliness
oh, the loneliness
and the scream to bring
the blood to the front of my face again
am i here? of course i am, yes
all i need is your hand
to drag me out again
it wasn't me,
i didn't dig this ditch
i was walking for weeks
before i fell in
to the loneliness
oh, the loneliness
and the scream to prove
to everyone
that i exist
in the loneliness
oh, the loneliness
and the scream to fill
a thousand black
balloons with air
fall down, find god
just to lose it again
glue the community together
we were hammering it
fell down, found love
but i can to lose it again
but now our communal heart
it beats miles from here
Probably my favorite. "The scream to prove that I exist" hits me every time.
prob the most underwatched video in the history of youtube
If he only knew how much we miss him... If he only knew how many of us he helped... I wish you peace in the next life my friend.
Thanks Scott, for getting me through some of the toughest times in my life. We've got a comunal heart, all of us frightened rabbits.
Oh god, when i first started watching that i wanted to just cry, because it was so depressingly scottish, then it got so uplifting because it was like he found his own feet again. That was lovely. Thank you frightened rabbit!!
FRabbit is better than Coldplay. More British soul.
I keep coming back to this over the last decade .. ty frightened rabbit..rip scott
So many of Frightened Rabbits lyrics I feel I could write myself. I drink too much. I feel lonely. No one really knows the true me. It's all so hopeless and I always think about taking my own life.
You impact more people than you think. You’re needed here. Talk to someone, tell them the true you. You’d be surprised how many people would love that
Life is already short enough. Enjoy the ride. Pick up an instrument. Write. Read. You need to love yourself before you can expect anyone else to love you. Stay strong ❤
Peace, man.

I saw FR live in Southampton yesterday and this was their last song, it was an amazing gig and a great way to finish :D

old people are so precious im crying
I cannot wait to be that old. That man is my hero.
I wish you knew how much this song means to me. It was half of what inspired me to continue photography after I almost lost hope in it. It saved me. My first tattoo is going to be based off this song.
Hey did you ever get that tattoo?
Happy Birthday Scott. Thanks for the Music.
Love this video... Reminds me of my grandad. Its really beautiful.
This video made me sad and happy and sad. Scott, you music was so touching. I hope you know that.
This is a beautiful song. Floors me every time I listen.
This song never gets old!
I honestly couldn't hear the song. The old man had completely caught my attention. I love this!
Oh my cheese, when the old dude put on his war outfit and everything it was so cute and I giggled because of so. I love old people so much, they're awesome!
RIP Scott your at peace now
I can’t listen to this song without breaking down now that Scott is no longer with us. Absolutely gutted.
This song and the clip are totally amazing. I don't understand all the lyrics because Iam franch but...whaaaaa. Can't forget it and I will try to make discover this song to french people!!!
They killed it at Red Rocks! This was their closer and I was screaming along!

I would so ditch my friends from time to time to hang out with this old dude (:

I very much miss shouting “OH WOAH OH” with y’all 🖤
Your music was so touching... RIP Scott 💔
grampa has so many stories to tell!!
Jesus... I was nearly in tears at that video. Perfection.
But let's please celebrate the idea that FR may be getting royalty checks from that bit! They deserve every cent!
Heartbroken I find myself here. We've lost one of the best..
God I still love this song... What a band...
nothing else matters right now, such a great feeling

This made me cry, it's so sad.
Such an underrated band!!
They're one of my favorites now!!
Not underrated, Top 100 on Billboard, Top 10 in the UK. Universally acclaimed, loved by millions. Is world domination a prequisite for acceptance?
@@herbertrichard614 They're definitely an underrated band, and not crazily known.
Why does it matter where someone heard the song or who heard it first?! Why can't we appreciate that this awesome song has been heard and enjoyed by another set of ears other than our own?
RIP Scott
going to be seeing them in august as the open for DC4C. I've never heard of them until now. I am really liking the music. Trying to get all of their albums DL'd so I can sing along!
quite simply my favorite video ever, adds so much to an allready amazing video...

I love playing and singing your songs in my basement while my heart screams it’s not fair.
What is not fair? Scott ended his life. That is his choice and thereby perfectly fair.
@@herbertrichard614 why of all the music do you choose frightened rabbit videos to troll in the comments to? youre a horrible person fuck you
