- Frightened Rabbit's Scott Hutchison performs an acoustic version of 'Good Arms vs Bad Arms' to mark the 10th anniversary of the band's seminal second album, 'The Midnight Organ Fight'. Filmed at the Northampton Square bandstand, London on Saturday, March 10. Rest easy Scott.
I still listen to Scott every day and continue to miss him every day
I miss him too and listening to this is just heaven...
me too.
Me too. It's been 6 years and it still hurts just as much.
Live long enough and you are bound to experience some kind of shit in your life. Pain, in whatever form, is probably the only universal thing that binds us all together.
I only just discovered this man's music recently. He was so damn good at describing the human condition in his lyrics. And pain is written all over his face.
Just wish I could hug the man. Thank him for his music.
How will we never see him again
Released the same month he passed. Breaks my heart watching these performances, you can just see it in him. What an absolute legend you are Scott ❤️
🙌Scott😪
You can see by the look on his face that he’s not alright in my opinion… What a hell of a gift he left us all though with his beautiful music, he’ll live forever
❤ my new favourite artist
✌️🇦🇺💚🙃
I still can’t believe he’s gone.. the music world has lost another great one.
I wish I had more to say.
Some of the luckiest people I’ve ever seen to be graced with this performance. Such a loss. Rest easy indeed.
I stopped listening for a year because it was just too heartbreakring but once again frightened rabbit is all I listen too and it's great to see these old busking videos. Till the day I die frightened rabbit ♡♡♡
🙌💙
I love the videos of this session. I've watched them each like ten times since he passed, and they've done a lot for me. I think because it's just him unplugged, solo, playing old songs he's great at playing and with just enough heart and flourish.
You say old songs and that feels shite. So many of songs are brilliant. If get out, death dreams, woodpile and so many more can't put you there then fuck you wi yer "old songs".
@@stuartgardner7179 Really? You had to go there and be a dick? Really?
Really?
@@stuartgardner7179 On a dead man's music whom you're supposed to be a fan of. Smh.
@@sithspitdanikan4725 It's the point of old songs. No need to say it, as if the new didn't matter. "I'm supposed to be a fan of" Like shhhhh. How does anything I've said not make me a fan? 2 celebrity deaths have hurt me. Simply 2. As you like repeating yourself. Rick Mayall and Scott. Go look at Floating in the Forth and see who has the top comment. There is no old songs. there is Frightened Rabbit songs. I will express my opinion, and I will explain that opinion. Every single one of us is messed up. I maybe shouldn't of said certain things, but I said what I said. Like "on a dead man's music" seriously bolt. Trying to use some guilt trip in RUclips comments. Have a problem with my comment, but it has nothing to do with his death. Sanctimonious arsehole.
@@stuartgardner7179 You're the one who said "fuck you" to the goddamn person just making a comment. I'll extend the favor and say, loud and clear, "fuck you".
That was the best thing I've ever watched
So love this kid. Crushed he’s gone but so thankful for what he left behind.
will never stop listening to this beautiful soul.
His musicianship is incredible, sounds like the a full band at parts
Heartbreaking, it's visible to see the mental weight he was carrying at this stage of his life. Thank you Scott and your music will continue to touch many people's lives as the years roll on x
Missing you and your voice dearly Scott.
These performances still gets me, to hear the struggle in his voice. It’s so raw and his playing really is better than when I saw them live. He was so so good.
One word. Pure.
Miss you Scott,. I wish I got to know you better when we we were neighbours,
I miss you so much scott
We miss you, Scott.
Talent. Scott's parents were my neighbours for a short time, wish I had met him
One of favs class! Damn I miss this man.

God. It still hurts.
one of favourite songs of all time, fuck man xx
What a magnificent artist, purely amazing. Thanks for being so awesome bud.
Damn it, Scott.
Aye!
In the presence of genius
I wish he could have known how he made me feel okay to be me
Such a loss
Great artist, misunderstood.
Willing to pay $10 to someone who can post a tutorial vid or the correct tabs including all hammer ons / pull offs... surprised no one has done it correctly yet
I don’t play the guitar so I’m not sure if this is what you are looking for, but the person in this video has his left hand visible on the neck of the guitar the entire time:

I also don’t know if he’s playing the correct chords.
But I’ve seen other videos of Scott Hutchinson playing solo where he seems to do slightly different versions of his songs, possibly a bit simplified from the album versions. For example I’ve seen some live versions of “get out“ that seem to be a bit different, even taking into account the fact that there is only going to be one guitar as opposed to one person playing rhythm and one other person playing lead.
This is one acoustic version of “get out” that seems simplified from the studio version with the full band, with most of the chords seeming to be in a relatively narrow area on the fretboard:

While in this live version with the full band, he seems to move his hand to a greater number of positions on the fretboard:

(Disclaimer: I’m an old horn player who dabbled a tiny bit in piano, and “don’t know from” guitars....)
Did you figure it out or is that still an offer?
Asking because I really should make a tutorial for this at some point.. I have been meaning to, it's just daunting. It is a very complicated song.. Typical of Scott to make something so complex into something easy. Took a long time to figure out how to play it right. As you said, even the best tabs and covers on RUclips are so, so far from correct. No one is even close. Heck, only a few even get the right backbone chords, which is sad because at least those should be very easy to identify (capo 3rd, use G, C, and E shapes).
