    I have a question: should I remove the lubricant that comes with the new chain and apply the one I'm used to using?

    • @jblbassslayer3108
      @jblbassslayer3108 Год назад +3

      yes you should, that lubricant is very sticky and it attracts some nasty stuff, clean it off the outside of the chain and if it remains on the insides it's alright, but the outside must be cleaned in order not to get the chain dirty the second you ride the bike

    • @NiceBikeService
      @NiceBikeService  Год назад +1

      it's actually a good lubricant.
      but it's a matter of taste.

    • @NiceBikeService
      @NiceBikeService  Год назад +2

      It all depends on how the cyclist feels about their bike.
      Many users ride 3000 km and never lubricate the chain or wash the cassette))).

    Fajny pomysł z folią na manetkach. Polecałbym szczotkę nylonową zamiast drucianej, nawet na stalowe tarcze. Nie chcę nawet myśleć, co to robi z aluminium. Są takie szczotki na trzpieniach do wiertarki, ale preferuję motocyklowe do czyszczenia łańcuchów ( przed szejkowaniem oczywiście ), bo sięgają nieźle między ogniwa. Filmik pokazuje, że dobrze się samemu nauczyć dbania o własny rower, niż brać udział w mniej lub bardziej kosztownej loterii powierzania go mniej lub bardziej fachowemu serwisowi.

    using a metal wire brush attachment on a drill to clean the cassette cogs is stripping off the plating on the cogs = it will now rust

    • @martynasjuravicius678

      i never used metal brush with power drill to clean a bike , to thorough clean a cassette , particularly a shimano hg , it is mush easier to uninstall the rear wheel and uninstall the cassette from the rear hub , also for the chainring i suggest uninstall the crank drive side , it is much easier to clean

    how many miles/km should a chain be replaced?

    • @NiceBikeService
      @NiceBikeService  7 месяцев назад +1

      It is advisable to change the chain before 2000 km. Ideally, you should have 3 chains and change them every 300-500 km in turn 1-2-3, 1-2-3, etc.

      Łańcuch powinien zostać wymieniony, gdy jego rozciągnięcie nie przekracza 0,75% jego długości, dlatego potrzebny jest miernik zużycia łańcucha. Idealnie będzie mieć 3 łańcuchy na raz i wymieniać je w kółko co 300-500 km (pierwszy zakładamy po trzecim i tak po kolei), dzięki czemu przekładnia wytrzyma znacznie dłużej

    I assume you did. Grease the pully bushing they definitely last alot longer. I do that with just about any service. Grease for sure ...liquids don't work.. also the fixed chain guage works better as soon as you can push 0.75 through a some force its time to change and most of the time the cogs are still fine.I read the stamping machine marks on the teeth if there are traces still visible especially the smaller cogs your usually good. Yeah I don't like to have to change the cog set if it's not necessary. And I don't like being wrong and having to replace after test riding either...got good at predicting.

    • @stevengagnon4777
      @stevengagnon4777 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@NiceBikeServiceyeah....that drop in (go-no go) chain check guage is really in expensive ( compared to new cassettes and chain rings) and should be something every bicycle owner has at home. It's simple to use and gives positive results. If you replace the chain soon enough one can do that many times before needing a new cassette and chain rings last even longer. Once the chain gets around 0.75 % on the guage the ware on the cassette and chain rings started to become exponential. I prefer to replace when it drops in at 0.50 % on its own and certainly when I can push it in at 0.75 % with some force. That's usually good if the person is actually using most of the gears...not much you can do if they drop it on to the 11 or 13 and leave it there all the time though. I do enjoy writing these comments...thanks and God Bless You All.

    Ach ja een quick en dirty oplossing voor de gemiddelde fiets, prima. Een staalborstel op een accuboor gebruiken kan best, die Alivio schakelgroup kost toch geen drol om later te vervangen. Ik hoop dat je dit niet doet bij een Deore XT of hoger schakelgroep, want dan word het wel prijzig voor de klant.

    • @NiceBikeService

      If you set the chain to the smallest ring at the front and rear, the chain should be slightly taut, and the rear derailleur foot should spring it slightly. If the chain is slack, shorten it slightly. Look for diagrams on the Internet, the pictures will be more understandable

    • @NiceBikeService

      The bike owner did not want to clean the entire drivetrain. The current chain wear allows a new chain to be put on the old cassette. A long piece of housing near the rear derailleur additionally springs it, which makes it easier to change gears, but this works on budget derailleurs with a weak spring

      Tak to wyglądało na motocyklu, więc to pokazali. Nowy łańcuch został zamontowany prawidłowo

    A po co ta trytka na pancerz ?? Ponadto należy zdjąć przerzutkę tylną wyjąć sprężynę naciągową wyczyścić i nasmarować - syf w tym miejscu jest powodem że ona tak słabo pracuje. Ale napęd w zadziwiająco dobrym stanie jak na tak rozciągnięty łańcuch.

      Wydaje mi się, że łańcuch był już wcześniej zmieniany.

    와.. 스프라켓 체인링 다 갈려나가겠네요;; 저렇게 청소하면 절대 안됩니다.. 대충해도 디그리셔로 청소해야하고, 가장 좋은건 세제에 담가 분해세척하는 것입니다. 솔은 칫솔정도면 충분하죠. 저 철로 밀러버리면 마일리지 다 깍아먹겠네요.. 만약 돈받고 세척하신 거라면, 적어도 스프라켓은 빼서 디그리셔에 담가 청소하시는 편이 나았을텐데요...

    Jakiś matoł źle założył łańcuch. Żeby dobrze wyczyścić np. kasetę należy ją zdemontować. Jak ja czyszczę układ napędowy to ściągam wszystko: łańcuch, kasetę i korbę, a w przypadku szosy to nawet korbę rozbieram bo tam się da, a taką standardową nie rozbierzesz, bo się fizycznie nie da.
