I remember renting Hey You, Pikachu! when I was a little kid, but it wasn't until I was partway through the game that I realized that there wasn't a microphone built into the console and I was shouting at the screen for nothing. Since it was a rental, I didn't know until I googled it that the game was supposed to come with a microphone and the rental place just never gave it to me. That was one of the most frustrating video game experiences of my life.
I just realized that Pokémon Battle Revolution was supposed to have a mention in this video, how could I forget? It was pretty visually, but it had less features than any other of the "Stadium" games.
I had that PC game with the horrifying animation. It was fun to play! And I didn't remember the animation, so either it never bothered me as a kid or I repressed the nightmares.
Long after I gave up on Hey You Pikachu, my little sister picked up the game and found items and awards that weren’t listed in any GameFAQs walkthrough. There’s so much in that game that no normal person would ever find.
Oh, I just adored Pokémon Channel as a kid, I spent hours playing it with my brother. We didn’t really focus much on the TV, we liked taking the bus to explore and redecorating the room 💕
+Dave Strider Same here. Other than being forced to watch the Pichu Bros, I loved unlocking the cards for taking quizzes and buying things on the shop channel. Any game with lots of unlocks like that I find myself enjoying.
I got a kick out of Pokemon Channel when I was younger, but then again I'm pretty easily entertained (seriously, watching Pikachu dance along to the workout channel was hysterical for me). Although if I ever played again now, I would probably get tired of it fast. I liked how it had emulations of some Pokemon Mini games in it that you could unlock.
I loved Pokemon Channel when I last played it, but I still agree with you on everything. It's a piece of shit by video game standards. The whole thing is like that one meme: "So I heard you liked watching TV, so I put a TV in your video game so you can watch TV on a TV in your TV"
true, i sure did like pokemon channel as a kid. i would try to skip some waiting times when watching one channel by switching to another one and back, then repeat that many times. but if i were to play it again now, i would probably stop after the first 10 minutes
I know this video is old but man, when I was a kid, Pikachu's Goodbye had me bawling my eyes out. I'm nearly 28 now. Just thinking about it still gives me the feels.
Dude I also watched that episode when I was younger, I went back and rewatched it on the Pokemon website a couple weeks ago and I still had to hold back tears lmao
It's not the moment when Ash leaves Pikachu that makes me cry, it's the moment Pikachu appears at the top of the hill. Even typing this out I can feel tears in my eyes
I actually really hate pokemon XY. It's the only set of main series games where I have just refused to finish it (got to victory road) because it's just ridiculously boring. I don't think I ever lost a single battle, there was no need to grind at all. I like pokemon games to have a strong challenge tied to them. I don't believe a game can ever be too difficult under any circumstances, but a game can definitely be too easy to just make me forget about it.
Reason X&Y is so easy is because they focused more on the multiplayer of the game instead of there usually grind and story driven idea and also they wanted to make it more appealing for people who are new to playing pokemon games and thats also why the exp share covers everything in your team since they wanted to make it easier for newer players to grind
I hated X and Y too, not just for the horribly broken Exp Share, but for the fact that they were a huge step backwards in mentality from Gen 5. Gen 5 aimed to be a fresh start for the series, and for that it succeeded: the series desparately needed one. Gen 6 on the other hand, has a very clear theme of "in with the old, out with the new". Only 69 new Pokemon, the fewest of any generation, and most of them don't have much presence in the game: old Pokemon dominate on every route. It's like they were overly paranoid of pissing off the Genwunners. The characters were pretty boring too, ESPECIALLY the gym leaders. But no main series Pokeemon game can ever be considered a bad game. All are amazing by most standards. Some just pale within the standards of the series, but they're still good games.
A lot of people have nostalgia for the first games, but I have it for gen 4 and 5. Pokémon black was my first DS game (I did get Pokémon Yellow, which I liked, but it wasn't as fun) and I always wanted the gen 4 games (which I never got, if they make a remake that would be amazing though).
The Confident Gamer well, technically, I had Pokémon Pearl and even got all eight badges and I played it a lot, but a few years ago I lost the game and still cant find it
***** the games have gotten better with time, personally i have a soft spot for the gold, silver, crystal games since while it's not the first pokemon game i played it was the one i played the most.
Dude, same here. Diamond was my first game EVER. Black sort of revitalized Pokémon for me, after not being a big fan of HG/SS. Just turning on one of my Gen V games to transfer my Pokémon to ORAS hit me with so many feels.
My favorite Pokemon game is Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. Yes, *even more than the main series games!* The story was beyond amazing, and the music... OH MY GOD, THE MUSIC. Walking into Treasure Town after a failed mission always brought your spirits back up! To this day, the Treasure Town theme remains my favorite Pokemon theme, it brings back the most nostalgia.
the Mystery Dungeon: Explorers (mine being Darkness) were awesome games the thing i liked most. The Story,i'm not going to spoil it here but all i will say is, DAT ENDING!!!!
I never played Explorers of Sky with sound, and I would save my game before heading out so that I could try again if failed. Maybe a bit a shortcutting, I suppose...
I spent many hours with Pokemon Channel, i just loved being able to have Pika as a somewhat pet/buddy. When i got the game i was not totally aware of Hey You Pikachu even existing but it's a fun little timewaster game, maybe getting it for pretty cheap was part of the reason i enjoyed it...
I think that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity was horrible. Not because it was a bad game overall, but because it did so many things differently from the others that it is weird. That being said, I think it would be great for introducing new players to the series! I just think that it is not good for old players. Why I think this: 1. The story is simplistic, extremely pushy and gives you little chance to just go explore for levels (Not that you need to anyway) or materials for the "Pokemon Paradise", and the post story is one level and a choice that either does something or forces you to do the level again. Plus, there is no reason for you to be unevolved unlike the other games. 2. The "Pokemon Paradise" is silly and you will never use it to do anything that is not getting things from garden things. Plus, it doesn't really introduce you to the secondary or tertiary materials until you are done. 3. The battle system is better and removes hunger! But after the game is done a ton of places with hunger activated open and there are no items that just do hunger this time. 4. You cannot befriend legendaries (Beside Virizion, Cobalion, and Terrakion) and the Pokemon are not all of them (meaning not all of the Pokemon are in the game, sorry for the weird wording). Other than that, it is a good game. It looks great, the ideas are pretty good, and most things are okay.
JRPGPirate I said besides those three. Yes, you can get her, but she makes everything easy and it makes it not enjoyable... I wish they had put her at the end.
I never played GTI; however, I did play the two previous entries and loved them to death. I'm not very interested in the new entries in the series for now but from what I've heard from fans, definitely GTI is the first game you want to start if playing the Mystery Dungeon series for the first time.
JRPGPirate Yeah. It's quite disappointing. But choosing your partner as Axew makes the final boss even easier because one Dual Chop kills him. That being said, I don't consider the thing at the end a final boss... I consider it a joke.
None of the main series pokemon games are on the list commentors and RIGHTLY so. Gen 1 was unbalanced and simple but that was it's charm (also Kanto is the only non-linear region in the franchise[though this also boils over into the remakes]), gen 2 had the worst gym leader personalities but fixed everything that hindered gen 1 competitively, gen 3 committed the sin of eliminating even a shred of backwards compatibility but counting Colosseum and XD had the most games to play and incorporated the highly strategic double battles, Gen 4 was slower but added a great new addition in the attack-type-split and a pokemon theology, gen 5 had a few really questionable designs for pokemon but objectively had the most philosophical story as well as speeding up a lot of the things that slowed down gen 4, gen 6 balanced the dragon type and looked great but a lot of things where simplified to include the more casual gamer resulting in a bit more hand holding and an easier game. No game is objectively perfect but all of the pokemon games are at least objectionably good. Can we just drop our biased shades for a bit and at least agree that pokemon is awesome?
I thought gen 2 gym leaders had personality, Falkner was a lover for bird Pokemon with pride from his father Bugsy is just a young boy who enjoys bugs Whitney is just by arceus THE WORST! Morty was a prideful ghost leader who wanted to be the one to awaken HO OH back. Chuck is a guy who likes to train....under a waterfall.....yeah. Jasmine is a girl with a big steel heart up who cares for Pokemon. Pryce is a intelligent old man who enjoys the simple things in life and Claire is a arrogant girl who learns from mistakes and just bring power.....and Whitney's just the worse fools u with charm and can't stand losing AHHHHH f**k HER MILKTANK!!!!
Does Pokemon Ranch still work? I remember I used to play the hell outta that game and mess around to the point of visiting other ranches and racking up rare pogehmwans. I also remember always forcing my pokemon to play with toys and making tornadoes and launching them and dragging them to the end of the map. _and then call them and make them walk their asses back so I can throw them away again_ and then they made Pokemon Rumble, which I only had the demo and got the second game for the 3DS.
My Pokemon Ranch does still work, actually, as far as I know. The Pokemon Company never released the update for the game in the US, though, so you're only able to transfer from Diamond and Pearl.
Yep... In fact, crazy thing, you can still use it if you transfered your software on the Wii U... And it also works if you use a 3DS to transfer your Pokemon from Diamond & Pearl. I dunno, I find it crazy that I can succesfully interact between the two game, even though I use two console that were not build for that.
I can't be the only one to like Pokemon Channel as a kid, right? It was a nice break from all the crazy battling you do in the main series. Even if you didn't like it, we can all agree that it's leagues better than that of Hey You! Pikachu. :P
I do not usually comment on these... But I thought I would give it a shot. The 5th generation was not one of my favorite gens. In my opinion, Gamefreak and Nintendo really started to pull away from the norm... Some of the new sprites, looked like edits of old sprites, Bouffalant looks like Tauros. Krookodile reminds me of Feraligator, Emolga looks like a Pachirisu with wings, and Beartic reminds me of Ursaring. Then came generation 6. WTF. I absolutely hate the 6th generation. Their so called Pokémon, don't look like Pokémon anymore. I only like Diancie and Yveltal. Other that that 6th generation Pokémon look like real life animals.
Yumi Higorashi "Pokemon look like real life animals." Gens 1, 2, 3, 4, AND 5 also had real life animals as Pokemon. Your argument for Gen 6 is invalid.
People complaining about OR AS and x and you being too easy face it EVERY POKEMON GAME WAS EASY here's a way to make it harder do a nuzlocke challenge and turn off experience share aka experience all from pokemon red blue yellow fire red and leaf green carried over to x and y
And it isn't about the difficulty it's about fun factor just because you didn't need to grind didn't mean it was bad it meant you didn't have to do the worst thing in rpg history
The only real a little bit hard pokemon game was D/P , just because Rapidash was the only good fire pokemon you could get until E4, good think they fixed it in Platinum, otherwise gen 4 would've been a total disaster
joão pedro lima leal actually you could just get a star apt or and have the same effect and no it was not hard not even Cynthia she was a total push over
As others in the comments have said, Black and White (and their direct sequels) were just... underwhelming, IMO. My personal favorite game in the series, though, is probably Pokemon X or Y. People criticize the story when compared to the "deep, thought provoking" one from Black and White (lawl, really? What's so deep about Ghetsis manipulating people to release their Pokemon so that he can take over the world? >.>), but honestly, Pokemon games are played not for the story, but for the experience. And seriously, Pokemon X has brought me the best individual experience since GENERATION THREE.
I agree with you. The plot for Black and White and its sequels were weak. Fortunately, it makes up for that in amazing gameplay and immense amounts of fun, especially in BW2 :D
TheAlmightyPiplup Please, Gen5's plot was a lot deeper than that. It's a lot of back story. It's ironic that the games you're saying are better than gen 5 are the ones with the weakest plots. I feel like people don't give gen5 enough credit. B/W were innovated, and they were great! They gave the series that fresh feel.
The only thing that i didn't liked in Gen V was the story, i found it to be extremely bland, boring and uninteresting, i pretty much hate every single character in BW and the one i hate the most is: Ghetsis. Ghetsis is so bland, generic, poorly written and one dimensional that it still baffles me to this day why some people say he is a good villain. While every other Pokemon villain had some rather ridiculous motivations to do what they were trying to do, Ghetsis has no motivation to do what he's trying to do or he never explains it. I haven't played White in a while and i tried to find some quotes but he never seem to say why he wants to conquer Unova, is he doing it out of revenge? Did he woke up one day and said to himself "I'm going to be evil from now on and come up with this convoluted plan that involves a kid found in a forest and form a team of PETA hypocrites to try to conquer Unova for no reason"? This is one of my personal pet peeves, when the villain doesn't tell you why he wants to do what's he trying to do, i know it's a cliché the villain explaining his plan and telling why he wants to do, but i always like clarification. And it's because of him that the story completely collapses at the end, i thought i was going to have a choice at the end or something different, but Ghetsis's "I want to conquer the world because i'm evil" (which is the most generic plan in fiction) pratically ruined the story for me to the point i was spamming A just to get over with it. Ghetsis just feels like an afterthought, it's like GF finished writing the story and noticed that they didn't had a proper villain, so they made a guy in a robe, with a burned arm and a Saiyan Scouter. And the thing that breaks my heart is that Hydreigon, a pokemon that i love, is going to be forever associated with this crap character. I'll take Gen 3 and 4 story over 5 any day.
I personally hated gen 6. The story was pretty weak (the super weapon blows itself up and then is never talked about again..?), and just, the lack of anything to do after you beat the game is sad. The Elite Four don't even increase in level.
Black/White 2: the most hardcore Pokemon games to date. X/Y: the most casual to date. B/W2 have some of the most worthwhile and legitimately challenging post-story content I've seen in the series, including the ability to make a 2nd playthrough of the game harder. X/Y has the least challenging Storyline to date, and barely any real post-story content other than grinding the chateau up and the normal BP place. throughout the entirety of X/Y there's what, 3-4 trainers before you finish the main story that even have 6 pokemon? and i'm fairly sure one of them is the magikarp guy. for like... the first time in the series, the main legendaries are shiny locked for no apparent reason, and due to the lack of the elite 4/etc. having megas, you can easily just go through the entire game with a single mega that's not even overleveled. (bar maybe 2 fights. Team flare's leader and the Champion.) say what you will, X/Y added some incredibly good new features to the series, but otherwise the game really didn't have enough content compared to uh... literally every other main pokemon game since gen 2. (gen 1 really didn't have that much content but... it was gen 1.)
My least favorite Pokemon game that I have played is PMD: Gate to Infinity. It was the most lackluster, rushed piece of merchandise that I have ever played of the series, and was a very big let down. Especially how Spike Chunsoft removed the gender option from all other regions save for Japan. The dungeons were very short, there were very few of them, you could only do one mission at a time, an almost non-existent post story, an insanely slow, unchangable and unskippable story text, and the DLC was just garbage. For 2-3 bucks, you got a specialized dungeon. No story additions, nothing of any real interest. Explorers of Sky, you could feel how much love and effort was poured into it. WIth Gate to Inifinity, everything just screams cash grab with minimalist effort.
Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, my favorite Pokemon game. Yes, even more than the main series games! The story was beyond amazing, and the music... OH MY GOD, THE MUSIC. Walking into Treasure Town after a failed mission always brought your spirits back up! To this day, the Treasure Town theme remains my favorite Pokemon theme, it brings back the most nostalgia.
Don't get me wrong, it in and of itself was a decent game. The problem lies in all of the things that make it a downgraded and rushed experience when you compare it to its predecessors. It could have been a much better game if they didn't take away the major things that made the previous ones so enjoyable.
I can't stand Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. It took everything I enjoyed about the other mystery dungeon games and threw it out the window. The story was simply and uninteresting, the characters felt extremely bland, and, of corse, the lovely fact that they removed the ability to do multiple missions in the same dungeon. These just made the overall experience just boring
***** Because it was garbage! Also another reason I didn't like To Infinity was that every transaction had 10 boxes of dialogue. Why would they do that?
GtI wasn't a bad game. It was pretty decent. The reason most people don't like it is because it sucks compared to the masterpieces that were the other 2 mystery dungeon games.
May I ask where you got the Espurr plush from? ESPURR IS EVERYTHING. ESPURR CAN CONTROL SPACE AND TIME, LOVE AND DEATH!!! ESPURR CAN SEE INTO YOUR MIND!! ESPURR CAN SEE INTO YOUR SOOOOUUUL...
Just wanted to say before I watch this... If Pokémon Channel is on this list, I will rage. It was one of my favorite Pokémon games when I was about 4 and it's still a fun game to this day. I know Pokémon Channel doesn't have amazing gameplay, graphics, or even that much depth. But the same could be said about Gen 1 Pokémon, and it's still one of my favorite generations. I shall now click the play button.
I'll never see the hate for the Gen 5 Pokemon. Seriously, the majority of them were actually great, and all I see out of the haters is repeating the same damn Pokemon over and over: "Gen 5 Pokemon suck, garbage and ice cream Pokemon" "Gen 5 had the worst roster in the entire series, garbage and ice cream Pokemon" "garbage and ice cream Pokemon" "garbage and ice cream Pokemon" Hey, y'know what else Gen 5 had? a 3-headed dragon a fire moth a dinosaur with tusks in the shape of battle axes an iron-clawed mole a FUCKING GHOST ROBOT THAT CAN FLY I'm sorry, I can respect all the hate Gen 5 gets on other aspects, but not the roster. Gen 5 Pokemon were awesome.
I agree, there is nothing wrong with Gen 5 Pokemon. And all the other Gens had horrible designs too, as some prime examples, Shroomish, Solrock, Lunatone and the worst one of all time, Glalie.
Because some people or anime fans would go crazy calling it racist, so people would pronounce it differently so they changed I like this name misty fits her personality. Kasumi might just be misty in japanese u never know
One of the most forgotten but my favorite Pokémon games was Pokémon conquest. It had a really unique story and fun gameplay. I wish it had more recognition for being such a creative game.
I respect your opinions and the facts you had supporting them. I personally loved hey you pikachu, though it might just be a nostalgia thing. I also loved Pokemon channel. I didn't like watching most of the Channels. I just liked shopping for all the dolls and the pokedex questions.
Holy crap! A pokemon vid about bad pokemon games and Battle Revolution wasn't on it?! Finally! I'm am getting sick of the hatred towards the game! What did it do wrong, exactly? "The online sucks!" ...So? So did Smash Bros. Brawl, and tons of people love that game. I seriously want to know why BR gets hated on so much.
Princess Celestia Simple. The whole game's just focused on battling, and that's it. And before you use Pokemon Stadium and say that the game's also just battling; keep in mind that Stadium had other events such as minigames and others that BR doesn't have.
JRPGPirate Let me reply with a question; isn't the whole pokemon franchise focused on battling? I know that some games like to add mini games and some other bells and whistles, but the pokemon series is mainly focused on battling. But then again, BR did have less features than past 3D pokemon games, so I can see why it would be inferior. But labeled one of the worst? Yeah...sorry, but no. But, hey, if you don't like it, then that's totally fine, now that I know some more legitimate reasons as to why it's hated.
i actually really enjoyed battle revolution, if I still had it I would totally play it. The only issue I had was that it was basically a new stadium game, but it didn't have any mini games
JWittz has said that he actually meant to mention Battle Revolution in this video, but just forgot. His reason was "It was pretty visually, but it had less features than any other of the "Stadium" games. "
xXeliteninja12Xx Fanfictions can be good, sometimes. I mean, when you aren't wading through piles of sex fics with no story. There are some truly talented writers out there.
Pokemon Rumble World is MUCH better. And you don't technically have to pay for it, although... You really should. But you can play a large amount of it without paying, to the point where you'll know if you think its worth the cost. It looks nice, has more stuff, has actual levels... you know, a good game. Not a game for everyone, but yeah.
***** Not...really. As I said in my comment, Black and White were EASILY slower. Platinum is my favorite in the whole series. It contains a decent story, it's more challenging, it looks great and sounds great, has an actual postgame (I'm looking at YOU, X and Y), and is overall very fun.
I prefer Platinum and even then i thought they were good games but a little bland compared to the others. Like gen 1 was revolutionary, gen 2 and 3 were masterpieces, gen 4 happened, gen 5 was disappointing, and gen 6 is fantastic.
For me, BW was the best. Story: 10/10 , you have ''2 rivals/friends''. Cheren was searching for strenght, while Bianca traveling, meeting the world. You battle N, like a rival. The climax is after beating the Elite Four, by battling the king, and ghetsis with his hacked Hydreigon. Team Plasma/N weren't with bad intentions. Mechanics: Animated Sprites were f*cking good. It gives the pokemon ''life'' The worst game for me was Red/Blue. Ugh *Not saying that FR/LG were shit*
GordonRamsay First off, generic stereotypical brony hater just assumes that every brony is a 40-year old neck beard. Secondly, have you tried watching the show? No? Oh my, are you ignorant. Lastly, "Memearrows" don't have to be restricted to 4chan or whatever. People use "hashtags" on Facebook and Snapchat and just about everything when it belongs on Twitter/Vine. So, you can't make a valid argument if you know nothing about people or the internet
I've never played Pokemon Dash or Hey You Pikachu. I did however play Pokemon Channel when I was 8 or 9. I didn't particularly enjoy it, but I do have fond memories of playing that game with my sister (even though it *was* more like watching tv). The only reason why I would buy or play that game again is if my niece wanted it. Anywho, another game/series that I think should've been included on this list is Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs. To be honest though, I don't even remember if that was made by the same company or if it was a joint/duo company project. If I had the game and/or box I'd check, but I sold it. xD
LordofFullmetal It wasn't that "talking Pokemon" was the joke, it was the symbol that fades to the clock in that part of the video. The symbol looks like the Flamel on Ed's coat, Al's arm, the series' logo, etc. The snake and winged cross.
LoL when I had Hey You Pikachu at the age of 7, I had no problems with it. I didn't really beat the game though til 2008 since my second oldest sister had my Nintendo 64. Also everytime I said electric 3 times Pikachu would get mad. Pikachu also got mad when I said, "Big ass, come over here." in Spanish, but I think that just a random thing. xD
Finally! Someone that enjoys Hey You Pikachu for what it's worth! I actually figured out the commands for when I was 8 TBH, and I personally like the AI of Pikachu and the fact that you're speaking towards pikachu with simple commands. It really feels like you're caring for a pet to me. The only thing I really grow bored of is the levels of where pikachu is suddenly gone with your pokehelper and you'll have to call him back with the megaphone. The shopping game is okay to me. You can actually still talk to pikachu with the megaphone but pikachu will only become puzzled. What you're really supposed to do is try and stop pikachu from getting distracted. Also some other fun things you can do is throwing objects at the water or over the fences of the frontyard then watch them get slung by a poliwag or a diglett. Also you can talk to other pokemon with the megaphone. Though, they'll either ignore you or you'll scare them away. You can also push objects around with the megaphone by hitting them with your voice bubbles. Heck I think you can even knock stuff out of trees that way too.
Honestly? Fifth and fourth gen were my favorites. Here's why, before my reply bell is filled with genwunners. Fifth was one of my favorites because, unlike other Pokemon games, you had to wait until you beat the super-hard (they were a big challenge legit for me) to explore the other half of the region, whereas in games like Hoenn you can basically go everywhere, takeaway the Sky Pillar, which is reserved for the E4 as well. Plus, once you beat the Elite Four, N, Ghetsis (Hydreigon D:) you got a really good ending song, and Pokemon from past gens, Cynthia, waterfall, dive, etc. I also really liked the Pokemon, and their designs, take away Trubbish and Garbodor. I don't hate them, and I've used them before, but to me, they're ugly. But that doesn't mean they aren't decent poison types. I LOVED, loved loved, the Pokemon. Sandile, Darumaka, Kevin Durant, Purrloin, the two different leaf types, the starters, Reshiram, Zekrom, the rest of the legends, and even Patrat. Fourth gen was one of my faves because it was my second game. I had Pearl, my brother, Diamond. I liked it because of the new Pokemon and the Pokemon from past gens available earlier and the gyms and the animations and the colors and this and that. Not so much a fan of the story, but I do like the locations and legends, too.
I remember loving Hey You Pikachu and I actually was able to win as a kid XD but pikachu was my favorite pokemon so I probably just ignored the bad gameplay and won through sheer perseverance
Since we're all trash talking each other's favourite pokemon games here: I actually hate the Mystery Dungeon series, well, the gameplay part of it. It's too boring, too tedious, and not being able to evolve is stupid. I'm sure the story is great, but I could never get past the second dungeon of any game in the series because I was too bored by the gameplay. Also Gen I is unbalanced and it looks like shit and it's the worst generation ever.
Even though I do like the very idea of mystery dungeon... It is true that the gameplay it self is boring... and even when I was a kid I found it stupid that I could not evolve... like for fucks sake my cubone is level 46! And I personaly did not like the restriction on what pokemon you get to play as... Its kinda stupid actualy. Bt hew culd u sei dat abut gen 1? ITS LIK TE BEST, MUST BALANED GAM EVA!!! But I do agree on that part a LOT. The game was unbalanced as shit with the only good counter for psychic types being gengar... and even gengar was a shit counter for it, BECOUSE SOMEONE DECIDED IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO GIVE GENGAR POISON TYPING, WHEN THEY ALREADY GAVE EVERY FUCKING POKEMON POISON TYPING! Plus it also had the most *boring* designs (note "boring")... and the laziest...
You can actually evolve in Mystery Dungeon, but I will agree that it can be repetitive and tedious. You can't even evolve until you've truly beaten the massive story mode. (Still my favourite Pokemon game.) XD
I have Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue, and the rules to evolve are the same as in the main story games (Emerald, Black, X, etc.) Once you're high enough in level or have the item you need, you can evolve if you just talk to this magical rock thing.
I personally loved pokemon dash. My favorite part was the dongle system where you could play on sprites of your pokemon teams, I just wish that the main game had much more accurate and large maps on the top screen, then you could actually plan out your path. I also have a lot of love for pokemon channel, simply for the fact that i was young when I played it, and I loved the small anime specials
Speaking of awful Pokémon games here is a list of my most hated ones: Pokémon Channel: Pretty much the same reason you brought up, it's fucking boring. Nothing interesting to do really. Pokémon Pinball Ruby/Sapphire: Pinball and Pokémon doesn't mix very well in my opinion. I don't mind regular pinball I just don't see how it goes well with Pokémon. Pokémon Yellow: Two main reasons are the fact that I can't even evolve the Pikachu and most of the gym leaders got dumbed down. Erica has Weepinbell and Gloom instead of Victreebel and Vileplume and Lt. Surge only has Raichu? Really? And no, making them higher level doesn't change the fact that their team got dumbed down.
pokemon channel is certainly... out there, and probably not too fun for anyone over the age of 13 but i have so many great memories of it and wish it got more appreciation
I remember always begging my mother to take me to blockbuster so i could rent Pokémon Channel. I want to push my child self down the stairs, even if it means i end up killing myself in the present timeline.
I have Pokemon Channel. It was pretty decent when I played it quite a few years ago. Haven't played it in some time though. It's not really a game, more of an experience. It's laid back.
They did you wrong
Pokemon Channel
I just realized that Pokémon Battle Revolution was supposed to have a mention in this video, how could I forget? It was pretty visually, but it had less features than any other of the "Stadium" games.
Hey Jwittz, where did you get that awesome shirt?!
Meh, i liked that game
Seriously. Where did that shirt come from and can I have it?
its a bird jesus shirt!
Thomas DeLorenzo Shark Robot, 90% sure!
I had that PC game with the horrifying animation. It was fun to play! And I didn't remember the animation, so either it never bothered me as a kid or I repressed the nightmares.

I actually had Pokemon Channel as a kid. My favorite part was taking the bus and being away from the TV.
Long after I gave up on Hey You Pikachu, my little sister picked up the game and found items and awards that weren’t listed in any GameFAQs walkthrough. There’s so much in that game that no normal person would ever find.

On Pokédex 3D Pro, I spent about 80 hours looking at cool animations and pausing to admire the looks of the move.
Oh, I just adored Pokémon Channel as a kid, I spent hours playing it with my brother. We didn’t really focus much on the TV, we liked taking the bus to explore and redecorating the room 💕
I loved Pokemon X and Y. Fight me.
And holy shit, the Pokemon Play It! animation is horrifying. Animation like that should never be allowed to happen.
AnimationAddictExplosivo why would any one fight u it's a great game
I never really liked it, but it's not bad.
Gen 1 is amazing, Gen 2 is Amazing, Gen three is Amazing, Gen 4 is really good, Gen 5 sucks, Gen six is amazing, Gen 7 sucks
I really like some things they did, but it's way too streamlined for me.
That Pokemon play it animations must be DELETED FROM EVERY DIMENSION EVER.
For some reason I sunk a countless number of hours in Pokemon Channel as a kid... and I still enjoy it.
+Dave Strider Same here. Other than being forced to watch the Pichu Bros, I loved unlocking the cards for taking quizzes and buying things on the shop channel. Any game with lots of unlocks like that I find myself enjoying.
+Inquisitive Shrew I also found it very therapeutic, the music, gameplay, everything.
Yep, as he said, it's very relaxing. It isn't a perfect game by any means, but I still enjoy it for what it is.

The whole thing is like that one meme:

Oh yeah how about pokemon dead channel? 👹
AND THUS THE POKEMON APP WAS BORN
true, i sure did like pokemon channel as a kid. i would try to skip some waiting times when watching one channel by switching to another one and back, then repeat that many times. but if i were to play it again now, i would probably stop after the first 10 minutes
When you see
Pikachu with no face u will regret it
I actually really hate pokemon XY.
I quit shortly after easily catching the legendary pokemon with a pokeball.
Turn off EXP Share, then.
Yeah, I don't mind the no grinding but the story wasn't good... Post game wasn't good either imho
***** Agreed!
***** You can't have nostalgia for something you never had front-up a experience of it.

Agreed 100% the holy grail of Pokemon games is explorers of sky
I prefer Gates to Infinity, but I agree that Mystery Dungeon is way better than the main series.
The Dom Bomb yeah i actually prefer gates now
Am I the only one who absolutely loved Hey You, Pikachu when I was a kid?

It was a'ight.

The worst Pokémon game is Skyward Sword
The worst Metroid game is Hotel Mario.
The worst Kirby game is Sonic 06.
The worst Sonic game is Squeak Squad
The worst Legend of Zelda game was Sword Art Online
The worst Kingdom Hearts game is Nintendogs.
Why I think this:
Xell Don't pay attention to this comment. Just go on.
Xell OK, now I see the 'besides' part. Thanks for correcting me.
Also, she makes it super easy? Damn....
JRPGPirate Yeah. It's quite disappointing. But choosing your partner as Axew makes the final boss even easier because one Dual Chop kills him. That being said, I don't consider the thing at the end a final boss... I consider it a joke.
Is it bad that I have Pokemon Dash?
I should've wasted my money on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon ;__;

I also remember always forcing my pokemon to play with toys

and dragging them to the end of the map.

and then they made Pokemon Rumble, which I only had the demo and got the second game for the 3DS.

My Pokemon Ranch does still work, actually, as far as I know. The Pokemon Company never released the update for the game in the US, though, so you're only able to transfer from Diamond and Pearl.
Yes, it does work.
Yep... In fact, crazy thing, you can still use it if you transfered your software on the Wii U... And it also works if you use a 3DS to transfer your Pokemon from Diamond & Pearl.

A keychain is my favourite real life animal ;)
Yumi Higorashi "Pokemon look like real life animals." Gens 1, 2, 3, 4, AND 5 also had real life animals as Pokemon. Your argument for Gen 6 is invalid.
Gen 1 WAS real life animals. Get over it
This is only my opinion. I think that previous Pokémon looked fake, and new Pokémon don't look like Pokémon
Yumi Higorashi tauros tediursa ratatta miltank TOTALLY loked fake right
People complaining about OR AS and x and you being too easy face it EVERY POKEMON GAME WAS EASY here's a way to make it harder do a nuzlocke challenge and turn off experience share aka experience all from pokemon red blue yellow fire red and leaf green carried over to x and y
And it isn't about the difficulty it's about fun factor just because you didn't need to grind didn't mean it was bad it meant you didn't have to do the worst thing in rpg history
Agreed, every pokemon game is easy if you were at a proper level and have the correct match ups, unless it's Gen 1 where Psychic types were broken
Duskool yeah psychic was immune to ghost in gen 1 and bug types were laughable
"This is my dojo-oh my god, is that a hoppip?" 😆
That part actually happened as soon as I saw this comment😂😂😂😂😂
What is with him and Hoppips?
Mohow ya I agree. I like the main pokemon games but I could get addicted to mystery dungeon they were amazing to me
PMD : GTI is... a major letdown to be honest, the game is good but, the pokemon aren't so many.
Don't get me wrong, it in and of itself was a decent game. The problem lies in all of the things that make it a downgraded and rushed experience when you compare it to its predecessors. It could have been a much better game if they didn't take away the major things that made the previous ones so enjoyable.
I see. But that PMD problem is...
1. Can't choose gender
2. No Typhlosion
3. Not so much Pokémon.

So true. That game was such a disappointment.

I'll never see the hate for the Gen 5 Pokemon. Seriously, the majority of them were actually great, and all I see out of the haters is repeating the same damn Pokemon over and over:
"Gen 5 Pokemon suck, garbage and ice cream Pokemon"
"Gen 5 had the worst roster in the entire series, garbage and ice cream Pokemon"
"garbage and ice cream Pokemon"
"garbage and ice cream Pokemon"
Hey, y'know what else Gen 5 had? a 3-headed dragon

I'm sorry, I can respect all the hate Gen 5 gets on other aspects, but not the roster. Gen 5 Pokemon were awesome.

Kefkaesque13 Like I said, I wouldn't call it "one of the worst", but I can see why people see it as inferior.
Why do I feel like I want to watch FMA all over again?
I've watched the Brotherhood three times over.
Because it's freaking awesome. You only need a week to watch/read all things official FMA (as in not the gobs of fanfiction.)
StarrySkies Isn't it the best?
xXeliteninja12Xx Fanfictions can be good, sometimes. I mean, when you aren't wading through piles of sex fics with no story. There are some truly talented writers out there.
It's everything I want in an anime just there. It's amazing
Little did JWittz known he would not only count more sheep, but doing so by the thousands shiny hunting wooloo. LMAO

can this be a meme
Yes

Literally just screen capped that frame to do this
9:42 It's a slowpoke. Not slowbro.
"It's slow, bro."
Talk about missing the joke.
Slow, bro...
I know that the pikachu on the screen was just introduced a few minutes ago after I saw it be let go I actually felt sad
+etherraichu I just wish you could evolve Pokémon in Rumble World.
+etherraichu of course its better its free lol
+etherraichu But it's so BORING
Thats the 3ds one right? I just hated how the balloons were ridicolously priced to the point where you need to spend money.
+etherraichu ORRR you can use passwords. I got 100 diamonds, and some op pokemon.

Oh my God, that shirt
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are by far the best pokemon games imo, next would have to be Emerald. X and Y are.....eh....
I agree. But a majority of people find platinum and pearl to be their least favorote
Cory Goodman I mean diamond/pearl
***** Not...really. As I said in my comment, Black and White were EASILY slower.
Platinum is my favorite in the whole series. It contains a decent story, it's more challenging, it looks great and sounds great, has an actual postgame (I'm looking at YOU, X and Y), and is overall very fun.
I prefer Platinum (favorite main series game) to D and P, but to each their own.
I prefer Platinum and even then i thought they were good games but a little bland compared to the others. Like gen 1 was revolutionary, gen 2 and 3 were masterpieces, gen 4 happened, gen 5 was disappointing, and gen 6 is fantastic.

This is why I usually stay away from the Internet.
This game was my childhood and I still love it at this day.
It gives the pokemon ''life''
The worst game for me was Red/Blue. Ugh
*Not saying that FR/LG were shit*
and yeah, sorry for my bad english
FR/LG is only there to help ppl catch genwun pokemon since they weren't able to transfer it and it's atleast decent
*****
After the 6th gym, the game gets better. And there are some fantastic pokemon, you can see here: pokemondb.net/pokedex/game/black-white
*****
and if you have not played Black White 2, i recommend to play it. You can make movies, world tournaments etc

GordonRamsay Wow, this has absolutely nothing to do with the comment.

Jwittz: Playstation.
Pikachu (relaxed): pikachu...
If I had the game and/or box I'd check, but I sold it. xD
Ahahaha I love the FMA reference, but why? What's the significance of Ed over "talking pokemon"?
LordofFullmetal It wasn't that "talking Pokemon" was the joke, it was the symbol that fades to the clock in that part of the video. The symbol looks like the Flamel on Ed's coat, Al's arm, the series' logo, etc. The snake and winged cross.
LoL when I had Hey You Pikachu at the age of 7, I had no problems with it. I didn't really beat the game though til 2008 since my second oldest sister had my Nintendo 64. Also everytime I said electric 3 times Pikachu would get mad. Pikachu also got mad when I said, "Big ass, come over here." in Spanish, but I think that just a random thing. xD
why would you tell a pikachu Gran trasero ven aqui if ass is not even an insult in spanish
eduardo coello Ass can be an insult in English. Also I said culo grande. XD
water6teendragon yes in English but in Spanish no. also you really hated pikachu
eduardo coello I don't hate Pikachu. It's the opposite. I just wanted to see how would Pikachu react if I spoke Spanish, and the results were funny.
water6teendragon oh ok
^THIS MOTHERF**KING THIS!!! I agree everything you said about Gen5!
Me too but I know this is an unpopular opinion but I also liked the story it kept me on my toes and I loved the soundtrack throughout the whole game
No one is pointing out Kevin Durant. am sad
I agree completely, I love those two generations the most!
Gen five was good, but it got me out of Pokemon until Gen six, which I liked. My favorite is still four though.
TheJWittz, have you seen PBG's Hey You Pikachu video?
was thinkin the same thing
It's time for RANDOM FACTS WITH PIKACHU,
thundershock... thundershock... attack... thundershock anything
Pikachuuuuuuuuuu
Brought to you by carrrots and peeeeeas
I remember loving Hey You Pikachu and I actually was able to win as a kid XD but pikachu was my favorite pokemon so I probably just ignored the bad gameplay and won through sheer perseverance
2:56 I owned this game, never could get very far.
Disc broke so bad that the computer thinks it's "Poppit to Go" now.
I agree with most of your decisions but NO! DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY POKEMON CHANNEL. THAT GAME BROUGHT HAPPY MEMORIES IN MY CHILDHOOD I loved it :)
LOVE THAT COMMENT!!!!
Technically it's not a game
Since we're all trash talking each other's favourite pokemon games here:
I actually hate the Mystery Dungeon series, well, the gameplay part of it.
Plus it also had the most *boring* designs (note "boring")... and the laziest...
um... You CAN evolve in the Mystery Dungeon games...
You can actually evolve in Mystery Dungeon, but I will agree that it can be repetitive and tedious. You can't even evolve until you've truly beaten the massive story mode.
(Still my favourite Pokemon game.) XD
Skip A Beat In Blue Blazers wait what? Thats even more stupid
I have Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue, and the rules to evolve are the same as in the main story games (Emerald, Black, X, etc.) Once you're high enough in level or have the item you need, you can evolve if you just talk to this magical rock thing.
How do they narrate the footnotes from the Bartimaeus books?
There’s one on like every other page
I personally loved pokemon dash. My favorite part was the dongle system where you could play on sprites of your pokemon teams, I just wish that the main game had much more accurate and large maps on the top screen, then you could actually plan out your path. I also have a lot of love for pokemon channel, simply for the fact that i was young when I played it, and I loved the small anime specials
A better Pokémon racing game would still be nice! What ideas do you have for it?
Speaking of awful Pokémon games here is a list of my most hated ones:
Pokémon Channel: Pretty much the same reason you brought up, it's fucking boring.
That's because Pokemon Yellow is based off the cartoon, while Red/Green/Blue are their own thing.
Except that spammy brock on pokemon yellow XD
Ambrella....
As bad as the Umbrella Corporation.
+Gaelklinklang That's a villanous organization in a video game right? Is it from No More Heroes?
***** Ah yes.
They started out as a hot dog stand you know
"Kasumi" is not the Japanes voice actor of "Misty". It's her name in Japanese.
And it's a very lovely name too. Kasumi that is.
...
Has nothing to do with me playing DOA. AT ALL.
:D
hey you seem like a cool guy i do pokemon vids ill watch your vids if you watch mine
pokemon channel is certainly... out there, and probably not too fun for anyone over the age of 13
but i have so many great memories of it and wish it got more appreciation
I remember always begging my mother to take me to blockbuster so i could rent Pokémon Channel. I want to push my child self down the stairs, even if it means i end up killing myself in the present timeline.
You know, something like "Hey You Pikachu!" could be really awesome with today's technology and a good developer.
THAT ANIMATION IS THE SINGLE SCARIEST THING I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE.
I remember one morning I actually finished the game. But the thing is, I was only 6 years old and boy did I cry.
3:05 *HOW IS THAT NOT A MEME YET?!*
2:52 Why would you subject us to that? What did we ever do to you?!
3:00 those are the ugliest pokemon I've ever seen :P
i used to watch your channel all the time when i was younger. i havent seen your videos for a while now, it feels good to be back
I have Pokemon Channel. It was pretty decent when I played it quite a few years ago. Haven't played it in some time though. It's not really a game, more of an experience. It's laid back.
