I had a band called "Johnny & The Night Train" in Tucson in the 90s. I'm a keyboard player who doubles on tenor sax & we'd play this one and some other classic old tenor sax hits like "Tequila" & "Honky Tonk." We were never outta work, & those were good times!
Dude this scene has always stood out to me when I first watch it , always could recite the melody and was surprised no one knew it ! SAX IS OUT IF THIS WORLD
...... Let's set the record straight............THIS TRACK was NOT recorded by the "ACTORS" in blue jackets portraying "Starlighters" band....... In fact, it was recorded entirely by STUDIO MUSICIANS....... I know this, because I'm the one who plays the sax solo and receives royalties every year. Ray Pizzi
Yes, what about the Movie Streets Of Fire, the Actors who sang "I Can Dream About You" did the best Darn Lip Synching ever. The Real Vocalist was Dan Hartman who also wrote Instant Replay, Relight My Fire (Later used in a Commercial for Senchal Perfume), and also covered by British Boy Band Take That and Lulu (Former Wife Of Maurice Gibb Of The Bee Gees).
This song eventually led me to a semi professional music career. I’m a long time member of High Speed Rail Alliance. At a spring conference, I heard a piano player play this song. The moment I told a seventy plus year old the name of this song, he invited me to his jam session. Two months after that fact, I bought a beat up old washboard. In time I learned how to play it. With hours of practicing, I eventually became adequate enough to do paid gigs. They say that one thing leads to another. That’s what happened to me.
Thank you for posting this! I took my 4.5 month old nephew to a street fair and he started smiling at a saxophonist playing this song. You've made it easy to find on the internet (good quality, too). Now my nephew is smiling and dancing to it at home. :)
Ha ha!! Same here. That's why I downloaded this to mp3, since the tune randomly comes to mind. Besides, I love the Oldies music and era. Therefore, this is a classic to Me ever since I saw the Back To The Future trilogy!..
Every time I heard this song, I used to think of Back to the Future. Up until I saw Rush Hour, lol. Now I can't help but think of Jackie Chan fighting in a pool hall every time I hear this song because of what his character said, lol! Still love Marvin Berry & The Starlighters, though!
A jazz ensemble performed this composition at the studio for my area's PBS affiliate when I was interning there a few months before I graduated high school, only the first melody played in this snippet were played on trombones instead of saxophones.
It was at the right moment when Angela was in the Lincoln tunnel (which goes under the Hudson river), it plays "Black Train" from "Enchantment UNDER THE SEA" dance... where surely enough seems that she is in her way to be "enchanted"
Took me a second to place the saxophone playing but knew it was the Enchantment Under the Sea dance song. Also during that car ride, Davy Crockett played, which also plays in the movie. Nice Easter Egg's Esmail drops on this series.
So thankfull to up load this man!! I am searching this EPIC SONG, it's so beutifull and pur jazz!! Just for this I'm inscribeing and I will search your link in the description, thank you budy!! So thankful for you post this video and with correct links, I'm think owe you more than beers ok??! Thank you, and send me what you want or a simple message, thank you!! :))
@RW00632 I honestly like it better that there aren't movies like this nowadays. This film wouldn't be as special if there were others like it :) I love the fact that I'm 16 and my favorite songs/movies are from many decades before I was even born.
Pretty sure the original film had a scene that was deleted from the finished film where Marty says "I'd like to have that in writing", like the second film did, because if you noticed, the song is slightly trimmed in said original film.
This is a pretty darn good rendition of Night Train for a throw-away song in a movie. I mean it's not as good as Louis Prima's band with Sam Butera -- but what is?
I think it's so they could use archive footage of Crispin Glover, who didn't film anything for BttF II due to a contract dispute. They used the binoculars so it wasn't quite as obvious.
THAT SAX IS SO GOOOOOD
Hell yes!
🎷
Veeery good
I can not disagree
"...The wind? He replied. why that's easy to say, it falls from the sky, like the rain yesterday!"
I just love the smooth way George dances! 😁
Always cracks me up seeing him dancing by himself!
Si baila muy bien
He's my hero
You should see him dance in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Search for it!
He's a passionate man.
Does nobody appreciate the drummer on this song? He was fantastic. Incredible pocket.
He cool
Chilled
I like how scenes from both films were seamlessly combined. That and the song.
wel written movie imo

the guy who plays Marvin Berry was one of my professors in college. He's AMAZING.
Really?
Professor in what? I hope not music and concert because he isn't actually a musician
Harry Waters Jr. is your professor?
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar LMAO clearly not.
@@giyuutomioka8133 yeah he was while I attended Macalester (graduated in 09). But he's still there, Chair of the Theater Dept.
I’m so happy😂 My jazz band teacher said we’re playing this song in band all I think about is this movie😂🤣
This version...from 1985....is what put this in my head since I was 4yrs old...❤

Hahahaha! Great Ray ! Please tell me your set up !?!!?!?!?! Which Mouthpiece ? Which Reed? Which Sax ??? Amazing sound !
raypizzi i want his track without movie sound in it
amazing song ray! love that movie :)
raypizzi Nobody cares. Doesn't change the movie whatsoever.

Great tune, always reminds me of the film.

"We're gonna take a little break. But we'll be back in a while. So, uh, don't nobody go nowhere."
That sax sound dying at the end like the player is collapsing like a train coming to the end of the line what a band!!
Nobody can beat this more than George McFly!!!!
me encantaaaa, tenia meses buscando esa cancion... i like this songgg....

Ha ha!! Same here. That's why I downloaded this to mp3, since the tune randomly comes to mind. Besides, I love the Oldies music and era. Therefore, this is a classic to Me ever since I saw the Back To The Future trilogy!..
Especially the part at like 0:27 lol
Valerie P trill in your head 4 years later?
This tune is perfectly named. It really does evoke the feeling of riding the rails at night.
To me, it sounds like music that would play while I sneak around a public place ;)
its actually a song by Duke Ellington called "Three J's"
This song has been on repeat all day. Blunt blowing in the wind and the sax just doing it’s thing with its best friend the piano.
finally i found this goddam song! i love the movies and this song!
I was so stoked to play this in Jazz band back in the day!!! :D
Beautiful saxaphone of this night train
00:57 George McFly was jammin..lol

This song was playing in the van on episode 2.9 of Mr. Robot. Another Back to the Future hidden Easter Egg.
or a clue?

Episode 11.
昔はjohnny b.goodがめちゃめちゃカッコいいと思ってたけど最近はこの曲に魅力を感じるようになった🤔
Like a high school would ever get a band this good lol
Well thank you Ray Pizzi for your talent n knowledge. Much appreciated.
I was just watching BTTF I and now I am here, this is a great piece of music!
Killing that sax.. Louis Prima video is also nice
For some reason, I now want to get a white shawl lapelled tuxedo in a classic 1950s American cut....... (0:57)
I love this so much
A modernized tune from 80's movie, BTTF with a 50's sound 2 it
Amo a cena e a música de George dançando

I just started humming this out the blue @ work and a co worker joined in....SHEEN!
Esta bonita melodía la han versionado muchos interpretes como en 1962 JAMES BROWN pero la versión original fue de JIMMY FORREST en el año 1951
This is really beautiful music! :3
Kinda sounds like a mix between Night Train and C jam blues isn't? Amazing
Que genial la música de esta película, es perfecta está trilogia... ❤

Bro my jazz band teacher got us to learn this but we aren’t even playing it for our show 😭 Wish we could have played it like this
Why can't all School Dances play music like this?? Nope Cause we need Rap YEA RAP.... fuck rap....
They play really good for being reefer addicts!!!
Good job! Love this song and movie too. Thanks.
