What a wonderful comparison of these two trails and I am so glad that you shared your experiences with us. I am also amazed by how many Grand Canyon hikes you have done. Very grateful for you video and thank you again. I absolutely enjoyed your wisdom and tips. Good job 👍
Hello GC. Good to here your take on both trails between your Bright Angel and South Kaibab. Some interesting names here like Bright Angel (UFO observatin?) and then Phantom? humm. It's all incredible to us. We are pleased to inform you that our new film has your Channel & Icon, with link, in the description. Hope it helps to build your channel a little more. Thank you for bringing so much joy to us through your great filming during 2023 ❤😊 Wishing everyone Seasons greetings from Paul & Kathy GB🤝🎄🎅😊 Together we are Stronger ✊👍
I agree, it helps to work together. Thanks for the inclusion on your channel, I will try to reciprocate as I get some time. Sometimes RUclips seems like a job, but then real life intervenes. I think the place names have very worldly origins, but who knows? If one visited from outer space, it seems Grand Canyon would be an obvious destination. . . I appreciate all of your support!
Hi there. Wonderful video, a great review of both stunning trails. What an amazing place the Grand Canyon is. I would love to visit it sometime. Thanks for sharing it with us, all the very best, Dave
Great video & information. I've hiked both trails and concure with everything you said. I should change it up; I always go down South Kaibab and up Bright Angel a few days later.
I have gone down BA and up SK a number of times, and it is much gentler on my knees. But for the next few months, I will be going down SK on my monthly hikes! On my last hike, I found SK to be in much better shape than in the past. Thank you for your comment.
Wonderful video. If you could I would like your opinion. 9 years ago I hiked down South Kaibob to Phantom Ranch and hiked up Bright Angel. Now that my knees are getting older would it be easier to go down and up Bright Angel even though mileage is longer? Thank you!
I find South Kaibab particularly difficult to go down. My preference would be up and down Bright Angel, or down Bright Angel and up South Kaibab, which can be a pleasant hike after a night at Phantom Ranch! I think as the years pass, going down S. Kaibab is more and more difficult.
To do Bright Ange, would you recommend starting at around 8 hours or 9? This is the time I'll be able to arrive because I'm going to sleep in Moenkopi, and I'm going to go on a motorcycle and start the trail, I've already done several long trails in a day of 20 to 30 km, so I think it will be easy for me, but I wanted a opinion, thanks
Tuba City is quite a ways from the trailhead. You might want to stay at the South Rim to have more convenience. It is probably 1.5 hours away, that is if you did not stop at any of the overlooks. You could also camp at Mather or for free in the nearby dispersed camping areas, or stay on one of the lodges. Your speed on the trail will really depend on your age and health. When I started a decade ago, I could do the Bright Angel rim to river in 8 hours total, but nowadays, it takes me 10.5 hours, or longer if I make videos. The time of year is an issue. In Summer it is very hot, 40C sometimes in the deep canyon, which slows you down, and in Winter there is often ice at the top of the trail. Also, keep in mind that you will descend about 1.3km to the river. It can be a strenous hike. I usually start the hike more than an hour before sunrise. I hope you have a great visit!

산이 꽤 험하군요. 트레킹은 그만큼 아찔할 것 같아요. 멋진 곳이요. 한 번 걸어보고 싶네요. 좋은 설명 잘 들었습니다. 즐거운 산행 되세요.7:41
Thank you for watching! I hope you can make it to hike Grand Canyon. It probably looks steeper than it really is. If I can do it, you can do it.

Thanks so much for watching, and for your great videos as well. Happy New Year!
This was extremely valuable, thank you for your comparison. I would have loved to see the beach and river at the end of the trails.
Thanks for your comment, I hope you make it to the river on your next visit, hiking the Grand Canyon can be addictive!
Great video and it's very useful to all of us.
