I didn't care at all about the band prior to Jen's joining. It's amazing how such a small change (she doesn't add that much vocals to most songs) changes the overall impact so much. Just a line or two to give the ears another flavor layer and the whole is so much better.
What about: Undefeated, Salvation, The Resistance, One Day Too Late, Never Surrender, Feel Invincible, Destiny, Standing in the Storm, Beyond Incredible and (as has been mentioned) Not Gonna Die? So many great songs.
Been around since 1996, lead singer/bassist John Cooper is the only original member left. Christian rock band formed in Memphis. Didn't always have 2 vocalists. Drummer/vocalist Jen Ledger joined in 2008, English by birth, she has become an American citizen. John's wife Korey on rhythm guitar/keyboards/backing vocals since 1999. Lineup has been constant since lead guitarist Seth Morrison joined in 2011. 14 albums to date. Awake and Alive is one of their more popular songs. If you want more, try "Hero", "Monster", and "Feel Invincible".
there is technically 3 vocalists. John the main Singer and Bass Player. Cory his wife who plays second Guitar sings on some songs. and then Jen on the Drums. they SUPER powerful and uplifting live. Such an amazing band
My favorite band, no doubt. Always uplifting, always solid musically. I would try Hero and their new one, Unpopular. And I think Monster is their biggest. But Hero is also one of my favorite videos of all time. Check it out. Also, first time on this channel. Enjoyed your reaction!
I've seen Skillet live in Australia twice so far. They are absolutely incredible and seeing them live is electric ad their message is obviously one of love, life and hope, lets goooo!
Online, I swear, Skillet "fans" aren't even aware that Skillet released music before 2006. I challenge you (and everyone) to listen to a few tracks from their earliest days. From their 1996 self-titled debut: check out "Gasoline", "Saturn" and "Safe With You". From their 1998 second album "Hey You, I Love Your Soul": The titular song, "Your Love (Keeps Me Alive)" and "Suspended In You". You'll notice they don't really keep to one genre, hence their name Skillet.
Heard this song a hundred times, heard this band a million, and I still get teary eyed with their music. The music is great, the message is strong, and I will never get tired of it
I had the pleasure of seeing skillet perform live at inkcarceration this year in Mansfield, OH and they were one of the closing acts for the last day of the festival and they had a great set.
I'm generally not a fan of "Christian rock", but Skillet is just a really solid band...they're hard not to like. It helps that they don't (generally) ram their religious beliefs down your throat and just keep to a (generally) uplifting/positive message. They have a lot of good songs you would probably enjoy, and as a bonus a lot of their music videos are fun to watch because they put extra effort into them.
John Cooper = Bass/lead vocals His wife is Korey = guitar Jen Ledger = drummer/vocals Seth Morrison = 2nd guitar That combination between John and Jen singing is always amazing, SKILLET is incredible, I love their older music and albums but always have incredible messages
Skillet, the band that got me into rock and metal years ago...good times.. You should really listen to some of their other songs for eg. Not Gonna Die, Resistance, Feel Invincible, Hero, Monster, Whispers in the dark etc... Great video, keep up
So many great songs. Some of the main ones like Hero and Monster have already been mentioned, but I'd also like to mention: Undefeated, Salvation, The Resistance, One Day Too Late, Never Surrender, Feel Invincible, Destiny, Standing in the Storm, Beyond Incredible and especially Not Gonna Die. Anyone else agree?
Skillet is my favorite band, even though I found them about 2,5 months ago, and this sobg is my favorite song! Some other great songs I recommend you to check out are Comatose, Not Gonna Die, Hero, Monster and Psycho in my Head.
Skillet "Psycho In My Head", "Feel Invincible", and "Monster" official mvs. Trust me. That's why Skillet are so loved. They're a christian band but they're not preachy. Their message is of positivity and hope. Pleeeeease check out more Skillet.
"Feel Invincible" is my favourate song by these guys and ladies. It's such a hard hitting and positive song. Also, the female vocalist, Jen Ledger, has her own EP that she released in 2018 and a few non-album singles since. She infuses dance/EDM into rock.
One of my favorite bands! Definitely need to dive in deeper. I would recommend The Resistance, Feel Invincible, Surviving the Game. Thanks from a new subscriber!
Welcome to the wonderful world of skillet! More skillet : Hero, Monster, Whispers in the dark, Legendary, Back from the dead...that will get you started :)
Skillet is so great, and they have a whole catalogue of music most people have never even heard of, I think they made 5 albums before they finally became known, no idea how many they have now, and the band is a whole different lineup besides John and his wife but still love them. Once they picked up Jen (the new drummer/2nd vocalist) they really popped
"Monster", "Hero", "Surviving the Game", and, finally, "The Resistance"; lyric video. Absolutely rock solid. BY the way, I became an instant fan when I saw one of their blogs, where John and Korey's little girl wanted a birthday party with super heroes, so all four members of the band dressed up for her and they had a party. All I could think was, "Okay, now THAT'S cool!"
This is the song that got me hooked. I was in the Navy when my buddy told me about them, i heard about them beforehand, and it inspired me to be better and treat myself better. To this day, its one of my favorite songs by them.
Am one of those who begin skillet back in 2006 or 2007 and the 1st song ive listen was "Falling inside the Black ". After that i dig into the whole Comatose Album plenty of time and have some other songs there that i love so much and still thing that the best album that they ever made but that just my opinnion. Anyway Skillet are great and you should realy check more from them.
Awake and Alive is one of my favourite songs from Skillet other than Collide. The drummer her name is Jen Ledger the main singer/bassist his name is John Cooper, the first guitarist name is Korey Cooper and the second guitarist name is Seth Morrison I can’t remember the violin guy’s name
Skillet just released "Unpopular" this week. It is definitely about some of the things people have said about them. It's a pretty good song too. Be aware though, Skillet is a whole rabbit trail on its own for people who do reaction videos. They have LOTS of great songs. As someone with combat related PTSD, Monster and Psycho in my Head both speak to me.
Skillet!!! Yes! Many have given you a brief introduction to the band. This is a good song for an introduction to Skillet! My first song was Hero. Great song! It also has a good mix of John and Jen. Most of their songs, because of their faith, are very positive messages, but not as mentioned, in your face Christian messages. You can tell even by the names of some of their best songs, many already mentioned, Hero, Not Gonna Die, Invincible, Legendary, the Resistance, Surviving the Game, and Victorious. These are must "listens" in their library. These are some of my favorites and mostly feature John and Jen vocals. Jen Ledger also has a solo project ... good song to start with is Not Dead Yet.
Skillet is an amazing band and I have loved them for years. You can go down a Robbin hole with Skillet. They have so many great songs. Keep reacting to them you won’t regret it.
So many great recommendations in the comments, so I'll leave you one I haven't seen yet (and that IMO, needs more reactions). My favourite is Awake & Alive, and 2nd, is Comatose (which is similar, but w/o Jen's vocals). But, my 3rd most favourite Skillet song is, "I Want to Live". It is so representative of their sound, and so beautiful/catchy. I don't know why it isn't one of their top hits, but well worth checking out. (There isn't really a video for it, just the 'official audio', but a fan created a version with the studio track, overlaid by tour footage, which is cool to give some visuals.) Thanks for the reaction and glad you enjoyed them. They've pretty much become my favourite band. So much great stuff, but they are just awesome people, too.
one of my fav bands of all time one song you neeeed to check out and look into the back story is The Last Night. Such an amazing song and beautiful song and hits me very close to home personally highly recommend. Been watching your channel now for a bit and really enjoyed how you personally connect to music in your own way (which is how it should be) and give insight and different ways to look at a song. (also van city gang lets get it
I would react to their song Save Me if you want something deeper. The song deals with darkness and depression and having to cope with the feeling of not having anyone to turn to.
I knew them because back in the day, people used to the MV (music videos), mostly on games. So, one day I stumbled upon Comatose- RSMV (Runescape Music Video) and I absolutly LOVED the song. At the time I didn't know how to search for the band's name, so I just kept watching the video only for the song. Couple years ago I remembered that video, searched for it and finally, after a decade of not knowing who sang that song, I was able to discover Skillet
Monster, whisper in the dark, feel invincible, hero, comatose, legendary, rebirthing, the last night, falling inside the black, say goodbye, it's not me it's you, don't wake me. Are all good songs by skillet
Skillet is a Christian Rock Band, the members are John Cooper Bass Guitar and main vocals, his wife Korey Cooper background vocals and rhythm guitar, Seth Morrison lead guitar, and Jen Ledger background vocals/co vocals and drummer. They had another lead guitarist Ben Kasica, and another drummer Lori Peter's who helped Jen
the resistance, feel invincible, sick of it, circus for a psycho, back from the dead, monster, rise, not gonna die, its not me its you, one day too late, never surrender, the last night, those nights, hero, surviving the game, whispers in the dark, comatose, legendary, victorious, unpopular
Very good analogy to the lyrics. Hit is on the head, the exploitation that artists go thru. And being a Christian band makes it even harder. Love your reactions.
Listen to not gonna die. Rise. Revolution. Camatose. Back from the dead. Anchor. Stars. Rebirthing. Some awesome songs. And also Phsyco in my head. Survivor.
I got to see them live about 6 years ago, they put on an amazing show. I love that most people don't realize they're a Christian band because they generally just put out positive and uplifting music instead of trying to shove religion down everyone's throats. Even if you are religious, that can get tiresome quickly.
Speaking of bands you haven't heard you should try Giant They will blow you away. Start with "I'm A Believer" the intro alone will have you hooked then move to "I'll see you in my Dreams"
The fact that Jen the drummer singing adds a different dynamic to this, and she also has a great voice.
I didn't care at all about the band prior to Jen's joining. It's amazing how such a small change (she doesn't add that much vocals to most songs) changes the overall impact so much. Just a line or two to give the ears another flavor layer and the whole is so much better.
Jen is an absolute legend. She was literally 17 or 18 when she joined the band and made this album.
Ok, now that you've met Skillet it's time for "Monster"!
yes and the Hero song ;)
and The Resistance
I second this!
And Feel Invincible.
@@mackfarlainethebarenakedau5113 earth quake powerful!
Skillet is a chritisn band hence the very uplifting and inspirational lyrics.
Comatose, Whispers in the Dark, Collide, Monster, Hero, Invincible, Circus for a Psycho are all good to check out from Skillet
Not gonna die
What about: Undefeated, Salvation, The Resistance, One Day Too Late, Never Surrender, Feel Invincible, Destiny, Standing in the Storm, Beyond Incredible and (as has been mentioned) Not Gonna Die?
So many great songs.
Hero is my favorite hands down
Been around since 1996, lead singer/bassist John Cooper is the only original member left. Christian rock band formed in Memphis. Didn't always have 2 vocalists. Drummer/vocalist Jen Ledger joined in 2008, English by birth, she has become an American citizen.

@@chriso6719 correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the former female drummer also did vocals? Especially in rebirthing?
@@Kill3rg00s3 Lori Peters is the drummer that Jen replaced. Lori didn't sing, Korey sang co lead on "Rebirthing"
there is technically 3 vocalists. John the main Singer and Bass Player. Cory his wife who plays second Guitar sings on some songs. and then Jen on the Drums.
they SUPER powerful and uplifting live. Such an amazing band
Yaasss! Fall down the Skillet rabbit hole!
My favorite band, no doubt. Always uplifting, always solid musically. I would try Hero and their new one, Unpopular. And I think Monster is their biggest. But Hero is also one of my favorite videos of all time. Check it out.

Awake is such a good album. Songs like this one or Believe are so beautiful.
I've seen Skillet live in Australia twice so far. They are absolutely incredible and seeing them live is electric ad their message is obviously one of love, life and hope, lets goooo!

They do what Jars of Clay did. Their mainstream music is more inspirational than religious.
Have you listened to Disciple?
Red is another good band, and their musical message is sorta similar in challenging people, without being right on the nose about their faith.
Thousand foot Krutch is also very good.
No one gives a shit what you're into bro like what you like
John Cooper = Bass/lead vocals
His wife is Korey = guitar
Jen Ledger = drummer/vocals
Seth Morrison = 2nd guitar
That combination between John and Jen singing is always amazing, SKILLET is incredible, I love their older music and albums but always have incredible messages
Now you need to listen to Hero from Skillet
Also Monster
Whispers in the Dark
And Legendary
All from Skillet Too.
Definitely need to check out a few from skillet. Monster, legendary, feel invincible, comatose
Monster is a must
More skillet 🙌
One of my faves. They bring energy on a level with The Warning. Plus they also have a tiny powerhouse singing drummer that Pau gets compared to.
Need to listen from skillet
HERO
NOT GONNA DIE
LAST NIGHT
Skillet, the band that got me into rock and metal years ago...good times.. You should really listen to some of their other songs for eg. Not Gonna Die, Resistance, Feel Invincible, Hero, Monster, Whispers in the dark etc... Great video, keep up

they're skillin' it!

My favorite
I think you'd like Hero by Skillet
"Feel Invincible" is my favourate song by these guys and ladies. It's such a hard hitting and positive song. Also, the female vocalist, Jen Ledger, has her own EP that she released in 2018 and a few non-album singles since. She infuses dance/EDM into rock.

Please react to "Not Gonna Die" by Skillet
So many great Skillet songs to choose from but if your looking for good inspiration and sum good ole Rock n Rolla I recommend Surviving the Game.

Feel Invicible, Yours to Hold, Forgiven and Forever or the End are all masterpieces by Skillet!
This band does violin with electric guitar so well
They hav alot of great songs. Monster, whispers in the dark, etc..
If you like the violins in there you should definitely listen to, imminence - infectious the singer uses the violin in every song

awesome band love to see them in concert and great video
Omg how have you not heard of Skillet girl!! They knock my socks off. Lol every song is da bomb! Continue checking out their stuff 😜
Easily one of my top bands, and their live shows are ridiculous!
Can you react to "Psycho in my Head" by Skillet please?
The coolest part is John (lead vocals; bass) and Korey (rhythm guitar;keys) are married 😊

Skillet's Monster, Whispers in the Dark, Hero are a must.
The music "The Resistance' is awesome, great lyrics!
Skillet music video recommendation: "Psycho In My Head"
You need to listen to the whole Awake and Alive album and listen to the Comatose album
Listen Monster from skillet

Jen Ledger, on drums. Also has a solo band called Ledger
